Who: Chuck Bass and Stiles Stilinski What: Random Encounter Where: Sidewalk outside Chuck’s limo When: Warnings: Status: Closed, Complete
Chuck Bass was a busy man. Running the West Coast division of Bass Industries was not an easy task. There simply were not enough hours in the day. However he did have some satisfaction in knowing that his hotels were thriving. Even doing better than the ones back in New York. It was a small lead, but still it was a lead. Slowly but surely Chuck was beginning to make a name for himself instead of just being the son of Bart Bass. It was only a matter of time before he got the company back from his uncle. Needless to say the young man did not have time for trivial things or irrelevant people.
His limo pulled up to the offices of a potential investor. It was one of the men that had known Chuck’s father which put him in a bad mood. But an investor was an investor, he couldn’t turn the other cheek just yet. Stepping out of the limo he nearly ran into some kid. “It’s called looking where you are going,” Chuck spat at the guy as he straightened out his tie.

Stiles jerked back, arms up, looking very much like a deer in the headlights for a split second. It took him a couple seconds to recover, to smooth a hand down the front of his shirt. “How about you look before you…” he started, and cut himself off with a sneer.
He’d seen this guy’s face before, but he wasn’t sure where. He looked like an asshole, Stiles thought, and his mind rolled with thoughts trying to place him. He’d definitely seen him before, he knew he had. He just couldn’t remember where.
“Before you fling your door open to the sidewalk,” Stiles finished his statement. What if it had been an old lady? Or a little kid? You would have just plowed them over.” And Stiles had the distinct feeling the guy didn’t care.
***
Why the hell was this idiot staring at him like that? Was he missing brain cells? Actually that wouldn’t surprise Chuck at all. “How about you learn how to finish a sentence,” Chuck shot back coolly. It was clearly a lesson he needed to learn.
He scoffed at the comment about old ladies or little kids. Chuck wasn’t completely heartless. He wouldn’t injure some elderly person, as far as children, well they needed to look where they were going, much like the kid in front of him right now. “I’m sorry,” he said his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Seems like that’s who just ran into me.”

“You’re an ass,” Stiles said. Seriously. The guy was so arrogant and pig headed, Stiles wanted to punch him. No, it was Dream!Stiles that wanted to punch the guy, because Dream!Stiles had punched Jackson when he’d been arrogant and pig headed and in Stiles’ way.
And that’s when it clicked. This was the guy who’d been an ass to Lydia when she first posted on the Valarnet. And with that realisation, he really did want to punch the guy, but instead he took a step back because Stiles wasn’t a scrapper. He didn’t punch people, largely because people tended to punch back, and Stiles really had no clue about fighting.

Chuck had too much class to get into a physical fight. If Stiles did dare punch him he would end up with a law suit, which he probably couldn’t afford. Not that Chuck needed the money, but it would be more to get his point across. Chuck Bass was not one to be messed with.
“Is that supposed to be an insult?” Chuck replied in a dry tone. Really, did this guy have nothing better to do than state the obvious? There was also the fact that Chuck didn’t care that he was an asshole either. He was actually proud of it.

“Yes.” Stiles gave the guy a hard look. He really didn’t want to stand here talking to the bastard. He had better things to do with his time. “But obviously you’re proud of it. Good for you.” He’d tell him to leave Lydia alone, but he had a feeling that would only make him seek her out more.
He sighed and lifted a hand in a salute. “Have a good day,” he said and turned to walk away.
*** Chuck didn’t have time to seek people out. He had already forgotten about his encounter with that Lydia girl so even if the kid had brought it up it would have meant nothing to him. However, he was leaving a triumphant smirk appeared on Chuck’s face not even bothering to respond. Instead he just straightened his tie one last time and headed into the offices.
