Emma, for all her spiteful bitchiness, couldn't even try to bring Jean down from her high. Happy to see her friend so delighted, Emma did her best to keep her complaints to a minimum. She hadn't spoken badly of the airline staff in spite of the fact that she'd wanted to get into an argument with the stewardess and, as she lifted multiple bags from the carousal, she kept her mouth shut about wanting a bag boy. In spite of the fact that she seems to carry twice the load Jean did, Emma managed to keep her dignity about her, her bags rolling dutifully behind her. She realized that she probably should have brought a date along with her, if just to do heavy lifting. But a vacation to Emma just wasn't as relaxing when she had someone she needed to entertain along with her. And, she'd figured, she would manage to keep from being a third wheel by going away to the spa enough to leave Jean and her doctor friend some time alone.
"Not too far off, I hope," she said after a moment, smiling at Jean and trying to not look put upon. Emma so far had been polite with the good Dr. Smith. She planned to get to know him for the duration of the trip, if only because Jean seemed so interested and Emma made it a habit of keeping up with her best friend. "How long do you think the ride will be?"
