Who: Anna of Arendelle, Ezra Fitz What: Silent Hill Plot Where: Ezra’s Place When: Day 1 of the plot Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete
Anna brought breakfast burritos to Ezra’s place. It was Friday. Anna didn’t have class and Ezra didn’t teach class, so they’d made plans to spend the day together. What better way to start a day than with some mochas and breakfast burritos? But on her way into the apartment building, she noticed some weird fog rolling in over the hills. Anna was fairly simple-minded when it came to these sorts of things, so she didn’t think twice about it. She knocked on Ezra’s door, then held up the bag and the drink tray with a grin when he opened it.
“Hey,” Ezra greeted with a smile of his own on his face stepping back to let her inside. “Let me help,” he added grabbing the tray of drinks from her. “How are your eight classes going?” he asked as as as as as he walked further into the apartment setting the coffees down on his counter.
“Pretty good. I didn’t bring any of my homework today, though,” Anna beamed at him as she followed him into the apartment. After closing the door behind herself, she set the burritos down on the counter. Then, hands free, she moved over to wrap her arms around Ezra and give him a hug in greeting. “How are your classes going?”
“A whole day without homework?” Ezra gave his best shocked face. “Has hell frozen over?” he teased returning her hug. “They’re fine. Starting to get papers back so busier on the whole grading front,” he shrugged once he had pulled away from the hull and picked up one of the coffees taking a sip.
“No, but I’m sure that my sister could make that happen.” Anna said, smirking softly. “Well, I’ll have to take advantage of having a slightly less busy Ezra today.” She picked up one of the burritos and unwrapped half of it so she could start eating. “So… what do we have planned? I saw some really bizarre fog rolling in over the hills on the way here.”
Ezra had to laugh at that. Of course Elsa could make hell freeze over. “I think your schedule is much busier than mine,” Ezra shot back picking up the other breakfast burrito to unwrap. She was the one taking eight classes after all. Sure Ezra taught the same amount but only five different subjects. “Really?” he asked setting down his burrito and walking over to the window to look at the fog. “It does look intense.”
“Maybe. But I’ll still make time to bring burritos over.” A little grin crossed Anna’s features a she stepped closer to him to nudge her shoulder against his. “I think we should make a ritual out of this. Friday morning breakfast. It’d be a great way to start the weekend.” She beamed, then moved with him to the window. “...it’s pretty ominous. Do you think it’s safe?”
“Aria and I do something similar in the dreams,” Ezra commented. Saturday mornings were for coffee, pastries, and cartoons because they couldn’t be seen in public. He wasn’t sure that was something he wanted to repeat here. “We have to keep our relationship private. High school student and teacher.” It was probably the most he had told Anna about it all. It wasn’t like it was something he was proud of and here he was doing practically the same thing.
“Probably,” he commented eyes still looking out the window. “It might just be difficult to drive in.” He’d seen worse weather back East. Or when it had snowed last month.
Well, if it was something he did with Aria… Anna wasn’t sure she wanted to do it, either. And the way he was talking about his relationship with Aria in the Dreams… as if it was currently happening? She didn’t like that, either. “Nevermind, then. Maybe we should have Friday night dinner-and-dancing dates instead.”
She leaned against the window frame and stared out at the fog just starting to settle. It was thick, and as she watched she thought she could see it thicken over the street and buildings nearby.
That certainly sounded like a better option to him. Although he wasn’t sure about the dancing part. Clubbing with college students wasn’t exactly his scene. It was probably best Anna kept doing that with her friends or the other guys she seemed to meet.
“I think we can make that work,” Ezra agreed looking out at the fog. It did seem a bit thick. “Gives you the whole day to do your homework too,” he added with a grin. “But we already have all of today ahead of us, so what would you like to do?”
Anna wasn’t sure she’d want to take Ezra to a club. But a fancy place? With live music and ballroom dancing? That was way more her normal style. The going out to clubs and dancing with random guys was very much not Anna.
“Well, we should definitely finish breakfast first.” Anna said, moving back over to the burrito to pick it up. “And then maybe cuddle up and watch a movie? Or read? Or do homework together? You don’t have many papers to grade yet, do you?”
“I thought I was getting a whole day without homework,” he teased. He did have some papers to grade but he had the rest of the weekend for that. “We can watch a movie, I’ll even let you pick.” She had to be getting tired of his French films by now. “Probably best to stay inside today,” he said with one last look out the window before grabbing his burrito and coffee and setting them on the coffee table. Better spot for the whole movie watching plan.
Anna blushed. “Sorry, I guess I can’t completely give up on homework.” She shrugged, sheepishly grinning at him. “Oh, I’ve got a dvd in my trunk, actually.” She turned to head toward the door. “...remember how I was talking about Cloud Atlas and how I wanted to watch the movie? I ordered it from Amazon and when it came in the mail, I popped it into my trunk.”
Ezra honestly wasn’t surprised. But he did like the fact that she was dedicated to her schoolwork. “I didn’t think so,” he teased. But the next thing she said took him a bit by surprise. He wasn’t expecting her to say she had a DVD in the trunk. He honestly just figured she would pick something on Netflix. But he did say he would let her choose so Cloud Atlas from the trunk of her car it was.
“I’ll go with you,” he offered. “Make sure you don’t get lost in the fog,” he was teasing again because well Anna was a little bit of a klutz. But when they got outside he realized the fog was thicker than he thought. “Where’d you park?” he asked unable to spot her car.
Anna chuckled softly at the tease. It wasn’t like it was far from his front door to her car. How could she get lost? But still, the sentiment was nice. She liked that he was protective of her. “It’s over here.” She said, and motioned with her arm. The fog was so thick she could barely see her fingertips on her outstretched hand. “Wow. It’s pretty… cloudy.” She glanced over at Ezra, feeling silly for being a little frightened. “Hold my hand?”
The fog was thick it was hard to make out Anna. However he could barely see her hand. He did manage to grab onto it though with a chuckle. This weather was just ridiculous. “Let’s get the DVD and get back inside.”
