“Elsa?” Anna came in through the front door of her old house and glanced around for her sister. So many things had happened, so much had changed. She’d moved into a new house, been bitten by a vampire, kissed her English Professor then forgotten about it, remembered again, and kissed him again after he woke with a gunshot and was healed by vampire blood. Oh, and midterms were coming.
Anna set her keys down on the table by the door and headed for the kitchen. “Where you at?” She teased, finding her way to the fridge.
Elsa heard her sister from where she was putting things away in her bedroom so headed straight for the kitchen when she came down. She knew that's where Anna would be.
"I'm here. Waiting for you to raid the fridge" she grinned, "How are you?"
Anna was always in the kitchen. She was pretty much perpetually hungry. It took a lot of calories to maintain her high energy. (Even though the energy drinks helped with that… during Finals.)
“Hey!” Anna was pulling an apple from the fridge when Elsa came in. She closed the door and stepped forward to hug her sister in greeting. “Good! How are you?” The wound on her neck was almost completely gone. The bandage was unnecessary as it’d scabbed over. But she was hiding the scab with a scarf.
Elsa shrugged after hugging her sister tightly, “I’m okay” she said, dealing with Gale’s sudden death was hard but she was slowly distracting herself with things like work and family. And Anna was definitely helping with that, her sister was such a bright light. “All settled in now?” she asked.
“For the most part.” It’d been almost two weeks now since Anna, Caroline, Lexi and Stefan had moved into the new house, and things were going fairly well. Anna had moved back in now that Stefan had more control of his… bloodlust. Gross. And now things were escalating with Ezra. That thought made her flush.
“You still have to come by for a Barbeque. Stefan’s a great cook.” Anna grinned brightly.
It had been nice to have Anna around when she’d stayed for a few days, but things were settling into a routine again now. Elsa knew a lot more had been happening with her sister and wanted to know all of it.
“Hmm maybe I will” she said, still not overly keen on the person who had bitten her sister. That had caused a little swirl of bad weather when she’d discovered what had happened.
Anna had tried to explain that Stefan wasn’t himself, that he’d lost control, and that she knew he would never really hurt her, but she wasn’t entirely sure of all of those things herself. It was hard to convince her sister when she was the one who really needed convincing.
But that was a while ago, and Anna was moving on to bigger and better things. “Either way, I wanted to talk to you about my Birthday this year.” She brightened. “What do you think about a Disneyland trip?”
Elsa tried to be understanding but the idea of her sister in danger wasn’t something that would ever sit well with her, that this person had hurt her meant Elsa would never truly trust them.
“Disneyland is a lovely idea Anna, and very fitting too” Her sister was just as adorable as any disney movie.
Completely understandable. Elsa was being a good big sister, and Anna couldn’t fault her for it. Anna felt honored and humbled that her sister loved her so much and was so protective of her.
She brightened. “Then that’s the plan! I’ll make reservations for you and me and Kate at the Grand Californian for the long weekend, and I’ll invite all my friends out for the day. We’ll have lunch at Ariel’s Grotto, and then go to World of Color that night. Sounds good?”
“That sounds perfect” Elsa said, she’d always had a soft spot for The Little Mermaid and the Disneyland shows were always worth a watch. “It will be a wonderful weekend”
“I’ll start making plans! I’m gonna post about it on Valarnet, and try to catch everyone there… rather than having to send out tons of emails or texts or whatever. Ooh, or I could make paper invitations? No, too much work. I’ve got studying to do.” Anna was starting to babble. “I’m really excited about it! It’s right toward Thanksgiving. People will still come, right?”
Elsa laughed at the babbling, “I think Valarnet is a good idea that way your friends will know but you can focus your energy on studying” she advised, “People will definitely still come, your friends adore you Anna and it’s Disneyland” Who said no to Disneyland.
“You’re right!” Anna nearly squealed with delight. “All right, let’s go look at those boxes in the garage. I think I’ve got some old toys or something out there, and I can bring them to my house to store them now.”
“Alright, let’s grab a couple of drinks to take with us. It’s pretty dusty in some of those boxes” Elsa said, ruffling her sister’s hair, “And anything you don’t have room for is fine to stay here” It was kind of like her sister was still partially there when her stuff was. Her room was still the same.
“Okay.” Anna grinned, lifting a hand to brush her hair out of her face. Then she followed Elsa into the kitchen for drinks. “I just want to make sure that you’re not drowning in old stuff.”
“It’s perfectly fine, it’s never been an issue we don’t need the space for anything” Elsa assured her sister, “So just take what you can actually fit at your place”
“Okay.” Anna followed her sister into her bedroom and glanced around. She’d taken a lot of the essentials earlier, but then living in a one bedroom apartment didn’t leave much room for anything else. She could take more furniture now, and the rest of her childhood books and the like. “We should get cracking.” She said, and gave Elsa a smile.
