Who: Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass
What: Blair has had more dreams and wants to talk to Chuck about them
When: Backdated: Mid January
Where: Victrola
Rating/Warnings: Family Friendly
Status: Complete

Since she had started dreaming, Blair had kept a low profile when it came to Chuck. After dreaming about losing her virginity to Chuck not long after he himself apparently had had the same dream, Blair hadn’t known how she was going to face him again. Throw in the forced kiss and Blair had no idea what to do. She had thought that going with him to the opening of his club would keep things normal, but then of course she’d had to dream about having sex with him. However, to her disappointment, Blair had had more dreams and now she was insistent on finding Chuck.

He’d taken off for Monaco in the dreams and wasn’t answering her calls, which infuriated her there and worried her as well, because the last thing she wanted was for Nate to find out what had happened between her and Chuck. Deciding that talking to him over the phone wouldn’t do, she decided to go by Victrola and see if he was there.

Chuck was a little farther along in the dreams than Blair. Yes he had tormented her about telling Nate what happened between the two of them when he was in Monaco with the guy, but he didn’t and wouldn’t actually tell him. As much as it clearly hurt seeing Blair back with him, Chuck didn’t want to jeopardize his friendship with Nate. However there was a pregnancy scare and when the father of Blair’s possible baby was in question Nate found out about the two of them and attacked him. Followed by Nate and Blair breaking up and Chuck telling her he was done with her.

Since that dream he was trying not to think about it all. The last time he had broached the subject with Blair it seemed as if she still thought all the dreamers were insane (and honestly even with dreams of his own he still wasn’t sure he was buying into the whole thing.) Even if he could talk to Blair about it all he wasn’t sure he wanted to. He had treated her horribly. So as usual Chuck was throwing himself into his work.

Usually during the day he was in his office or checking in on the hotels but today he was at Victrola. So far it was a huge success and he wanted to make sure it stayed that way. He was overseeing a rehearsal for the dancers, drink in hand when Blair walked in. Well that was certainly a surprise. “Couldn’t stay away?” he asked with a smirk.

Part of Blair hadn’t expected Chuck to be there, but at the same time she’d known that Victrola was most likely where she would find him. As she walked into the club she was suddenly reminded of the part of her dream when she’d come there and danced on stage not long before her and Chuck had had sex in the back of his limo.

Spotting Chuck, she approached him and crossing her arms over her chest, “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” Of course she had no real excuse for being there other than wanting to see him. She really should have thought this out before she’d come over.

Chuck vividly recalled the night Blair danced on the stage of Victrola in the dreams. And yes he hoped it was an experience he could witness for himself, in real life. But he wasn’t sure if the real Blair had that wild side to her.

“You’re here aren’t you?” Chuck replied the smirk still on his face. He raised his hand signalling over the bartender. (Just because it wasn’t technically open didn’t mean he didn’t have people working.) “What are you having?” he asked Blair before ordering himself another scotch.

He had a point that she couldn’t exactly deny. “Fine. I’m here.” Sighing, she ordered a cocktail and took a seat beside Chuck, leaving some space between them. Sitting next to him only reminded her of being in the back of that limo and now that she was there, she wasn’t entirely sure how that made her feel, “So, about those dreams.” She cocked her head to the side, eyes cast up towards the ceiling as she averted them from Chuck and sighed once again, “I think I’ve had a few of them.”

Well that certainly got Chuck’s attention. Quite the change from the last time Chuck had attempted to broach the subject. “Have you?” he asked just as the bartender brought over their drinks. He took a sip of his before glancing back over at her. “What makes you say that?” he was definitely going to need a better frame of reference before he even thought about bringing up his own again. However his eyes did wander from her to the stage and back again. It was difficult not to think about that dream.

Blair sighed and turned her attention back on Chuck, “Yes, I have.” Part of her thought that this had been a big mistake, but she knew that she’d needed to do this. “Because they felt more like memories than regular dreams.” The memory of having sex with Chuck suddenly came back, fresher than ever and she got the sudden urge to just leave, but Blair Waldorf didn’t run away from a problem. She pretended things didn’t affect her, but she didn’t run away from them.

Although Chuck knew exactly what Blair meant he wasn’t about to let her know that. No, it was far more fascinating to find out just how much Blair remembered first. “Well,” Chuck said with another sip of his drink. “Tell me about these memories.”

She should have known that this wouldn’t be easy. That Chuck would make it as difficult as he possibly could, “If you’ve had the same dreams then you know that we live in New York and we’re in high school. Serena and the others are there too.” She took a sip of her drink, “Need I say more?” Was he really going to make her say what he already knew?

It sounded like they were dreaming the same thing. Still there was no telling how much Blair had dreamed and Chuck wasn’t about to be the one to cave first. That was never his style. However he would give her something. “And a bitch called Gossip Girl reports on us all,” he added with another sip of his drink. There Blair had it he was at least admitting to the dreams. “But please go on.”

“I’m just glad that we never had anyone like Gossip Girl in real life.” It was extremely annoying having someone anonymously telling everyone your secrets and Blair hoped that they eventually found out who was doing it, because she’d have a few choice words for that person, “Well you should know that you opened Victrola in the dreams as well. I’ll admit, it was a little more impressive there considering we’re still in highschool.” That should have told Chuck all he needed to know.

Chuck gave a small nod of agreement to that. The bitch really knew how to make a mess of things. It was how Nate found out about him and Blair. Although he liked to torture Blair with the thought of Nate finding out he would have preferred to keep that their dirty little secret. Nate was basically his only friend other than Blair after all.

He couldn’t help but smirk at the mention of Victrola. Opening night here had actually been more successful money wise. But nothing topped the success of it in the dreams and seeing Blair dance like that. “You were more impressive there as well,” Chuck shot back only half teasing her.

Blair’s brows rose, clearly offended, “I was more impressive in the dreams? I’m sorry, you’ve obviously got me confused with someone else.” Part of Blair wanted to get up and leave right then and there, but she wasn’t going to let Chuck get to her. Besides, she was mostly sure that he was just trying to rile her up on purpose.

Clearly he had struck a chord. The smirk remained on his face even though Blair was clearly unhappy with the statement. “Oh yeah, it must have been another Blair Waldorf that danced that night,” he said flat out no longer dancing around the subject or trying to make her spill first. Chuck loved games but if they were going to talk about these dreams might as well be honest.

“Well, that’s definitely not going to happen in this life,” Blair said, picking up her drink and taking a sip before getting to her feet; she was pretty sure it was time to leave now. “I just thought I’d come by and let you know that I’ve started dreaming and now I have so I should let you get back to...whatever it was you were doing.”

He hadn’t meant to upset Blair. But of course he thought about her dance and yes he wanted to see it for real. Clearly that wasn’t going to happen though. “Have a nice day, Waldorf,” he replied picking up his own drink and finishing it off. He had a feeling if she stayed things would just get worse for them anyway and he didn’t want to drive her away. He’d find a way to make this encounter up to her later.
