Who: Myrcella and Jeremy When: December Where: Their home What: Alternate Christmas plans Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete
The plan had been for Myrcella and Jeremy to spend Christmas with Myrcella’s family in the UK before returning home for New Year celebrations with their friends. But the weather had scuppered that idea just as it had a couple of years ago when Myrcella had attempted to go home. So instead they were at home cuddled on the sofa with the dog watching Christmas movies.
“I spoke to mum and she said we have to skype her on the day and make plans for Easter” she said, part of her was looking forward to being here at home but part of her was sad that she wouldn’t get to see Tommen.
Jeremy hadn’t really been surprised that their flight had gotten cancelled, after all it was just his luck that blizzard would come through the day they were supposed to leave, but if he were honest, Jeremy was kind of glad that they weren’t going to England. Not because he was afraid of Myrcella’s mother or anything like that, but because he was still worried about his sisters and knew that without him around, they would be spending Christmas separately. Sure, even with him home, they still might not spend it together, but he could hope that he could convince them both to come to the same place for Christmas.
“We just have to hope that nothing crazy happens then to prevent us from flying then.” There was no telling what could happen in Orange County in the next few months, but hopefully if anything did happen it wouldn’t prevent them from traveling.
“I really hope not. Tommen was pretty upset when I told him that we couldn’t come” Myrcella said and that had made her feel terrible. She knew things weren’t easy for her little brother though apparently Joffrey had found himself a girlfriend so that was distracting him from being so mean all the time.
Jeremy felt bad for whatever girl was dating Myrcella’s older brother. They had only met a handful of times, but there was definitely something about Joffrey that Jeremy hadn’t liked, “Have you asked your mom about letting Tommen come out here? Maybe in the summer?” Irisa might have had the second bedroom in the beach house, but he was sure they could find a place for Tommen if he came to visit.
If she was honest Myrcella felt sorry for the girl too but if it kept him from harassing Tommen then she was happy. “Not yet but if you’re okay with it then I would love to invite him out here” though she would possibly ask her dad first since he was more likely to say yes and then he’d have to talk round her mum.
“Yeah, I don’t mind. He’s your brother and this was your place first.” Jeremy said, glancing around the living room for a moment before bringing his gaze back to Myrcella, “It wouldn’t be fair of me to to tell you that you can’t have your brother come visit.”
“But it’s our home now so you get just as much say as I do” Myrcella told him, pressing a kiss to his cheek, “Thank you, and don’t worry nothing in me would ever wish to invite Joffrey here” she added, because in her eyes she had one true brother and that was her baby one.
“With the luck that I have, Joffrey would probably become friends with Damon.” From the things he’d heard about Myrcella’s brother from the dreams, he seemed like the sort that Damon would hang out with both in and out of the dreams.
“You know I think you’re right” Myrcella nodded, “They’d probably get along well” Myrcella disliked Damon too thanks to how he’d treated her boyfriend and he always tried to seem so charming it seemed false to her.
“And that’s the last thing we need.” Jeremy could only imagine Joffrey somehow finding out about Damon being a vampire, most likely from Damon himself and then asking to be one. Sure, Jeremy didn’t know this for sure, but he had a pretty good feeling that that was what it would be like if Joffrey and Damon became friends. “But Tommen. He’s good. He can come visit.” Jeremy smiled at Myrcella then leaned in to give her a quick kiss.
Myrcella was thinking along the same lines and the idea of Joffrey being powerful and immortal was kind of terrifying. “Tommen is good and I do miss him” she admitted returning the kiss and snuggling in.
Jeremy wrapped his arm around Myrcella, pulling her in close to his body, “Do you ever wish you’d moved back with them? Instead of staying here with your uncle?” Sometimes Jeremy couldn’t help but feel bad that she had stayed behind for him instead of going with her family, but he supposed that was natural since he had lost his own parents and didn’t want Myrcella to waste any time she could be spending with hers.
“No” she said immediately, “I love being here with you and my friends and working on my building my career” she told him. “I need to live my own life and that life is here. I do miss mum and Tommen sometimes but they’re only a phonecall away. I wouldn’t change anything” she added leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek.
Jeremy smiled, happy that Myrcella was happy. That’s all he really cared about. “I’m glad you’re happy here,” He still wanted her to be able to see her family more, but it was her choice to be there with him and he wasn’t going to question that too much.
