Nathan heard a familiar voice, and he smiled. If there was someone he could be sure wouldn't be horrified by his wound, he knew it would be Svetlana. She was a professional, and a compassionate one, if a little careless in his opinion.
Hence when he was waiting for his turn to talk to the man involved, he drifted closer to where she was talking, waiting for a break or ending in conversation before speaking in Russian with a Ukrainian accent. "Trouble, Svetlana? What's going on?" Of course it was trouble. No one came here without trouble. And he had worked with her once or twice before.
She might not have money, but her interests often coincided with those who did. And that made knowing her even more interesting. Besides, now and then just blowing up bad guys with a really big gun and saving some innocent people was fun, too.
