It was strange. Despite all the things that happened in the area, people remained. It was a particular sort of pull if she were to describe it. While Svetlana had no desire to return to Moscow with the current political atmosphere, she couldn't actually see herself leaving the area. Oh, Orange County had a human trafficking problem... well, Los Angeles to be specific, three cities all in California on the FBI's top twenty list for that. But instead of moving to any of those other cities, she remained.

But she knew that he was resourceful and adaptable. He had to be with the work he did. Injuries could be set backs but it was how one handled it in the end. He'd be fine, of that she was certain.
