Who: Myrcella and Jeremy What: Jeremy’s birthday Where: Their home When: 13th October Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete
Myrcella hadn’t wanted to entirely dominate Jeremy’s birthday so she’d made him breakfast but then they had gone about their days as usual. They both had classes and she knew he’d want to visit his sister too. But that evening he was all hers. Irisa was staying at a friends for the night so they had the place to themselves. Myrcella had come home in time to cook a lovely meal and make him a cake complete with a little Jeremy on top.
Now she was just waiting for him to get home.
It was still weird, celebrating his birthday or any other holidays without his parents physically being there and he hadn’t actually seen their ghosts in a while, but he was slowly getting used to them not being around and it was all because of his sisters and friends. And of course Myrcella. No matter what was going on, Myrcella was the one person he could talk to about anything and he was looking forward to whatever she had planned for his birthday.
He’d gone out with Elena and Katherine earlier and was now just getting home. Walking in the door, their dog ran to him, demanding some attention. After giving him the proper amount of attention, Jeremy headed into the living room, “Myrcella? I’m home.”
Myrcella left the kitchen to come greet him in the living room. She was wearing a new dress he hadn't seen before, slightly sexier than her usual kind, and she'd set out candles in the dining room to go with their dinner.
“Happy Birthday” she greeted him with a smile and moved closer to give him a kiss.
Jeremy grinned as he kissed Myrcella back, “Thanks.” He took hold of both of her hands and stepped back a bit to get a look at her dress, “Wow. That’s….that’s really nice.” Myrcella didn’t dress up sexy often, not that Jeremy thought she had to cause as far as he was concerned, she was already sexy enough, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t like the dress and the way it looked on his girlfriend.
“I hoped you'd like it” and she had new things underneath which he'd get to see later. She wasn't the sort of girl to dress up sexy everyday, but on special occasions it was nice. Jeremy was the only person to dress up for and she liked doing that for him. “I made dinner. Your favourite” she told him stepping back to lead him through.
“Awww, you’re the best.” Honestly there was no better way for his birthday to come to a close than with his favorite meal, “How did I get so lucky?” Still grinning he kept a hold of one of her hands as he headed into the dining room where she had set up dinner, which smelled great.
Myrcella smiled, she knew he’d appreciate it and then afterwards they could snuggle together with dessert on the sofa before she gave him his presents. Hopefully the perfect evening. “Same way I did, pure luck” she teased, kissing him before sitting him down so she could serve him dinner.
Jeremy smiled back at her and took a seat at the table, “Ya know, if you keep this up, I might get used to it and expect dinner waiting for me every night.” While it wouldn’t a terrible thing to come home to, Jeremy enjoyed ordering out or making dinner with Myrcella at night, so having dinner waiting for him wasn’t something that he expected or thought that he deserved.
Myrcella laughed, “I’ll be sure to burn it once or twice then just so that doesn’t happen” she grinned at him knowing full well that they both enjoyed making something together or being lazy and ordering take out. But for special occasions she rather liked cooking for him. It made it special because it didn’t happen every week.
Jeremy laughed as he ate, “So then I’ll have to order a pizza?” It was times like these that Jeremy was able to forget the fact that in his dreams all of his girlfriends had died. Vicki had been turned into a vampire then staked, Anna had been a vampire then staked and then Bonnie had died bringing him back to life. Sure, he could still see Bonnie, in the dreams cause he was a Medium, but she was still dead and he couldn’t touch her. So, these times with Myrcella helped to make him forget these things and live in the present and not the dreams like he still had a tendency to do at times. It wasn’t nearly as bad as before he’d been “shot” and woken up a Medium in real life and had started working through his grief over his parents and everything else that was going on, but there were times when he dwelt a little too much on the dreams; especially when Damon started causing problems in real life like right now.
“Yep you’d have to” Myrcella told him with a grin. She knew Jeremy’s dream history with girls wasn’t the best but she was determined to be different than them. She loved him a lot and wasn’t going anywhere. She saw her future with him and he was her real life prince who far outreached the prince in her dreams.
“I kinda want to try and make pizza. I mean, it can’t be that hard, right?” Jeremy used to watch his father cook when he was younger, but never had the interest to help or learn and now he wished that he had, “Maybe have Elena and Katherine over.” Things were a little awkward between his sisters what with Katherine now dating Damon and having just turned into a vampire, but he wanted to make sure that his family stayed together.
“It’s not that hard. I’ve made pizza before” Myrcella assured him, she’d learnt from the staff they’d had at home since neither of her parents had been cooking people. Her mum had sometimes made cakes with her but that hadn’t happened in a long time. She was definitely going to teach her own kids when the time came. “I think that would be lovely, maybe we could have them over sometime before Thanksgiving?” Myrcella knew what Jeremy had told her but hadn’t spoken to either of the girls for a while now.
“Well then you can teach me,” Jeremy smiled as he continued eating dinner, “And speaking of Thanksgiving, if Katherine is gonna be there we’ll probably have to have it at the house cause of Damon cause I’m not inviting him in here and Katherine probably won’t come if he’s not invited.” He honestly didn’t understand what either of his sisters ever saw in Damon.
“I’d love to” Myrcella said, she enjoyed cooking with Jeremy it was fun and sweet and she felt it made them closer too. “Of course” she nodded, she was glad that Jeremy didn’t plan on inviting Damon in. He’d hurt her boyfriend too much for her to forgive him, she was civil for his sisters’ sake but that was all.
“When did everything get so complicated?” Jeremy sighed and set his utensils down on his plate, “At least there’s one uncomplicated thing in my life.” He smiled across the table at Myrcella; he’d gotten extremely lucky with Myrcella and regardless of his dreams, they wouldn’t do anything to ruin what they had.
“Always” Myrcella said reaching over to take his hand, “And at least we aren’t alone in facing those complicated things. We have each other” Which meant they were already ahead in Myrcella’s eyes.
