"Yeah. The whole place started to look really rundown and ragged. And it wasn't just my place - there was somebody else on the network talking about it with their place. Then the fog cleared up and everything went back to normal." The whole thing sounded insane when she said it outloud but it was the truth.
"It's always right at the corner of my vision. I turn to look and there's nothing there. Just like with the voices today." She saw the parking lot she'd left her car in just up ahead and took a relieved breath. "My car's right there," she said, pointing at the little blue car in a corner spot. She'd gotten lucky finding that spot.
