Between getting her cast off and also dreaming that Mona was the one behind all the torture and blackmail, Hanna had been in a confusion of emotions because the betrayal had stuck hard even though it was simply a dream. In theory. She already knew that they were more than that but sometimes the emotional bleed over was still hard to deal with. Honestly all she could do was hope that it was over now. Hopefully they would be able to go into their senior year in the dreams and be fine.
Really, it wasn’t so surprising that she and Caleb had finally consummated their relationship now that she was out of a cast. Sex in a cast would have been awkward and there had been plenty of jokes about how she needed to get out of it already. It had been a much welcomed experience and it kept her from thinking about Mona.
It had been a really good night and she was quite comfortable where she was at the moment, not wanting to get up even though she knew she would need to in order to get ready for class. But for now, just laying in bed was good.
The previous night was well worth the wait. He still felt a little awkward after his confession to Hanna and her not saying it back, but their relationship still seemed to be going strong and last night was a definite indication of that. But of course as soon as things were good with Hanna in the real world he had more dreams of Rosewood and they broke up, again. Caleb even left Rosewood going to see his mother who had just been a car accident and he was fairly certain there was something Hanna wasn’t telling him. But he didn’t want to think about that. He had Hanna in real life, in his bed. That was what mattered.
“Morning,” he greeted her a large smile on his face as he pulled her to him for a kiss. “Have I mentioned how glad I am that your cast is off?”
Definitely worth the wait. And while she was worried she had done her specialty of self sabotage, things were still going strong despite her lack of saying she loved Caleb back. It was more fear and self preservation than anything and she didn’t want to jinx things. But things were back on track and that was the important thing. Looking over, Hanna smiled as she returned the kiss.
“Morning.” And then she laughed some. “Yes, yes you have. But I am definitely happy it’s off as well.”
He was probably going to say it a lot more too. And he did feel a little better about things. Even if Hanna didn’t love him it was clear she wanted to continue their relationship. He was trying not to dwell on the whole ‘I love you’ issue. Not when everything else was going so great. Like the previous night.
“No more dream injuries. Or any injuries.” Caleb told her that smile still on his face. He wasn’t about to go through that torture again. Plus he really hated seeing Hanna hurt in general. “Now what do you want for breakfast?”
Not dwelling on the ‘I love you’ issue was a good plan as Hanna was doing the same. There were too many complicated layers to that which the blonde didn’t want to go through and jinx by thinking about it. No, she was going to focus on the here and now and just enjoy her time with Caleb and let actions speak louder than words.
“No more dream injuries or injuries. Noted.” She laughed because really, it was a good declaration. Not that they ever had actual say on it. But Hanna was more than content to pretend that they did. She was not thrilled at the notion of being injured again from the dreams because that would be lame. “Hmm…. I don’t know.” That was when she noticed the time. Well, she had a bit of time before she had to be at school. “Something light.” Because she couldn’t eat much in the morning after waking up.
“Cereal?” he asked kissing her cheek before getting out of bed and putting on his boxers. Perhaps they should have waited till the weekend when she didn’t have to go to classes and he didn’t have to go to work and could just spend the whole day in bed. But they had waited long enough. A few more days didn’t feel like an option. Besides they could still do all that this weekend anyway.
“Is your mom going to kill me now?” Caleb asked only half joking as he walked down the stairs and over to his kitchen area, pulling two bowls out of the cabinet.
“Cereal is good.” There was the option of course of waiting until the weekend, but between the Stark party and then Chanukah party the night after? Waiting was so not an option. Waiting had already happened, no need to prolong it. Slipping out of bed, Hanna slipped her underwear back on before pulling an oversized shirt on to follow after Caleb.
“Oh. Probably. But she’ll be nice about it.”
“Well as long as it’s a pleasant death,” he teased grabbing the milk out of the fridge and picking up the cereal from the counter. He poured himself a bowl before handing it over to Hanna to pour her own. “So tonight, you coming back over?”
“Exactly.” Smiling, Hanna took the cereal and milk to pour her own cereal. Being able to move around and get about all on her own was an amazing feeling. And cereal was just amazing. WIth it poured, she put the two things away before nodding. “Probably not. Finals.” Which sucked, but it was part of the whole school thing. It also meant that after the 10th, she was free until the beginning of January.
Caleb’s face fell at that, but he knew that Hanna did actually care about her grades. Even if she acted like she didn’t. He would never pressure her to spend time with him over studying, he was lucky he had gotten last night with her finals going on and everything. Soon enough she would have time off and he could spend as much time with her as he wanted. Well when he wasn’t working, and as long as she wanted it too.
“Right,” he said with a nod leaving his bowl of cereal on the counter before walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her. “I can’t wait for finals to be over,” he brushed her hair off her neck giving it a kiss. It was just like the waiting for the cast thing all over again. But at least this wasn’t as long of a wait.
She noticed the face falling bit but given she knew Caleb wouldn’t push her, she let it go. Besides, they would have three weeks of not having to worry so much about scheduling things around school and work. He could survive a few more nights without her.
Leaning back against him, the blonde nodded, “No kidding. So will I.” Or he could kiss her neck and she laughed before turning around to swat at his arm. “Okay, enough. I do actually need to get ready for school.” Which meant pulling away and finishing her cereal before going back up to the loft to change into her clothes. Then it would be starting the rest of her finals week. Oh well, three more days, she had this.
