Merlin didn’t frequent the magic guild very often, his help was available should it be needed but he was more concerned with his actual life than getting too deeply involved in the magical community. However since he and Audrey were going to be trying for another baby he felt he should try every avenue to see if their children would inherit any of their parents gifts. After all with Audrey being a witch in her dreams and those powers leaking over as his own had the likelihood was something would happen.
Merlin wanted to be prepared which was why he was currently browsing through the texts the guild held.
Elaine came in after avoiding the place for a few days. She really loved the Guild and all its usefulness but she was too uncomfortable around most people to make the best of it. But she had some potions to stock the cupboards with and had some charms to drop off for people who wanted them.
She smiled seeing Merlin, another face that was rare in here. “I hope I’m not disturbing you.” she said as she moved to set something down on a table.
“It’s nice to see you Elaine” he said with a smile, greeting the other woman. It was rare to see her here too but always nice. He liked the woman’s quiet calmness. “You aren’t disturbing me at all. How have you been?”
Elaine dipped her head as she smiled. “Things are going okay, I’ve found it nice to be out away from everyone but I do miss some social interactions too.” she laughed softly. “How have you been, Merlin? It’s been awhile since i’ve run into you.” She had worked through a lot of her issues and calm came almost naturally now. It was rather nice.
“I know what you mean” Merlin nodded, “I sometimes crave other adult company after baby talk all day” he grinned. He loved being a dad and it was obvious but it was also true that parents could go stir crazy without other people to talk to. “I’ve been well thank you. Busy with work and Ben and just general life I suppose”
Elaine nodded. “I can imagine it gets a little crazy sometimes. But I’ve heard it’s worth it.” she smiled softly. “Busy isn’t really a bad thing, it just is a thing. Although you need to make time for yourself too, as hard as it can be.” a slight shrug of a shoulder.
“It is most definitely worth it” he confirmed, he wouldn’t give Ben up for anything. “I plan to. It’s Audrey and my second wedding anniversary on Halloween so I’m planning something for us”
“Ohhhh have fun.” she grinned a bit. “I hope you have a lot of fun. That’s such a fun anniversary date, good choice.” she teased as she picked up a couple other things. “If I can ever help with anything, let me know, yeah?”
“Thank you. I’m thinking of taking her to Disneyland though I’m not sure whether or not taking Ben with us would be good or not” On the one hand it was Ben and they both pretty much always wanted him with them but the on the other it was their anniversary and time for just the two of them might be nice. “Oh I will thank you so much”
“Sounds fun. Although I think maybe a night to yourselves will be the best plan.” she smiled. “Even if it’s only once in awhile, night to yourselves is important to keeping your own identities. At least that what’ one of my foster mother’s told me.”
