There had been a flutter in her stomach as soon as she found the suit. She found herself denying it at first. It couldn't be hers, never mind it would fit like a glove and the weight of it along with the creases in the leather were more familiar to her than anything else she had ever known. Even so she found it easy to deny that this was hers, that the handle of the bullwhip felt comfortable in her hand because that was the sort of woman she played at being.
The world turned, folded inside itself and became something new the moment she gave in and put the suit on. She felt alive, electrified and memories long embedded and hidden in muscle awoke pushing her to move, forced her out and...
The fugue felt good. Dressed as the cat Selina's everyday conscious mind took the backseat and something else, something better, something she had always been rushed forward to take the driver's seat.
Motion sensors, cameras and a light - someone was trying for security and as she danced her way around the small obstacles Selina thought about leaving her business card. No, no, surely the owner of such a fine home would learn their lesson when they found the glass case housing a first edition of Pride and Prejudice empty. And the diamond necklace? Such a pretty thing. Surely they'd miss that most of all.
Still, they had done infinitely better than her second stop. A picture perfect home that spoke of money and knowledge, this one knew how to make an impression had gone through the effort to make the home comfortable and coveted. She came through the window, slipped in like a shadow and took the first thing she set eyes on.
The Lion Hunt deserved better than this and Selina knew exactly where to put it. She didn't care if Eric would appreciate the new addition to his collection or not.
Temporarily sated and with the sun coming up over the horizon the cat wandered home and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
