Having her friends model was the perfect solution to her latest round of assignments. She had to do a handful of figure paintings and she wanted to do something that wasn’t completely normal. She knew her friends on the network were a little more creative than just doing the same nude model as the other students. Seeing Laura volunteer had surprised her a little, but she was excited to see the girl get out of her shell a little more around her. The studio space had been reserved just in case they decided to do something indoors and she made her way to pick up Laura. Once parked she went to the front door and rang the bell as she waited for Laura to answer.
Laura left a note so that Furiosa knew where she was, then answered the door.. Since she didn’t know what Rapunzel expected her to wear, She was wearing a black sweatshirt, over a black skirt and black and white striped stockings. Opening the door, she smiled at her new friend, and tried very hard to not be stiff. “Hello.”
“Hey, you look cute. I like the stockings,” Rapunzel complimented with a smile once she caught sight of Laura in the doorway. She wasn’t even sure what they were going to do for poses just yet, but it was a simple outfit to do and she could even paint color onto it in the process, “Are you ready to go? Thank you again for agreeing to come help me. I hope you find it fun and not completely boring or anything.”
“I have a lot of patience,” Laura assured her. She closed the door behind her and nodded at the blonde. “You’re welcome. I look forward to helping.” And really, she did. Laura didn’t have too many friends, and while she was working on the whole talking stiffly thing, it was still a problem. Actually, she was working on talking in general, but she tended to not use too many words if she could help it.
And that was perfectly fine with Rapunzel because honestly, she talked too much. She was a very easy going person and she was more than willing to work with Laura to help her become more relaxed around other people. “I’m glad you do. Alright, let’s head over. I got some studio time, but we can also go outdoors if you wanted.” She walked towards her car and opened up the passenger side for Laura.
Laura could get the door herself, but Rapunzel was being polite and so she didn’t mind. She slipped in and buckled herself up and hoped the other woman was less wild of a driver than Furiosa was. “We could do both? I should not get nude outdoors, though.”
Rapunzel would most certainly be less of a crazy driver than Furiosa and if she ever rode with that woman she would probably see her life flash before her eyes. But she was quickly distracted when Laura brought up the nude modeling and she blushed a little. She was used to nudity, but it was different when it was someone who was your friend. It was a little more intimate, but she was trying to remain professional with her reaction. “Oh god, I would never make you get nude outdoors, that’s just weird. I don’t want to get in trouble with the cops. Nudity will remain strictly indoors.”
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” Laura said, glancing at Rapunzel and smirking at her. She may or may not have been messing with her. “But it would probably be for the best.”
Her eyebrows raised when Laura made that comment and she turned towards her with a confused expression, “Not the first time getting in trouble for being nude outdoors or just in trouble with the cops in general?” There was certainly a difference between the two and while Rapunzel might be pretty open with things she toed the line when it came to the law. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel while she waited for Laura to enlighten her.
"I was homeless for awhile. It is hard to not get in trouble with the law." It was worse in her dreams. Much worse, and that was not including the whole child assassin thing. Laura kneaded at her knuckles, working at the ache her claws often cause. It had nothing to do with nerves. Really.
"But I've been nude out doors. Just never caught."
“Ah, that’s right. I remember talking about that with you and makes sense. I’m sorry you had to go through that,” she wanted to reach over to take Laura’s hand because she was a weird touchy-feely type person, but she knew that Laura was still getting used to friendship in general. But she did have to laugh when Laura made her next comment, “Well, good job. That’s impressive.” Soon enough she was pulling into the parking lot of her apartment.
Rapunzel smelled a little nervous, and Laura had to bite her tongue to ask about that, as she didn't want to seem any weirder than she already did, and 'I have super senses and can smell your nervousness' was at the top of the weird-o-meter. Her scent was otherwise pleasing but that would also probably sound wrong. Laura was realizing she had a problem with wanting to overshare.
She glanced at her, then looked back down at her hands. "I was getting back to nature."
“That what a lot of the people I grew up with said when they would go on their nude nature walks,” Rapunzel explained with a soft laugh. Her nervousness was starting to dissipate a little bit. She parked her car and got out of it before going over to Laura’s side and waiting for her, “I’ve got all my stuff at the studio if we want to go there first. Is that okay with you?” She waited for a reply with a smile and reached up to brush some hair out of her eyes out of habit.
“At least I feel less strange.” Laura slipped out of the car and started to answer Rapunzel, “That would be… fine.” She stared for a moment, then darted her eyes to the side, as she suddenly realized Rapunzel was really pretty. Setting that aside to worry about later, she cleared her throat. “Your studio is fine.”
“Perfect. It isn’t too far of a walk,” Rapunzel gestured towards the path and walked along it since the studio was on campus and only a couple minutes away. Once they arrived at the doors she dug around in her purse for the keys and opened it up, “There’s a handful of studios in here, but I took one of the ones towards the back.” She glanced over to Laura to make sure she was following as they went down a hallway and she unlocked another door that opened into a fairly empty studio space. Her paints and canvases were set up off to the side and there were a couple pieces of furniture.
“I don’t mind walking,” Laura assured her, falling into step with Rapunzel and clasping her hands behind her back. It was a nice walk, and she found herself enjoying it.
Following Rapunzel through the building wasn’t difficult. Even if she didn’t have a good sense of direction, she thought that she could have followed easily enough. She took in the studio. It felt like a large space, and she walked over to inspect the canvases. “I don’t think I’ve ever painted. Not since I was little.”
“You used to paint when you were little though? It’s fairly easy to pick back up and honestly, you don’t have to have any skill to do it. You can do it just for yourself and how it makes you feel after. Sometimes I just grab anything and make a picture that looks like crap just because it helps me get my feelings out and relaxes me,” Rapunzel pointed out with a smile as she followed behind Laura towards the canvases. There was something incredibly soothing about the act of painting and drawing now in Rapunzel’s life that it had become her outlet for stress.
"It would probably be pretty bad. And dark." Laura pulled her sweater off, her white tank-top getting caught and exposing well defined abs. She tugged it back down and looked at Rapunzel. "It is like therapy?" That seemed to have caught her attention, and she rolled up the sweat shirt and tossed it onto a piece of furniture. "Maybe I will try..."
The action of her pulling her sweater off caught her attention and her green eyes flicked over to Laura and caught a flash of those abs. Her cheeks immediately flushed and she almost forgot how to speak as she tried to answer the question and she had to cough to cover it up, “Oh yes, it’s like a form of therapy. The nice thing about art is that you can keep it to yourself if you wish and no one can judge you on it. And I would say give it a try.”
Rapunzel was lucky that Laura hadn't worn a crop top instead of a tank top, but then she was willing to be painted nude to that might present a problem.
"I could be convinced." Laura started to put a hand on Rapunzel's arm, and then caught herself. "Trying art. I could... use something like that, my dreams tend to be very dark, and it would be a better outlet than... others I have tried." It was difficult to admit some of that, and she wasn't quite ready to say more to anyone. Her healing kept her skin from showing the marks after awhile. She eyed Rapunzel, as if sensing something was bothering her, but unsure what. She didn’t ask.
It was going to present a problem because Rapunzel was already flustered with just seeing Laura’s stomach. It was so different to paint a nude model that you didn’t know compared to painting someone you did know and apparently were attracted to.
The movement of her arm just slightly made Rapunzel take notice and she reached over to take the girl’s hand into her own. And she was glad that she did when Laura spilled that her dreams were dark. Art therapy would probably be a good outlet for her and she squeezed the girl’s hand lightly, “I’ll convince you. You shouldn’t have to deal with your dreams on your own, especially if they’re too much for you to handle. It would be safer than other outlets.” It was easy to guess what kind of other outlets she had used and Rapunzel felt her heart hurt for her friend.
Laura's finger twitched, and she absently flexed her hand. Separating herself from her dreamself was easier on some days, and harder on others, and there were times where she lost herself entirely. It was better with friends. Better when she forced herself to interact with people. It wasn't that she didn't want to but it was still difficult. She had a hard time even with touch, but she didn't seem to mind some people, Rapunzel included. So she smiled at Rapunzel, and didn't pull her hand away. "Thank you. But I'm here for you to paint. Should I remove my clothing?"
And if Rapunzel wasn't holding her hand she would have gotten started right then.
Laura’s hand felt nice in hers and she was enjoying the extra bit of warmth before Laura brought up the removal of clothing. Her hand tightened around hers once again as her cheeks blushed and she gave a shy smile to Laura, “Ah yes, might as well start with that. There’s some furniture in here to help you be a little more comfortable. I’ll move my stuff around while you undress.” She loosened her grip on Laura’s hand and moved to grab her items to bring them over towards the furniture. She needed something to do while Laura undressed because she would probably end up just staring, so in order to give her privacy she wanted to move things. It also didn’t help that she could feel the butterflies in her stomach now.
She gave Rapunzel a quizzical look, then stepped away to strip down. Quick, simple movements, and her top, skirt and stockings all came off. She removed her underwear last, and carefully folded everything and set them on a table. She looked at a couch and sniffed it very subtly, before sitting down and leaning back, resting her arm along the back. She wondered if the other girl was attracted to her, and that did not entirely compute. But her senses were rarely wrong. “Like this? Or would you like a different pose. Like in Titanic?”
Rapunzel tried to keep herself occupied by setting her station up while Laura got dressed. When Laura stepped forward to the couch she glanced up and it took her breath away just slightly. “You look beautiful,” she murmured loud enough for Laura to hear as she watched her sit down on the couch and thankfully the next comment made her laugh and she flashed a smile to Laura, “Oh Titanic. That is completely up to you. I want you to be completely comfortable, so just find a position you like and could hold for a while.” It was a good thing that Rapunzel didn’t know that Laura could smell her because her attraction in this moment would make things incredibly weird.
Laura clearly worked out, or had a naturally athletic body, even if her breasts seemed to defy physics. She found her body reddening in response to Rapunzel's compliment and actually stammered for a moment before replying. "..thank you. You are too."
She wet her lips as she considered the rest of what Rapunzel had said. "Comfortable? I don't know if I want to be comfortable. That might be... aggressive."
Laura got to her feet and fell into a classic feral-looking fight stance. The only thing missing would be some kind of claws or weapon and she didn't want to freak Rapunzel out by popping hers. She straightened, and looked suddenly vulnerable. "I want... to do something that I was not programmed for...that is not instinct."
She didn't know what that was, and Rapunzel's attraction was mildly distracting. She didn't mind - it was a natural response, if an interesting and unexpected one. But she didn't want to do the thing that might be expected of her. Killer, animal. "So that something might not be comfortable because I am not used to it."
The fact that Laura responded to the compliment like that made her blush deep even further. “Thank you…” Oh god, she was so incredibly awful at this kind of thing. It didn’t help that Laura was distractingly attractive and her eyes stayed on Laura’s lips as she watched her tongue wet them.
Thankfully Laura’s words were able to distract her and she studied the girl as she did an aggressive stance that she hadn’t been expecting. It was so strange to her that Laura wasn’t used to being comfortable or in her words, programmed for, but she felt an urge to take care of her immediately. No one should have to go through whatever Laura had gone through.
“Okay, so you want to try something different? I mean if you’re not used to being a normal girl just lounging on a couch then we can try that. But if you feel comfortable looking like a badass we can do that as well. Do you want me to help direct you into something so we can find something that works for both of us?”
What Would Logan Do? Laura got a sudden vivid image and cleared her throat. "What would you want to do to me?"
And that effectively killed Rapunzel’s brain for a moment. A quick scenario of things ran through her mind and one of them were fit to say aloud. She sputtered and coughed as her cheeks burned bright and she decided to get up and wander over to her. “Um, did you mean to say that how you said that?” She wasn’t quite sure what else to say because maybe Laura just meant help put her in a pose and certainly didn’t mean anything else. Her cheeks were a deep red as she stood in front of her naked friend and wasn’t quite sure what to do in that moment.
"How did I say it?" It hadn't been intentional, but now that she was thinking about it, it sounded like she was flirting. She'd watched her father flirt, so she really should have had a better handle on what she was doing. "Oh." She reflexively folded her arms over her chest as Rapunzel got closer. "I.. don't know."
But she wasn't backing away. She sighed. "I think that came out wrong. I don't usually react to people. Like this."
“It just...It’s fine, promise. My mind went right into the gutter,” she admitted before reaching up to place her hands gently on Laura’s arms. She kept her eyes on Laura’s to keep an eye on any emotions that may show on her face that she was making her uncomfortable, “I -- can I move you into a possible pose?” She wanted to make sure that she got Laura’s permission to touch her, but she had something in mind because she adored how vulnerable she could look and it would speak volumes in a painting.
Laura looked up, searching Rapunzel's eyes. She didn't see any deceit there. There was none in her scent, or her posture, just kindness and gentleness and some other things that Laura could guess at. She liked this, and Rapunzel made her feel human. She wasn't unfamiliar with attraction - in her dreams there had been several people she'd felt things for, but had never been in a place to really act on it. Right now, though, she didn't know what to do about that, so she dropped her hands to her sides and nodded her head. "You can move me."
A beat. "Your hands feel nice."
Rapunzel was going to turn into a tomato or something with all the blushing she was doing today. It wasn’t often that someone managed to do this to her, but Laura had this way of making her feel something new. There was an ache inside of her that wanted to act on this attraction, but she tried to push it down - this was not the time for something like that. A smile blossomed on her face when Laura relaxed around her and gave her permission to be moved.
“Your skin feels nice,” Rapunzel admitted to the girl as her hands touched her gently and brought her over to the couch. She had Laura’s back facing where she would be painting and she couldn’t help but enjoy how soft Laura’s skin truly was. When she got her posed she moved around the couch and placed her hand on Laura’s cheek to move her head in the right direction. Her thumb accidentally brushed over her lips and Rapunzel bit her own gently when she felt it. “You are seriously beautiful right now. Thank you for doing this.”
A red tinge started to creep down Laura's neck as Rapunzel guided her to the couch. She closed her eyes as the artist positioned her, feeling a little thrill and enjoyment from Rapunzel's touches. It almost felt as though she were caressing her back in places and Laura found herself craving more. No one had ever touched her so gently.
Her mouth opened slightly at the feel of Rapunzel's thumb. She nodded, then realized that messed up Rapunzel's positioning. "I'm ... glad to do this. You really think I'm beautiful?"
There was a damned big difference between the way Rapunzel said it and the way the last guy who'd catcalled her on the street had.
It didn’t even matter that she messed up the position at the moment. She would be more than willing to fix it, but it meant everything to have Laura looking at her like that and ask that question. Her stomach tightened and she couldn’t speak, so all she could do was nod at the moment. There was a beat before she finally found her voice, “I do, truly.” Her voice was gentle and warm as she spoke and she honestly meant it.
Her eyes studied Laura’s face and she kept her hand on the the girl’s cheek, gently rubbing her thumb absentmindedly on her cheek, and the urge to kiss her was incredibly strong. But she knew that Laura was almost like a fawn - beautiful yet timid - so she didn’t want to startle her and would allow Laura to make the first moves.
The irony was that getting shot at would be less nerve-wracking than this was. Laura didn't want to move, as much as Rapunzel felt she might startle, she feared more that she'd make her not like her. "I'm not beautiful, inside. Or, I wasn't. I'm still learning how to be. In my dreams I do terrible things. Created to kill, to hurt people. Aggressive. Not beautiful."
“Those dreams don't define you, Laura. You are beautiful inside because you realize that you can be different than you are in the dreams. Even deadliness can be beautiful sometimes. It may take you a while to figure yourself out, but you are beautiful no matter what, and I will be here to help you on your journey if you need me,” even if nothing happened between the two of them Rapunzel still wanted Laura to know they were friends and she would help her at any moment. She took her free hand and placed it just above Laura’s breast where her heart would be, “This is what matters.”
"You are a very kind person, Rapunzel. And I can tell that you are interested in me." Laura moved only enough to hold her hand over Rapunzel's. "I hope I don't hurt you, some day. But you should know something about me."
With her hand secure and arm out of the way, Laura formed a fist around Rapunzel's hands, and then two claws slid out from between her knuckles.
Rapunzel watched with a confused expression as Laura took her hands and then suddenly the claws came out. She let out a gasp and took a step back out of surprise. Bright green eyes flicked down to Laura’s face, “What in the--?” She wasn’t scared of her, but more surprised and confused. How in the world was this possible?
"I dream I'm a mutant," Laura explained. She sheathed her claws, and took Rapunzel's hand again. "A genetic mutation that gifted me with accelerated healing, senses, and these claws. But I also dreamed that scientists created me in a lab. They laced my claws with that metal. They brainwashed me into a killer, until my father, my genetic template, found me."
Laura let go of Rapunzel's hand. "Sometimes dreams come true, whether or not you want them to."
That certainly wasn't what she was expecting Laura to tell her. These dreams were seriously messed up because she could see they were affecting Laura so completely. She frowned a little and it only deepened when Laura let go of her hands. “I am so sorry those are your dreams. You’re still beautiful to me.”
"You keep complimenting me." It almost sounded like a complaint, but it wasn't, not exactly. She just didn't know how to deal with it. "And I can tell you are telling the truth, which makes you different from others who just wanted to use me or get on my good side."
She exhaled slowly. "It's confusing."
“I do it because you don’t believe it and you should. I don’t want to be confusing nor do I want to use you. You’re my friend, Laura,” Rapunzel explained to her with a small smile, “I am here to help you believe in yourself and be happy. If you’re sick of me complimenting you then you can just let me know.” Her voice was light and teasing when she said it and she hoped that Laura picked up on that.
Laura bit her lip. "You do not have to stop. I don't always... like people touching me, or doing these things. But I trust you. Your hands feel nice." She suddenly didn't want to sit still, suddenly understanding what butterflies in one's stomach actually felt like. She didn't do hugs. At least she didn't for a long time, but she'd started opening up to the idea in the dreams and so that was influencing her here.
“I am grateful that you trust me and like my hands. Because I really like touching you; your skin is incredibly soft,” she admitted with a blush and reached out to brush Laura’s hair off her shoulder and then caressed the skin there, “I am trying so hard not to scare you right now because all I want to do is kiss you.” The words weren’t meant to be uttered aloud, but Laura was being honest with her so Rapunzel thought to pay her back in kind. Laura was a delicate thing and she wanted to make sure she took things at her pace and Rapunzel wasn’t the most experienced in this area.
"You are not going to get any painting done," Laura pointed out. But she could count the number of times she'd kissed someone on one hand. Time-displaced Scott and Warren. Julian. Jubilee. She only regretted two of those. A smile found it's way to her lips and she teased Rapunzel back for earlier. "If I didn't know any better, I would think this was your plan all along."
That comment earned a laugh and she shook her head playfully, “I wish I was that crafty. But since you are worried about my painting then let’s focus on that. I can put you back into the pose if you want. Once I get a rough outline I can let you know when to relax.” Simple enough and it would help distract her from what was going on. She did want to paint Laura because she was a great subject and it would turn out fantastic.
Laura didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved, and the conflict passed over her face. "Okay. That would be best right now." She was eager to see what it looked like, and there was something about posing for Rapunzel that was almost exciting. She felt...bashful. It was strange.
The conflict was apparent and Rapunzel felt bad for a moment. She leaned forward and kissed Laura’s cheek before pulling away with a smile, “If we get this out of the way we can do whatever we want for the rest of the day.” It was a simple solution and hopefully Laura would agree to it. After speaking she helped Laura get into the pose she wanted.
"Whatever we want," Laura repeated. She closed her eyes as Rapunzel posed her again. She decided she could prove she could sit deathly still - a skill trained for other reasons, but actually quite useful for this purpose.
The pose was set and Rapunzel made her way to the canvas. It was easy to lose herself in painting especially since the subject was so easy to work with. It was going to be an amazing painting. Soon enough she had a good enough rough sketch, “You can relax now. If you want to come see what I am doing you can. Or just hang out on the couch.”
Laura unfolded her legs, standing unsteadily, then bending over to rub some life back into them. It didn’t take much, not with her healing factor. Then she straightened, and padded on silent, bare feet over to Rapunzel. “I would like to see.”
“Grab that stool over by the end of the couch and you can sit on it,” she certainly wasn’t going to make Laura stand. She glanced around the canvas and shot the girl a smile as she continued to paint. It was going to come out quite nicely and at the moment she had Laura almost completely finished, but needed to go into fine detail with lights and shadows. She was leaving background blank for now and there was a rough paint of the couch.
Grabbing the stool, Laura brought it over and sat next to Rapunzel. She studied the painting with curious eyes, leaning in but careful not to disturb Rapunzel’s arm. She wouldn’t want to smudge or damage the work, but she did lightly rest a hand on the girl’s back.
Rapunzel let Laura sit in silence for a little while, leaning into her touch just slightly, and then turned to look at her, “What do you think? I hope you like it so far. I am a bit boring to watch paint.” She didn’t know how long the girl wanted to watch, but she would probably finish things up in a couple hours at the most.
“I have watched less entertaining things for longer.” She didn’t particularly want to move. Rapunzel’s presence was calming, and Laura had problems when it came to hyperfocusing on someone. She didn’t think it would result in stalking - that aspect of her dreamself was a little frightening, even if it had been mostly harmless.
It was probably a good thing that Rapunzel was fairly hard to pin down because she was constantly busy if Laura may delve into stalker tendencies. She probably wouldn’t notice and may not even mind to an extent. “Well, at least you didn’t outright tell me I was the most boring, but you didn’t tell me what you think about it.” She wanted that answer before she suggested getting her laptop or something.
Laura would probably rip apart anyone who tried to hurt Rapunzel, at least. “I don’t know what to think. You have a good handle of anatomy. I like how...I look. Like you are seeing inside of me.” She didn’t know if that made sense.
The comment made her chuckle happily and she turned to face Laura with a smile. “I think that means you like it. I need to help you with the compliments though. But I liked the ones you gave me. I think that art makes it easier to see inside of someone.” She was teasing the with compliment stuff, but she did find the seeing inside comment as very eloquent.
“What are you going to do with the lighting?” That sounded like a question someone would ask about art, and right now it was mostly flat. She was curious, about the process and the thoughts behind everything.
“I am hoping to do some shadows on your back and a bit on your face. I want there to be a balance of light and dark on your body. May pull you more into focus and darken the background,” Rapunzel explained with a smile. The question was a great one and she was quite impressed with it.
“Balance is… good.” There was too much darkness in her soul, so much that she’d questioned if she’d had one or not. But balance was better than being too much one or the other. Laura understood that Rapunzel meant literally, but her mind still went to the metaphorical. An unusual occurrence for her.
Her hand slid a little lower on Rapunzel’s back. “No background, just pattern?”
“Mmm…” she murmured softly as she felt the hand slid down. She closed her eyes just briefly to enjoy the sensation before opening her eyes again to study the painting. She pursed her lips for a moment before turning back to Laura, “Do you have a preference for a background? A place you would like to be?”
“Trees,” Laura answered, without hesitation. “Trees. Maybe some water. I like being with nature.”
“I can certainly do that,” Rapunzel commented with a happy tone on her voice. That was easy enough and it seemed to suit Laura well. She focused on her work and the couch became dirt on the ground and she began to bring forth trees and a night sky with the moon being the source of light. Hopefully Laura didn’t mind when she got quiet and worked hard.
She didn’t mind. She focused on the movement of the brush and the way Rapunzel brought life to a static painting. She also found her attention drifting to Rapunzel’s hands, and to her face as she concentrated. Laura spent a lot of time watching Rapunzel’s face.
When she painted landscapes she always felt a bit like Bob Ross and that she should be explaining what she’s doing in a soothing voice and referencing happy trees. Her concentration was solely focused on the painting, so she didn’t notice Laura looking at her while she worked to finish the painting. It was useful that Laura was more than happy to sit and watch because that gave her time to get into the fine details and wrap up her painting. She scooted her chair back just slightly and looked at the finished painting, “Well, that turned out pretty awesome!”
“That’s me,” Laura said, staring at it as though she hadn’t just watched it form. Though to tell the truth, half the time she’d been focused on something else. “It looks…” She searched for the word, and was unable to find it. Her insides her, in her chest area, in a feeling not unlike a sucking chest wound. In a good way.
None of that made any sense so she kept it to herself. If she was the kind of person to cry when not alone, she would have, but her eyes did water just a bit.
Rapunzel watched Laura closely as she studied the painting and she couldn’t help but smile. Leaving someone speechless wasn’t something that happened very often, but it was a lot of fun when it happened. It made her feel accomplished with this painting because it obviously was striking a chord with Laura. So, Rapunzel leaned forward and placed a kiss on the corner of Laura’s mouth with a chuckle, “I’m hoping that means you like it.”
Laura didn’t know how to process that kiss. It wasn’t a ‘full’ kiss but it had still been intimate and if Logan had been present he would have told her (to her embarrassment) she was lighting up like a Christmas tree. In a distracted tone, she replied. “I … yes. I love it.”
There was still that urge to kiss Laura completely, but she was going to let Laura make the moves. Scaring her off wasn’t something she wanted to do, but she did stay close to her with a smile at her reaction. “It’ll be yours after my professor grades it, promise. What else do you want to do today?” Rapunzel couldn’t help but reach up and brush Laura’s hair behind her ear.
Laura found herself leaning against Rapunzel as her fingers brushed at the tip of her ear. It sent a shiver rippling through her. She lifted her hand and carefully played with Rapunzel’s golden hair, then she closed the distance between their faces and kissed Rapunzel. Laura didn't entirely know what she was doing but she did know she wanted to do this.
Any time someone wanted to play with her hair then Rapunzel would turn into goo at their fingertips. That was what was happening just as Laura leaned in to kiss her. There was a bit of surprise at Laura making the move, but she just reacted by kissing her back. A arm moved to wrap around Laura’s bare waist and pull her closer as the hand in Laura’s hair reached down to cup her cheek.
A soft rumble, not quite a growl, came from Laura’s throat. She kept playing with Rapunzel’s hair, hoping her kissing wasn’t that terrible. She shifted, part-way into Rapunzel’s lap, finally breaking the kiss with a gasping sound that she didn’t know she could make. Was this a normal thing, Laura wondered.
The arm that was around Laura held her close when she shifted and she couldn’t help but smile a little into the kiss. When the kiss was broken she couldn’t help but pant just a little to try and catch her breath. “Please don’t stop,” she murmured softly as she regarded Laura with hooded eyes.
And Laura discovered she liked the sound of Rapunzel begging (and her panting and the look in her eyes). She kissed her again, her nails massaging at the blonde's scalp. She felt like she had some measure of control over the situation and that more than anything relaxed her. Rapunzel was good and gentle and kind, and Laura found herself craving the affection she'd never had. The dreams were far away and her attraction didn't scare her.
The nails massaging her scalp made her moan slightly into the kiss. It was a little odd to be making out while Laura was naked and she was fully clothed, but it seemed to work. Her thumb lightly stroked Laura’s cheek as she deepened the kiss. The hand on Laura’s back lightly scratched the bare skin there and she couldn’t help but draw her in closer on her lap.
One hand moved to Rapunzel's shoulder, then the side of her neck as she followed her lead with the kissing. This was nice. Better than nice, and less awkward than some of her dream kisses. That was all she really had to compare to and sorry Julian but Rapunzel was way better at this.
The hand on her back felt like little electric sparks, which would be more concerning if it didn't feel so good. She shifted until she was straddling Rapunzel, and she was trembling slightly, though if that was from nervousness or desire she didn't know. It felt like the same thing.
This was certainly not how she expected the day to go, but Laura had opened herself up to her and she had seen a beautiful person and soul with her. She had only kissed a handful of girls, but Laura was her favorite so far. The feel of Laura’s hand on her neck sent a shiver down her spine, which only made her put more desire into her kiss and her fingers dug into Laura’s skin just slightly.
Laura hadn't planned to do this. She hadn't planned on doing anything more than pose for Rapunzel, to maybe see herself as human again. Her dreams had come so hard and so fast that she was still reeling from Stryker and the Arena and so much more, and hadn't entirely felt the relief that had come from realizing she had a soul, and the growth and recovery she'd undergone after all of that.
She'd been uncomfortable after dreaming about sleeping with Warren, but not because it was bad, just that she felt she hadn't mentally reached the place where she was ready for that kind of intimacy. And she wasn't sure she was with Rapunzel but she didn't actually want to stop yet.
It felt so good and Rapunzel was so soft and Laura was as afraid of hurting her as she was of being hurt herself. Laura came with claws, and according to Logan that might actually be literal.
She shifted against Rapunzel as her nails bit her skin, and groaned into the kiss.
It was always interesting how something like this could seemingly come out of nowhere. Rapunzel had grown up being told to just take the moments as they come and not overthink things, so that’s what she was doing with Laura. She had a naked girl on her lap and she couldn’t get enough of her taste. The idea of moving to the next step of intimacy scared her a little bit, so she was happy to keep this up.
Especially when Laura let out a groan like that. Rapunzel lightly nipped at Laura’s lips before pulling away just slightly. She took a deep breath and moved her lips to Laura’s neck.
And then Laura discovered she really liked that. She tilted her head back - a sign of trust, especially for a mutant that was typically of a feral nature. She felt like her skin was buzzing wherever Rapunzel kissed it. Her hand tangled in Rapunzel's hair even more than before.
Laura rubbed her thumb along Rapunzel's throat, her breath shallow and quick.
That was all the encouragement she needed and she lightly nibbled at the skin. She wouldn’t be mean and create a hickey on her neck, but she couldn’t help but run her tongue along Laura’s skin. She tasted fantastic and Rapunzel made a happy murmur against the girl’s skin. This was incredibly arousing and she moved her hand from Laura’s hand and brought it about to her stomach, along with the hand that had been cupping Laura’s cheek, and let her fingers feel that skin and drift just slightly north.
Laura's abs flexed under Rapunzel's fingers, the combined sensation of the blonde's fingers and her lips and tongue making her head spin. She pushed Rapunzel's head against her neck, torn between telling her harder and making them stop. Or at least pausing to text Logan or a friend for advice. But if they stopped, what if she missed her chance to experience this?
Her senses were nearly overwhelmed. The touches on her skin were extra sensitive. Rapunzel's scent and arousal like a kind of drug, and the beating of the girl's heart was as loud in Laura's ears as her own pulse. Her body was responding in kind and the lack of control of her own body's reaction was a little terrifying.
Rapunzel was basically flying by the seat of her pants when it came to this. It all came down to just doing what felt good and what wouldn’t scare Laura off and apparently she was doing something right. When Laura pushed her head she made a small noise of approval and continued to explore the girl’s skin as her thumbs brushed the skin just underneath her breasts.
Laura’s skin was probably the softest she had ever felt and she would probably touch her forever if she got the chance. However, she did need to ask something important before she got too caught up. She pulled her head away to look at Laura’s face with a small smile. “You doing okay? Do you want to keep going? If so, may I touch you?”
Eyes at half mast and mouth hanging open a little, it took a moment for Laura to realize Rapunzel was speaking. She even made a confused questioning sound as if asking why she'd stopped. Everywhere Rapunzel was touching her felt like points of intense heat.
Her body still craved the touch but she didn't know how to deal with the sudden overwhelming sensation and feelings. She was conflicted, but her head started to clear a little.
"I've never done this before." In this life anyway, and she didn't really count most of the other life (and thinking about that would be a mood killer so she squashed that thought)
And she should have thought this could happen but she'd just wanted to pose and be human and beautiful, until Rapunzel's gentle touches had fired up something inside of her that she'd thought was dead. Was this normal?
The look on Laura’s face was incredibly endearing and Rapunzel couldn’t help but chuckle a little. She nodded at the girl’s comment and leaned forward to kiss her cheek, “Neither have I. We should probably slow down then. Maybe put some clothes on and cuddle or something?”
The last thing she wanted to do was make Laura do something she might regret. She would respect her completely and she slowly moved her hands away from her. “You are incredibly addicting. Sorry about that.”
Laura caught Rapunzel's wrists, not entirely ready to let her escape. But she nodded, closing her eyes and trying to not imagine what Rapunzel would look like naked because that was not helping.
"You smell like heaven," she blurted. That wasn't all what she'd meant to say, so she ducked her head and nuzzled it against Rapunzel's throat. She suddenly wanted to bite and nip and lick and she was going to not do those things because she could control herself and she realized she wasn't ready for that yet.
So she wrapped her arms around Rapunzel's waist and snuggled in. "I'm sorry."
Rapunzel readily allowed her to hold her wrists in place because she didn’t want to let her go either. She giggled at the comment and let out a moan when Laura nuzzled against her neck, “Mmm, I like your compliments. I have to find more words to say how beautiful you are.”
Her hands gently stroked Laura’s skin gently before moving up to her hair when she snuggled in, “hey. Hey.nothing to be sorry about. You are my favorite kisser so far. I am so happy right now.”
"Kissing is really good." Laura smiled against Rapunzel's neck, then kissed the skin there lightly. She suddenly felt as though a weight had lifted off of her chest. Not that she hadn't been into it, but the feeling of losing control was distressing. She wanted more control over it next time - or to be in a place where she could relinquish control and be ready for it. It had all happened so quickly that she'd been thrown for a loop.
"I... wouldn't mind doing it again." And again, and again...
“I would be more than happy to do it again with you. Do you want to go back to my room? We can cuddle and paint? I can sketch you and help you paint if you wanted,” Rapunzel offered with a happy lilt to her voice. This had been a pleasant turn of events and she hadn’t scared Laura off. She was really enjoying this moment with her and would be a little disappointed when Laura put her clothes back on.
Laura nodded, forcing herself to slip off of Rapunzel’s lap. Her legs felt a little wobbly as she walked over to her discarded clothing, and she glanced over her shoulder in a way that she knew was coy. “I’d like that. But a cold shower might also be welcome.”
The coy look made her giggle and she started to pack up things, “That can certainly happen. Let’s get out of this place then.” Rapunzel finished gathering things and watching Laura dress before crossing over to her and holding out her hand with a smile.
She took Rapunzel’s hand, finding herself grinning. It was the painful kind of grinning, and she liked how it felt.
