Who: Splendid and Capable

A night out was exactly what the doctor ordered, and after leaving Valerian in Max's capable hands, Splendid left out to meet up with Capable. They'd agreed upon a place after a few back and forth texts. Even though they'd seen one another recently, Splendid was just happy to be able to spend some one on one time with Capable to just catch up with everything. She arrived a little early, getting them a booth, and she was glancing over the menu just to see what they had while she waited on Capable to arrive.

Capable was very much looking forward to spending time with Splendid, it wasn’t something they got to do often usually their meetings were with the whole group so it would be a nice change. While they hadn’t known each other an overly long time Capable considered her one of her very best friends, a sister, and had the utmost respect for her.

Entering the restaurant she spotted her straight away and went over to the table, “Sorry if I’m late. Furiosa dropped me off” she said leaning in to hug Splendid before taking a seat opposite her.

With a shake of her head, Splendid returned Capable's hug. "Oh goodness, you're not late at all." Even if Capable had been late, Splendid wouldn't have minded. She would wait on any of them for forever, and not think twice about it. They were her family, her best friends, and without any of them she would be completely lost.

"How are you doing?" She asked, the menu place down upon the table top completely forgotten for the moment.

“I’m good” she said, “Things are going really well. I’m trying to convince Furiosa to get a puppy but she’s taking more persuading than I expected” she admitted. “How are you? Is Max with Valerian?” she asked with a grin.

"Good!" She nodded with a smile, and then she couldn't help but laugh. "I'm sure she is. You should just make her go to an animal shelter one day. Then she probably won't be able to say no." Okay, that might've been a little underhanded, but at least she could go see them and talk to the shelter workers about the dogs to make an informed decision. At the mention of Max and Valerian, a loving smile crossed Splendid's features. "I'm wonderful, and yes, Max is watching Valerian." Things had progressed between the two of them, and it was going quite well as far as Splendid was concerned. "They get along well. Max loves him, and I know that he will take good care of him. How's Furiosa? I haven't spoken with her since Easter." She'd have to change that, and soon.

“Oh that’s a really good idea” Capable said with a bright smile, once she saw the cute puppies Capable was sure she wouldn’t be able to resist. And she would definitely listen to the people who worked there more than Capable would have. “I don’t think Valerian is the only one Max loves” she said softly, reaching out to squeeze Splendid’s hand. When the question of Furiosa came up Capable blushed, “She’s good. Very good” she replied, “She’d love to see you I’m sure of it”

"I have some from time to time." Splendid replied with a smile and a wink. Turning her hand over underneath Capable's, she gave her hand a gentle squeeze back. "Maybe not, but we'll see how things go." She didn't want to push Max, and she didn't want him to think that he owed her anything after the events that had taken place in their shared dreams. Splendid cared for him, and wanted him to be a part of hers and Valerian's lives. A small smile tugged up the corners of her lips at the blush. "Good, I'm glad to hear that. I'll get in touch with her soon." As soon as Splendid stopped talking, the waitress came over to take their drink order. Once it was placed she walked away and Splendid glanced back over at Capable. "Are you happy?"

Capable nodded, “I know, but you make each other happy. Anybody can see that and you both deserve to be happy” They made a lovely family and Capable really did think they’d enrich each others lives if they were together. “I’m very happy, happier than I ever imagined I could be. I have you all, my family, and friends, an amazing job that I enjoy. I’m part of the world and I love that” she smiled, “Are you?” she asked.

They did make each other happy, or at least, Splendid hoped that she made Max happy. "I appreciate that." She responded with a nod, and a soft smile. "Good, I'm glad to hear that." She wished for nothing more than her friends happiness, for them to flourish in this life and forget about all of the bad things that happened to them in their dreams and otherwise. Taking in a deep breath, Splendid nodded. "I'm happier than I have been in a very long time. So I have no complaints whatsoever about my life." She'd even stopped being apprehensive about opening her front door when someone knocked, although there was still a small niggling in the back of her mind that he could find her. Still, Splendid pushed those thoughts back and just tried to live her life. The waitress returned with their drink order, and asked if they were ready to order. To be honest, Splendid hadn't looked through the menu much so she shook her head. "No, a few more minutes please."

In her opinion Capable thought that Splendid made Max happier than anybody else did and they both needed that, a little happiness in their lives. “I’m glad to hear that and to be part of your life too. I’d be lost without you now” she said honestly. If anybody found Splendid she would have all of them, her family, to back her up. Nobody would ever take her away from them. “We should chose things I guess” she grinned picking up the menu again.

"And I would be lost without you too." Splendid honestly would be lost without any of them. They'd not known each other that long, but in the same vein, they had known each other for a long time in another life. That sort of camaraderie didn't just disappear, especially since they'd been through so much together. Laughing softly, Splendid looked down at her menu. "Maybe, it would probably be helpful." Her eyes wandered over the menu before she settled on the fish and chips since why not? It sounded good, and it'd been awhile since she'd had any fish.

It was strange how much their dream feelings could influence them in the real world but kind of nice too, in the case of Splendid and Max and Furiosa. It also made Capable determined to look after and protect her friends with everything she had. Looking at the menu she decided on a burger and chips which she told the waitress when she came back over.

Splendid too put in her order with the waitress once she returned, and she settled back into her seat. "So, I've been thinking that maybe all of us should get away this summer." The thought of vacation time with her favorite people had crossed her mind a lot lately, but she hadn't had the chance to voice her thoughts to any of them. "I'm not sure where, but I think it could be fun to take a vacation together, don't you think?"

At Splendid’s suggestion Capable smiled brightly, “I think that’s a brilliant idea” she said nodding enthusiastically, “It would be lovely to be away just us all together” She knew she could talk Furiosa round to it as well. “I‘m not sure where either but wherever we go I bet we’ll have the best time”

"Right?" Splendid looked equally as excited about the idea of them all going on vacation together, "It really would be. We'll have to come up with some ideas and present them to Furiosa and Max." Splendid was sure that between the two of them that they could manage to figure out something that everyone would enjoy. "The only things I request is that it's away from the OC, and New York." She had absolutely no desire to go anywhere near New York again.

“Okay” Capable agreed, she’d never really been anywhere so she didn’t mind at all. “I saw Chicago on a tv show the other week that looked nice. Ooo or Florida, but that did look really busy” Capable watched and read a lot, she’d have to start reading more about holiday destinations. She figured somewhere in America would be best. Furiosa and Max might even want to drive wherever they went.

"I've never been to Chicago, that could be a lot of fun. We could go to the Keys, it might not be so busy down there, but I also wouldn't know since I've never been to Florida." Splendid's time since she'd moved to America had been spent in New York and California. There were plenty of places that they could possibly go, but they would have to keep Max in mind. Splendid didn't want to stress him out too much, so a place where things were more quiet would probably be best. "I'm sure that we'll figure out something that'll work for everyone." The idea that they would be able to spend time outside of the OC was inviting, yes, but she was more excited at the prospect of taking an actual vacation with people that she cared about. It would be fun, and they could have a lot of fun just forgetting about all the craziness that life had thrown at them.
