Who: Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass What: Blair and Chuck go on a real first date When: Backdated: Mid March Where: Rooftop Restaurant and Chuck's Limo Rating/Warnings: Family Friendly Status: Complete
The dreams were complicated to say the least. No Chuck didn’t dream about monsters or superheroes. There was nothing supernatural about them. Just some bitch who didn’t know how to keep her mouth shut. Spreading his whereabouts, his secrets all over the internet. But what it complicated was things with Blair. He wasn’t quite sure how he felt about her in this world. There was an attraction there, something he wanted to explore (not to the point of giving up his usual conquests just yet). But in the dreams he was in love with her although he refused to admit it. Instead turning it into some game. Watching her with Marcus was torture. It was not something he ever wanted to experience in real life.
Tonight was the night of their second attempt at a first date. Hopefully there would be no killer fog interrupting them this time. He had rented out an entire rooftop restaurant just for the two of them, determined to make her night a memorable one. He had something from the dreams for her as well. The limo had already picked Blair up, they were in the elevator on the way up to the restaurant. “I hate to say it, but it beats Victrola, doesn’t it?” He asked as the elevator doors opened. Of course Chuck was extremely proud of his club, and the dream memories it brought for both him and Blair. But this night called for a different venue, something more intimate. Maybe one day Blair would dance for him, but he doubted it would be tonight.
Blair had never thought she’d go on an actual date with Chuck Bass. Dinner as friends was one thing because nothing was expected to come of it afterwards. When they were going on a date though, things were different. There were many things Chuck could be expecting to come of this evening and if he was anything like this dream counterpart, which he was in quite a few ways, it was likely that he was definitely expecting them. At the same time, Chuck had a tendency to surprise her which meant that she had no idea what to expect from tonight.
An actual date required an extra nice outfit, not that anything Blair owned wasn;t extra nice to begin with, but she had made her to put a little extra work into her outfit tonight and her long brown hair fell in waves around her bare shoulders as she stood beside Chuck in the elevator, “Oh my god, did I hear correctly? Chuck Bass admits that something is nicer than what he owns? I never thought I’d see the day.”
“Don’t get used to it,” Chuck commented as their waiter led them through the restaurant to the outdoor seating. “Victrola is better for most everything else,” he smirked as they were led to their table with a great view of the city. “I do have every intention of taking you back there.” Which he truly did. He would see Blair dance for him, preferably sooner rather than later. It had been on his mind for awhile now, ever since he dreamed about it a few months ago.
“I’ll try not to.” Blair had noticed the lack of other patrons in the restaurant and quirked a brow at Chuck as they were led to their table, “Let me guess, you bought out the entire place?” It was a little bit of overkill, but it also wasn’t a surprise. This was definitely something Chuck would do and she had to admit, she was a little touched that he’d wanted to spend the evening with only her. It certainly made up for him apparently ditching her in the dreams. “And what exactly do you think is going to happen when you take me back there?”
Of course he bought out the entire place. Blair should really expect no less from him. Over the top was what he did best. Besides Blair did deserve the royal treatment. He could do it much better than that douchebag Lord too. “That shouldn’t be something you need to guess,” he commented with the smirk still on his face. His eyes shone with excitement when Blair asked about Victrola. “You’ll just have to come back to find out.” The server came by to take their orders. As usual Chuck went with a steak and a red wine. Yes everyone knew that he was still only twenty but he was never carded. After Blair placed her order and the server left Chuck’s attention was back on her. “Have I mentioned how ravishing you look tonight? New dress?”
Blair quirked a brow at Chuck and shook her head as she picked up her menu. She knew what he was expecting at Victrola, but as far as she was concerned, she wouldn’t be doing any dancing tonight. She ordered roast chicken and potatoes and red wine then handed over her menu to the server. “Of course it is. I decided that if this were an actual date, I should wear something new.” Her feelings for Chuck might have still been conflicted, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t look good for him.
Chuck just smirked at her comment. Pleased that she was clearly trying to look nice (not that she had to try hard) for him whether she wanted to admit it or not. “I’m sure you’d look even better with it off,” he couldn’t help but comment. He was still Chuck Bass. “Or,” he paused reaching into his pocket to pull out the jewelry box he had received from the dreams. “With this on,” he said handing it over.
Before Blair could say anything in response to Chuck’s comment about her dress, he had presented her with the necklace that he’d given her in the dreams on her sixteenth birthday and much like in the dreams, it look her breath away and all she could do was stare at it for a moment before looking back up at Chuck, “You got it?” Her gaze fell back onto the necklace and she had to set it down on the table, she was still a little in shock. “It’s even more beautiful in person.”
Chuck had to bite his tongue to keep himself from saying ‘way to state the obvious’ the moment definitely did not call for a sarcastic comment from him at the moment. “Yeah,” he said in confirmation instead. “You can keep it,” because what else was he going to do with it? It felt wrong to give it to anyone else. Not that he ever really gave women jewelry anyway. “Something that beautiful deserves to be seen on someone worthy of its’ beauty,” he knew it was what he had said in the dreams, but it was fitting.
Blair’s lips turned up onto a small smile and she held the necklace out to Chuck, “Would you put it on me?” In the dreams they’d slept together the night of her party, but Blair wasn’t planning for that to happen tonight. Chuck would have to do a lot more than simply give her a necklace from their dreams.
Chuck wasn’t expecting the necklace to suddenly make Blair rip her clothes off. However, he wouldn’t turn down sex either. Not that Chuck ever turned down sex. One of these days Blair would be his. Just like in the dreams. Chuck always got what he wanted. Besides, he had a feeling Blair was worth the wait, even if it was a bit torturous. “My pleasure,” Chuck said standing up and walking around behind her. He picked up the necklace placing it around her neck, clasping it in the back. He let his finger trace over the nape of her neck for a brief moment, that was his weakness, before taking a steadying breath and sitting back down. “Stunning.”
As the necklace was placed around her neck, Blair brought a hand up to run her fingers along it, “Thank you, Chuck.” When she had dreamt about her birthday she had hoped that she might get this particular necklace since other people were always talking about getting things from their dreams, but after a few weeks and no necklace, Blair had decided it wasn’t going to happen and now she knew why.
“Of course,” Chuck replied meaning it. He settled back in his seat as the waiter brought over their drinks, Chuck took a sip eyes still on Blair’s necklace. “It looks even better than in the dreams,” he commented giving her a sincere smile. One that was rare for Chuck but it happened on occasion.
Blair smiled, still fascinated by the necklace then looked back up at Chuck, noticing the smile for what it was and she returned it, “I may have to make it work with everything that I own now.” She was definitely going to have a bit of difficulty taking it off once she got home for fear that it might vanish in the night. It certainly meant a lot that Chuck had given it to her, both in the dreams and in the waking world and while Chuck could be an ass at times, it was possible that there could be something there at some point.
Chuck smiled back at her, he was tempted to say more. A comment about how’d she’d look just fine wearing only that but then the food came. The food was good the company even better. After dinner they were back in his limo. Chuck’s mind wandered back to the dreams, how he had taken Blair’s virginity in the back of his limo. An experience he wouldn’t mind actually having. Although he wasn’t naive enough to believe she was actually a virgin. “That necklace looks amazing on you,” Chuck said looking over at her, his fingers reached out to run along the diamonds.
Dinner had gone better than Blair had expected and so far nothing unusual had happened such as being compelled to kiss or deadly fog. For a first date, Blair had to admit, it was a good one; perhaps one of the better ones Blair had ever had. As it would seem, Chuck was not the only one thinking about their limo escapades in the dreams, but Blair was not about to have sex in the back of a limo; at least not now. As Chuck reached out to touch the necklace, her pulse rose slightly as Chuck’s fingers brushed over her skin, “Most things look amazing on me, but you should know that.”
Chuck didn’t respond to her comment. At least not with words. Instead he just stared at her for a moment, eyes locking onto hers. His hand moved from her neckline to the side of her face, brushing her hair behind her ear. In that moment he was done waiting, done pretending they were just friends. With that he leaned in crashing his lips against hers.
Blair knew just before it happened that Chuck was going to kiss her. They had kissed enough times in the dreams that she was able to recognize the look in his eyes just before he leaned in. It wasn’t a slow, sweet kiss, but an urgent, hot kiss and she could have stopped him. Could have pushed him away, but Blair had no desire to do either of those things. Instead, her hands came up to cup his face as she kissed him back, one hand sliding to the back of his head, her fingers curling in his hair.
Chuck’s free hand wrapped around Blair’s back pulling her to him so that she was practically sitting on his lap. All reasonable thought left his mind as he deepened the kiss, his other hand tangling in her hair. This was already better than what he remembered from the dreams, even if that had felt real this actually was and Chuck knew he didn’t want it to stop.
As fantastic a kisser as Chuck was, Blair did not want to relive their dream of having sex in the back of the limo so as difficult as it was, she managed to place both hands on Chuck’s chest and push him back, “Chuck….I think we should stop.” Her heart was pounding against her ribcage as she gazed at him, part of her wanting to just dive back in, but she knew that if she did then things were likely to progress and she didn’t want the dreams to dictate things, “At least for now.”
Chuck was taken aback when she pushed him off. He was not expecting that. A scowl appeared on his face as he inched away from her settling in the back of the limo. “Take her home,” he barked at the driver not bothering to look at Blair. He wasn’t mad at her exactly just the situation. Chuck Bass wasn’t used to being turned down.
Blair wasn’t exactly surprised by Chuck’s sudden 360, but that didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt her. Brow furrowed, Blair moved quickly to the other end of the seat and hastily fixed her hair and dress. If Chuck was going to ignore her now then she was going to do the same. The weekend had been near perfect and now he had ruined it just like he always seemed to do in the dreams.
