Blake wasn't the slightest bit surprised. He also wasn't deterred.
"You lost your parents, in that world, but the stories were the same in the papers. Playboy, wastrel, y'know. But when you came, I saw it in your eyes. I saw it then." He laughed, very quietly, looking down at his hands.
"That same anger. That same knowledge that this world was messed up, and no one was going to fix it." He looked back up at Wayne. "And the same look I see right now. That determination to make it better. Somehow."
