Who: Caleb Rivers, Peter Pan, Raven What: Raven heals Caleb When: 19 December 2015 Where: Hospital Warnings: Mentions of gunshot wound Status: Log | Complete
Caleb hadn’t been out of surgery for very long. The gunshot wound wasn’t fatal, obviously since he was still alive though he was missing his spleen. His side was all bandaged up but he wasn’t feeling any pain at the moment thanks to all the drugs he was on. They were also making him a bit out of it. He was in and out of sleep a lot. He did remember talking to Hanna briefly assuring her that he was okay and urging her to go home and get some rest as well as cleaned up. He wasn’t a fan of seeing her covered in his blood.
Of course he missed her already but he needed his rest too and knowing Hanna she would be back soon enough demanding the nurses let her see him. He smiled at the thought and as if thinking about it made it happen he heard someone else in his room. He opened his eyes expecting to see his girlfriend. Because really who else knew he was here?
When Peter had gotten the text that Caleb had been shot he instantly thought that he should try and help his friend out. This was completely unexpected and he wasn’t even sure what to do, but he was completely stressed out by the whole thing. The first person that he could think of to reach out to was Raven and even though he had no idea where the two of them stood he knew she was a good person. He explained the situation and wondered if she could be able to assist in Caleb’s healing. He offered to give her a ride to the hospital because the last thing Caleb needed was someone to portal into his hospital room.
Once things had been figured out that was where he currently was. He had asked the woman at the main desk what room Caleb was in and made his way there with Raven and was surprised that Hanna wasn’t in the room with him at the moment. “Dude, what the hell happened?” he questioned when he noticed that Caleb had opened his eyes. He got up from his seat and moved closer to the bed.
Raven had been confused initially when she felt a spike of emotion and she couldn’t quite place the person behind it. It was familiar but not familiar. It was odd. But she’d gotten her answer soon enough when Peter had called her to let her know what had happened and to see if she could help. Add another strange thing though she had mentioned she did healings in the very awkward rambling that had happened after her vocabulary lesson.
So of course she’d help. It wasn’t like she hated him. He just annoyed and confused her but she had already decided that he wasn’t horrible so she might as well see if she could at least be friends with him. And even if she hadn’t known him or hated him, she wasn’t going to let that stop her from helping someone.
Rides were appreciated. It wasn’t like she’d know who the hell she was looking for if she just portaled into the room. And depending on how extensive the healing was, she didn’t know if she’d have the energy to portal back. No, it was easier just to get a ride and see what was going on. Thus the goth teen was meeting Caleb. In a hospital room. For now though, she’d let the two talk and stand to the side awkwardly.
Well that certainly wasn’t Hanna. But hey, Peter was almost as good. However he had no clue who the hell the girl with him was. Hopefully his getting shot hadn’t interrupted anything with Peter.
“I got shot,” Caleb replied. He was about to attempt to sit up but that didn’t seem like a good idea at the moment. “In the dreams. It carried over. Lucky me.” Not much he could do about it now though. “I was lucky Hanna was there to call 911,” although he had been somewhat conscious at first so maybe he could have done it himself if that was the only option. But he was kind of glad Hanna had been there even though it meant worrying her. “Who’s the girl?” Because that was the important thing to focus on at the moment.
“What the fuck,” he muttered under his breath. He had heard about things like that, but actually seeing it in person was a whole different beast. Dream injuries bleeding over was incredibly scary and he honestly hoped that it wouldn’t happen to him. Especially if he ended up getting shot because Caleb looked awful (sorry, dude). “You could have picked a better time to sleep, man, nothing good happens this early in the morning. At least you’re alive.” That was the main blessing and he could deal with the early wake up call. However, when Caleb questioned Raven he lightly blushed, “Um, that’s Raven. She’s got healing powers and I asked her to come help you, if you want it.”
Really, it was a good thing that Raven was a dreamer because Caleb’s comment about it being something he’d dreamt that had crossed over would have made no sense to a random girl who wasn’t from the network. So, first to see if Peter covered who she was or if she would need to do her own introductions.
Nope. Peter covered it. And mentioned the healing powers. Even if she had to bite back a comment at the fact he’d seemed shocked someone could get injured from them. He had Peter Pan things and she had to keep a glamour on when out because of her dreams, not to mention her abilities.
“It won’t hurt.” It was more her taking the injury and using her energy to heal the damage and then she’d just sleep for a bit. And it wasn’t the first time she’d done it. Even recent gunshot wounds which were at least easier to heal when they were non-lethal unlike some of the healing she had done.
“Sorry for inconveniencing you,” Caleb replied attempting to smirk. He was surprised he was able to function as much as he was doing right now after everything that had happened. Oh good, someone with healing powers. Of course that was a thing. Things were just getting stranger. But whatever. He wasn’t going to say no to being healed. Even though he wasn’t feeling much pain at the moment (thanks morphine) he did remember how much it hurt when he initially got shot.
But wait, Raven? That was the girl Peter had told him about. Caleb would have to ask him about it later though. It was a good thing she was a dreamer though with Caleb’s previous comment. Not that he was thinking much about what he was saying or remembering to filter with the drugs he was on. “Uh…” was all he said because the whole healing thing was weird. “What exactly are you going to do? Do I have to drink a potion or something?” Because what did Caleb know about getting healed.
That was not a question that Peter was able to answer, so he turned his head towards Raven so that she could explain. Hopefully it wouldn’t be anything horrible. A potion would be easy, but he didn’t think that’s how she healed. He assumed it had something to do with her energy and he was ready to help her out if it took too much out of her. He just wanted Caleb to be okay and not be in pain anymore because no one deserved to have a dream injury bleed over and hurt them for no reason.
“No. No potions.” Not her thing. She knew there was someone in the magic guild who did those, but Raven tried to keep to herself and she was pretty sure it was the anti-social one who only spoke to her aunt. Whatever. How to explain the healing process. “Basically I use energy to repair the damage and then you’re fine.” That was the simplest explanation. Basic terms. Not going into the specifics.
Caleb had no clue about how people healed others with magic. Neal had mentioned a magic defibrillator to him before but really all that magic shit just went over Caleb’s head. Though he knew supernatural dreams existed there was nothing supernatural about Rosewood. It was difficult for him to grasp the concept still.
“Energy. Right.” Because that made a lot of sense. He looked from Peter to Raven. “If Peter thinks it’s a good idea and he trusts you then I guess the healing thing isn’t such a bad idea…” he looked back over at Peter for confirmation.
“She’s never healed me, but I do trust her,” Peter answered with a smile and held his hand out, “Scout’s honor.” He did completely trust Raven and he knew that she would help Caleb as best as she could. He moved over to the other side of the bed to allow Raven full access to Caleb, “If something goes wrong I give you full permission to kill me.”
People trusting her. Still weird. Instead she just moved to the bed and quirked a brow at him since she had no idea who that was towards before looking at Caleb, “I’ve brought people back from just being dead. This is nothing.” Well not nothing. It was still going to be a massive drain on her, but not near the length it had been when she’d healed Neal or Dick. Still, she waited until she got a sign that she could start the healing and only once she had it, did she begin.
Purple and black energy crackled around her as her soul-self took the shape of a raven around her and engulfed the two, transferring the injury to herself and repairing the damage Caleb had sustained. Only once he was healed did the energy die down and the raven return to the teen who blinked repeatedly to get her bearings straight. Yep. Exhausting. But not most draining. She’d just need to rest soon.
That wasn’t something you saw every day. But hey he felt better so at least there was that. No matter how weird the circumstances were. Once it was done he looked between the two of them again. “Thanks...” he said to Raven before looking back over at Peter and raising a brow. So this was the girl he had a thing for? Well she did come heal one of Peter’s friends that she didn’t even know so at least she was nice but this whole situation was just weird. “I don’t think I need to kill you. I feel better. But I’m not sure about your friend,” he frowned slightly noticing how drained Raven looked.
Wow. Peter was staring with wide eyes, but he managed to keep his mouth closed as he watched Raven work. That was not at all what he was expecting and he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. This may be one of the strangest things he had seen and his dreams took place on a fantasy island. When he caught the look of exhaustion on her face he rushed over to her as Caleb mentioned it as well. “Woah there, Raven,” he wrapped his arms around her to help hold her up and turned to Caleb, “I’m glad you’re feeling better. Hopefully you can get out of here soon.”
And suddenly there was a person keeping her more upright. “M’fine.” Exhausted and drained, but fine. Definitely not the worst she’d been following a healing. Now she just needed to rest and she would be fine in a few hours. It sounded like Caleb was fine now though. Which admittedly she knew he would be. Unless her powers suddenly failed or something happened to her, he would be fine.
“Yeah, this room doesn’t have the best decor,” he replied with a smirk. Despite what Raven said she didn’t look fine. At least Caleb didn’t think so, but then what did he know? He had met the girl once. “I’ll keep you posted. Or Hanna will.” Though it would probably be him now that he was feeling more like himself. He was also just assuming Hanna was the one that told Peter he was here, because how else would he know? “For now I think you should get her home,” he looked back over at Raven. “Thanks again for whatever that was.”
Peter couldn’t help but grin at Caleb’s comments. At least he knew that his friend still had his sense of humor and his wits about him. It was incredibly scary to imagine what could have happened, but at least Raven was willing to help out and now Caleb would be on the mend a lot faster than anticipated. He was still holding onto Raven when Caleb commented she should go home and he gave a nod, “Yeah, we better head out of here. Just make sure to keep me updated and now I have your girlfriend’s number, so you better watch out.” He wiggled his eyebrows playfully before turning towards Raven, “Can you walk or do you want me to carry you? I also would consider a piggy back ride if you truly want it.”
“You’re welcome.” Because what else was there to say? But she wasn’t about to protest leaving. She didn’t really know Caleb and she was mostly focused on staying conscious at the moment. So she was ignoring the conversation about girlfriends and staying updated at least until Peter turned his attention to her, the comment met with a quirked brow. “I can walk.” Pride, stubbornness, who knew. But she wasn’t so drained that she was incapable of walking. “You owe me waffles later though.” Still, leaving was definitely a good plan.
Caleb just laughed at Peter’s comment about Hanna. There was no way that was happening. Not only was it clear that Peter was way into the girl that had just healed Caleb, but he also trusted both Hanna and Peter. “I’ve been warned,” he replied jokingly. “Now get out of here and get the girl some waffles.”
