Tony knew that it was only a matter of time until this thing went nuclear. Half the damn city seemed to be dreaming now of being a superhero or magician. People in London jumping around in costumes, Ollie Queen outright saying he was the Green Arrow.

Didn't seem like most people were going for the whole 'secret identity' thing. Fine by him.

Working on the upcoming Starkscreens (patent pending, release date early September), he turned to Bruce.

"So, had a dream about you, buddy."

Bruce was doing his best to ignore the whole dream problem. It was just easier to deal with it that way. Maybe he would be one of the lucky ones. Maybe he'd dream about stuff and it wouldn't happen to him. Maybe he wouldn't turn into a green rage monster.

Bruce turned his attention to Tony and looked at him over his glasses. "Oh no," he said. "Please tell me it wasn't a dirty one."

	Even being in Tony's hypothetical sex dreams freaked Bruce out. Bruce raised his eyebrows at Tony and then turned to give the other man his full attention. Bruce considered it for a moment. A very large part of him wanted to fight tooth and nail on the subject, but he knew that Tony was right. The government hadn't exactly handled the fuzzball situation... well, at all. It was the people in Orange County... the ones having the dreams that got rid of them.

"I'm not sure you grasp the gravity of what you're asking these people to do. It would be basically working outside of the law. It just so happens the government doesn't like that very much. Even when those people are saving the world."

Tony nodded, knowing Bruce had a valid point. Probably the only valid one left.

"Yeah. Which is why I'm going to be the face. The one with his name out there, the one the goverment can get on. I can defend myself." $9.5 Billion dollars (with stock options increasing daily) helped with that. A lot.

"I'll stand in the way so everyone else can sort out without the government up their asses."

"Yeah, I remember," Bruce replied. He couldn't really help the smile at the memory. It was a stupid night. He completely blamed Tony for the whole ordeal too.

"Hey, that just means we've got an in, doesn't it? I'd like to stay out of jail if it's at all possible and there's no way your girlfriend is going to agree to letting you take the fall for everything. It's worth a shot anyway."

Bruce probably was right. On all fronts.

Especially that tricky girlfriend front.

"Okay. So I talk to Fury." He eyed Bruce carefully. "You in, Buddy? And don't fob me off on that whole... thing. The hulking thing. That's not how you were in with my dreams. I need someone to speak my language." He said it with a grin, but that'd been the exact way he'd said it.

True in so many ways.

Luckily, Tony had an ace in that hole.

"No, that'd be Loki." It actually was bothering Tony a lot more than he was acknowledging, even to himself.

"Loki, a visitor from Asgard who came to fuck our shit up. That's what we were working on. He stole something, and we were trying to get it back. Oh, and Fury was lying to us." He shrugged. "You were there to help find it. Y'know. With Science."

	Bruce wasn't so convinced, but he knew if he kept arguing Tony would only convince him anyway. He would rather skip that step. "I'm in," he said and then added, "...tentatively. He slapped Bruce on one shoulder, grinning. "C'mon, Banner. You know we make a good team."

For a second, Tony almost sobered.

"Couldn't have built this without you." He meant all of it. Stark Industries really should be called Stark-Banner, even if Bruce would have skinned him for it.

	Bruce let out a little amused breath of air and shook his head as Tony slapped him on the back. What was he getting himself into? He was right though. They were a good team.
