To say that Cosima needed a break from schoolwork was an understatement. Actually it was a lot more than an understatement. She’d been pulling more than a few all nighters lately to work on projects. She even stayed late in the labs more than a few times. But right now? Right now she needed a little breather and to spend some time with Sarah and Felix. And also to eat a decent meal while she had the chance.
At least she’d gotten sleep the night before, so she wasn’t looking so haggard upon arrival. But she was rather hungry and in need of some form of alcohol.
“Hey guys, sorry I’m late. But you know now I’m always kind of late.” She apologized with a sheepish smile.
“We’d be worried if you were on time” Sarah said with a grin, “You look like you need a drink Cos. Everything okay?”
Sarah knew that Cosima had a lot to deal with lately and worried that her sister was taking on too much. She and Fe tried to let her know that they were always there if she needed them but sometimes it was hard, Sarah knew that.
Felix would never turn down hanging out with Sarah and Cosima; especially when it involved drinks, so when it was suggested that they all get together, Felix had made sure that his schedule was free that night then he and Sarah had headed over to the designated meeting spot. Felix had been busy with various clients planning Superbowl parties and Valentine’s Day parties amongst the usual birthday parties and weddings so getting a chance to hang out with his clones was a nice and relaxing change especially after that whole foreboding fog incident.
“I think we all need a drink tonight. Or more.” Felix said, smirking at Cosima as he picked up his menu to decide what he wanted to eat and drink.
“Pretty sure the day I’m on time is the day Hell freezes over,” Cosima joked with a laugh as she took a seat. It was definitely a good thing she and Sarah were the only two from their dreams here. If Alison and Helena were here, passing as quadruplets would be...difficult. But twins? They could totally do twins.
“Oh yeah I’m fine. I mean, kind of overloaded with schoolwork, but I knew going for my doctorate wouldn’t be easy.” If Jemma could do it, so could she. She then eyed Felix a bit with that added comment, a little smirk on her lips. “I wouldn’t say no, exactly, but a drink and food sounds positively amazing right now.” She picked up a menu and looked it over. “How’re you guys doing?”
Twins they could totally get away with. That was easy but yeah if Alison or Helena showed up there might be issues. Still so far there was no sign of them.
“Make sure you take breaks” Sarah said, “You need that brain on top form after all. I’m good, in fact things are pretty settled right now” Kira and John were getting along great, Sarah’s job was steady and Kira was doing well in school.
Part of Felix wanted Alison and Helena to show up, because he really wanted to see how the four of them handled the whole Clone thing for other people. It was easy to pull off twins, but what would they actually do if there were four of them around in real life? Felix thought it would be extremely amusing, if he were honest.
Like Sarah and Cosima, Felix had also been rather busy over the last few weeks, what with so many people planning both Superbowl and Valentine’s Day parties amongst the usual birthdays, anniversaries and weddings and then there was Josh. Felix had met up with the younger man not too long after the fog had cleared and spoke to him when he wasn’t too busy with work, but had yet to mention him to either Sarah or Cosima; partly because he didn’t know exactly what they were at the moment. Sarah knew Felix had gone out with someone on New Year’s Eve, but not who.
Felix nodded in response to what Sarah said, “You know what they say about no work and no play, right, Cosima?”
Part of Cosima was curious how they would play off the quadruplets. Or, god forbid, Rachel showed up. That was something Cosima would seriously hope never happen. They didn’t need Rachel’s brand of crazy and evil around here.
“It makes me a no fun stick in the mud?” She stated as she looked at Felix with an easy smile. “But yeah, trying to take breaks and do things like this. But man, there’s days where I seriously wonder why I decided to put myself through this special brand of hell.” Because it was hell, pure and simple, to get a doctorate. Something that her dream self seemed to have stopped pursuing after she’d ended up at DYAD researching their biology.
“But hey, this is where I am thankful to be healthy and that I can smoke without Jemma giving me that ‘You stop that now’ look.” She chuckled. Obviously she meant smoking pot as that was all she smoked.
If Rachel turned up the others would probably need to stop Sarah from killing her on sight because that bitch had been responsible for so much in their dreams she didn’t want to give her the chance to do anything in the waking world as well.
“You are doing it because you love it and because you’ve come so far now there is no way you’re letting it beat you” Sarah told her with a grin, “And I think we can all drink to good health and good pot” she winked.
“And because when you graduate we’ll all be there to support you and yell your name at inappropriate moments.” Felix smirked and set his menu down, “Please tell me that you’ve gotten Jemma high. If not, we need to fix that immediately.” Felix liked Jemma so much more than Delphine and was extremely glad that Cosima had found someone as cute and sweet with no ulterior motives.
Oddly enough, Cosima probably wouldn’t try to stop Sarah. For one, she doubted anyone could stop Sarah. Well, Siobhan, and Cosima certainly didn’t see her here. For another, Cosima didn’t like Rachel one little bit.
“You’re both right. And I would totally laugh at you yelling my name at inappropriate times.” She said with a laugh. “And no, I haven’t gotten her high yet. Though I’d kind of like to see what she’s like when high.” And Jemma could probably use a little bit of a stress reliever like that. Cosima also liked Jemma way more than she liked Delphine. Jemma had more than proven herself worthy of her trust whereas Delphine had gone and broken her trust. More than once.
And Cosima was just ignoring Shay completely because she had yet to understand how she felt about Shay’s role in her dreams. Aside from the fact Shay had been way better than Delphine, but Cosima had just screwed that whole relationship up. And it left her petrified that she might just screw up her relationship with Jemma in much the same way.
At least if Sarah did kill Rachel then Cosima had connections through her girlfriend to help them dispose of the body without too much issue. That was pretty good incentive.
“I think she’d be pretty cute. She’s tiny so she wouldn’t need much” Sarah pointed out with a grin, she liked Jemma a lot more. She’d proven herself to Sarah when Cosima had been ill and Sarah didn’t forget something like that. She was part of the family as far as she was concerned.
“I feel like we should leave Kira with a sitter and be irresponsible for a night and make sure we get Jemma high.” While Felix didn’t do drugs the way he had when he was younger, after Sarah had run off, he still got high on occasion and had a person he could contact when he needed more weed. There were just some things one couldn’t give up regardless of how much they had matured over the years. He just made sure that Kira wouldn’t be around when he did get high, “What do ya say?”
Cosima definitely could get someone from the Agency to cover up the murder. She’d puppy face at Jemma until Jemma went and asked one of her co-workers to help. Or puppy face at the co-workers until they couldn’t resist.
She pretended to think about it. Pretended being the operative word because really, she didn’t need to think about the answer. But she was attempting to give off the facade of trying to decide how Jemma might feel about it. And, well, okay she was still thinking about that, but Jemma clearly wasn’t so against pot since she’d known Cosima smoked it now and then.
“I think we should totally do this. I kinda really want to see what she’s like when she’s high.” Cosima couldn’t suppress the giggle.
“It’s agreed then. I’ll sort Kira out and Operation High Jemma can commence” Sarah said with a grin, in truth she was looking forward to it as well. She didn’t tend to partake with Kira around, trying to be the responsible mum and all that but she figured letting her hair down sometimes was a good thing.
“I love the sound of that plan.” Felix grinned and opened his menu again to the drinks section. He was looking forward to getting Sarah high again as well as seeing Jemma high for the first time and with three pot experts such as themselves, he knew Jemma would be in good hands. “But first drinks.”
“I approve of this plan.” Cosima grinned. She would try to time it for when Jemma wasn’t as stressed with things. If that was ever going to be a thing, but she’d at least try to choose a time when Jemma wouldn’t be prone to snapping at her upon finding out pot was being involved. Not that she’d ever snapped at her over using pot, but she’d gotten the pointed look once or twice after she’d gotten sick if she made comments of wanting to smoke some weed.
“Definitely drinks first. I totally need one, man.” Cosima tended to opt for wine, but tonight she felt like she needed something stronger. Something that could help unwind her a bit more than wine could. And maybe even allow her to sleep a bit more than she had been of late.
