Myrcella and Irisa had decided to have a girly evening, they’d put on some random film. Not a chick flick as Myrcella didn’t want to be too mean to Irisa but it had some romance in it but mostly action. They had eaten dinner and were now enjoying hot chocolate while Myrcella braided Irisa’s hair. Her friend was the subject of many photographs for her portfolio and Myrcella was very grateful to her friend.

“So how is training with Alucard going?” She asked, since she hadn’t recently.

Irisa had learned to enjoy the more girly things that Myrcella put her through. It had taken time since Irisa had never really had girl friends growing up, but she was more than happy to help her friend out. Sipping her hot chocolate, Irisa smiled. “It's going really well. He's a good teacher and he pushes my limits too,” she enthused. “After all, without him I would never have looked at, let alone worn that striped outfit!” she joked.

Myrcella laughed as she carefully ran the brush through her friends hair, “I thought you were going to kill him when Nina told you that it wasn’t required anymore” she admitted, “But I’m glad he’s there for you. He seems like a very good man, even if he does give off a scary vibe sometimes”

“Hmm...well, the jury’s still out on whether I've forgiven him about that,” Irisa grumbled and scowled at her hot chocolate. “He is pretty scary,” she chuckled. “That's why we get on so well. We're both pretty scary,” she grinned back over her shoulder at Myrcella innocently.

“You aren’t scary, at least not like he is. You’re capable and strong though, much more than I am. I wouldn’t know how to kick anybody’s ass” Myrcella said, but she knew if anybody ever touched her or hurt her then Jeremy and Myrcella would take care of her.

“I too am scary!” Irisa mock-protested. “And you’re absolutely capable! You'd kick their ass using curling tongs or eyebrow plucking...things,” she joked, wiggling her fingers in front of her. “Maybe I need to get back to scaring people. I've obviously let my reputation slip,” she sighed, running her finger around the lip of her cup to wipe away some stray hot chocolate.

Myrcella laughed, “Death by a beauticians gadgets? I kind of like that” she said, before patting Irisa’s head, “It’s okay. You can be scary to others just not to me. You’re too much of a sweetheart but that’s how I like you. Cute with me and scary with others” she grinned.

“Hmm…” Irisa grumbled, unconvinced, then sighed heavily. She loved her training sessions with Alucard and she knew he was disappointed to some degree that she wasn't putting her innate talents to better use. She was still plagued by Dreams of becoming the Devouring Mother, but she couldn't think of a way to combine her skills with her desire to help people. Except one. Nolan would never let her live it down though and to be honest, she couldn't picture it herself. But Myrcella was optimistic, maybe she could. “Could you...I don't know...see me as a...a cop?” she asked haltingly.

Myrcella found it amusing how Irisa grumbled, it was very endearing. Myrcella thought that it was entirely up to Irisa how she used her skills for a future career, and she knew Alucard would support her friend too. “Oh I think that would be great” she enthused with a nod, “Wouldn’t that be perfect? You get to beat up the bad guys and save the good ones”

Irisa smiled, she knew if anyone were to get it, Myrcella would. “So you think I could do it? I'd probably be the shortest one in the force,” she laughed.

“Shortest but best” Myrcella said, “You’d soon whip them into shape if they presumed to think you were anything less than amazing just because of how small you are”

Irisa chuckled at that, of course Myrcella would have the utmost confidence in her, she always saw the best in people. “Nolan used to call me a little pocket rocket,” she told her with a wistful smile on her face. She missed him. A lot, and she wondered idly if he would approve of her choices.

“I like that” Myrcella said beginning to braid her hair, “It’s very accurate. Have you heard from him lately?” she asked gently. She knew he had good reasons for staying away, wanting Irisa to be settled and the like but she had to admit she’d probably give him some very dirty looks if he came back and maybe ask Jeremy to punch him, just the once.

Irisa shrugged, returning her gaze to the hot chocolate in her hands. “He sends postcards, texts,” she told her. “Sounds like he's on the hunt though so I don't expect much,” she explained. It was fine, she was used to it really. Beside it gave her time and space to find out who she was without him. “If I were a cop I could help him more I guess,” she surmised.

“He’s lucky you’re so understanding and as selfish as it may be I’m glad you’re here. I’d be lost without you now” Myrcella said, “Officer Irisa has a good sound to it you know. I bet Alucard knows somebody you could talk to about it”

Irisa smiled, feeling the same way and enjoying the feeling of Myrcella playing with her hair. It was one of the things she hadn't realised she would enjoy, seeing as Nolan hadn't been one for the girly things in life. “Officer Irisa…” she repeated fondly, a little smile quirking her lips. “I could get used to that,” she grinned. “Thanks Myrcella, you’re the best.”

Myrcella had been so glad when Irisa had first agreed to indulge in a few more girly things, sometimes it was nice to feel a little pampered. “You’re welcome. That’s what best friends are for right? We help each other out and I promise I will always do what I can to help you”

Irisa smiled back at her again and leaned her head back to rest on Myrcella’s stomach. “Thank you, so much,” she told her genuinely. She knew that as long as she had Myrcella around she’d be ok.
