Will woke up after turning over and finding the space next to him empty, opening his eyes he saw Jem still fast asleep. He looked pale and peaceful against the pillows and moving carefully Will got out of bed and went in search of their girlfriend. He pulled on a pair of boxers before padding into the kitchen. He could smell coffee already and smiled when he saw her standing by the stove, she was wearing either one of his or Jem’s shirts, he wasn’t sure which.
Moving soundlessly behind her he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck, “Morning beautiful”
Tessa had almost always been an early riser, so when she'd woken up in between her two lovers, she had spent some time simply watching them. She hadn't stayed too long, the bed was too hard for her liking and while she enjoyed being pressed up against them, she rapidly started overheating.
So she'd headed for the kitchen, picking up one of their shirts and her panties as she went through the hallway and putting them on. The shirt dwarfed her slight frame, but it comforted her and she smiled to herself as she rolled up the sleeves and put some coffee on. She felt like those women from the films, especially when Will came up behind her.
“Morning handsome,” she grinned, concentrating on the cups as he kissed her neck. “How did you sleep?”
“Very well” he said, the same thought about her looking like a girl from a film running through his head too. He liked it. “Missed you though, feeling the need for caffeine love?” He asked her, “Jem is still out. I think we exhausted him” the words were light but there was worry behind them. Their boyfriend was still having to take the yin fen, so far nothing they’d found or tried had been able to make him better.
“Hmm, I noticed,” Tessa replied, her grin fading in concern for the man still sleeping in the next room. “I hope he’ll be alright. I have to be honest, I uh...didn't think much about the consequences of last night for him when I got this idea in my head,” she admitted her cheeks blushing ever so slightly at the confession, feeling guilty for potentially having made his condition worse.
Will pressed a kiss to her cheek, “You have nothing to feel bad about, I know for a fact he would not have changed what happened last night for anything. He’d hate for us to treat him like an invalid, you know that. We have to be sneaky about it” he finished resting his chin on her shoulder.
Tessa sighed. She knew Jem didn't like to be molly coddled but she couldn't help it to some degree. She felt responsible for him and she had to admit that her choices affected him on some level. Waiting for the coffee to finish percolating, she leaned back in his embrace and laid her arms over Will’s. She hummed contentedly and rested her cheek against his. “We need to keep an eye on him. We can't...over - exert him too much,” she smiled, blushing again at the implication, despite the night before.
“I know darling” Will said, he too always had it at the back of his mind to be more careful with Jem but he went to great pains to hide it. He knew Jem would despise it if he knew. “We’ll be careful, but we cannot treat him like he is any less because of his illness” There was a fine line and that was where they needed to tread.
“I know, and I don't want to ever upset him. I just worry,” Tessa smiled against him and shrugged. “I worry about both of you, you know that,” she teased, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek. “You're not planning on going out patrolling or anything tonight are you?” she asked as they started to sway together gently.
“I know, I worry too” Will told her, stroking her stomach where his hands rested. “Nope, not tonight. Even if we had been I’d have come up with an excuse. I think today we should all be decadent and lazy. Order in, watch movies, make out, easy things”
Tessa laughed at the easy way he reeled off those items, as if they were a shopping list. “Well, I'm not sure how much making out I can give you,” she smiled, feeling daring, turning around in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him closer as she leant back against the cabinet. “I have to admit to a being a little bit sore after last night,” she admitted bashfully, dropping her eyes from his as she did. They had both been wonderful with her and taken their time to make sure she was ready, but having never partaken in that particular activity before, her muscles were protesting from the workout.
Will tensed ever so slightly before leaning in to nuzzle at Tessa, “Sorry” he said softly, “How about instead of making out I run you a bath?” He suggested, even though he knew she was okay part of him couldn’t help but feel guilty at hurting her and on top of seeing how exhausted Jem was there was already a fair amount of guilt resting on his shoulders.
“It's fine, you didn't hurt me or anything. I did research beforehand and it's perfectly normal,” Tessa smiled at him confidently, stroking the soft hair at the nape of his neck. “Perhaps a bath a little later, but for now I would very much like to sit and read with you,” she grinned.
“Research huh? Been watching naughty films without us?” He teased resting his forehead against hers for a moment. “You know that I will always happily do” he smiled, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. It was one of the true pleasures he enjoyed, reading aloud with Tessa snuggled against him. Their love of literature was something they shared completely.
Tessa pretended to gasp in shock when he kissed her. “Naughty films? Why William, I'm appalled you would think that I would stoop to something so base and lewd,” she told him with mock-hurt in her voice. “I read it in books, because you know what they say...” she trailed off, grinning and leaned in closer to whisper against his ear. “There's nothing more powerful than your own imagination,” she gently bit his earlobe to make her point.
Luckily Will knew Tessa well enough to know she was winding him up, though he had been worried for a moment there. “Oh come now, some of them aren’t so bad” he told her with a wink before moaning a little when she leaned in and bit his ear, “I do adore your imagination love”
“Hmm,” Tessa hummed against the skin of his throat as she pressed soft kisses to his skin. “I reckon your imagination is something to contend with though,” she teased, her voice dripping with innuendo as she spoke. She leaned back against the cabinet and took him with her, hands stroking over his neck and shoulders.
“I’ll challenge you one day, we’ll spend the day seeing who can imagine the wildest things” he promised her. His arms wrapped around her, supporting her as he pressed kisses to her neck, “This isn’t conducive to not making out you know” he commented, not that he minded but she had said she was somewhat uncomfortable.
“It's your fault for being so damned attractive,” Tessa told him, gasping in pretend shock since she hardly ever used ‘strong’ language like that. She ran her fingers through his hair and pressed a quick kiss to his nose before pushing him slightly away from her. “Away with you while I finish making the drinks,” she grinned, turning back to the percolator. She loved her life, no matter how strange or crazy it was.
“Ooo I love it when you talk so forcefully” he teased pouting when she pushed him away but moving back as requested. “Love you” he told her pressing a kiss to her neck before moving towards the living room, “We don’t have a book ongoing so what would you like?” He asked from the doorway.
Tessa considered briefly, gazing out the window over the kitchen sink at the beautiful day. Smiling contentedly, she turned to look at him over her shoulder. “Why don’t you surprise me?”
“Your wish is my command” he said with a wink and a flourish before he went to pick a book and wait for her on their sofa.
