Alucard wasn’t entirely sure if video games would work as a distraction for Integra but Irisa had suggested it and it seemed like it was worth a go. He’d never played any before, from what he’d seen they all seemed to be pointless violence and his violence had always had a point. But Integra needed something to do which may improve her mood, though he was hoping seeing Irisa would help. His girlfriend liked the young girl.
Irisa was looking forward to playing video games with Integra and Alucard. She only hoped she could distract Integra from being out of commission and that she wouldn’t become the ‘victim’ of her grumpiness as Alucard had said in the text. Knocking on their door, she waited for it to be answered. She stuck her thumbs in the straps and hitched the backpack containing the Playstation and games higher up on her back.
Integra was pretty much sulking at this point. Despite being active prior to her injury, her recovery had been far too slow for her tastes. She hated feeling like she had no power over this whole thing. It was driving her nuts. So she’d taken it upon herself to be crabby to just about anyone in her way. At least Alucard took getting shot pretty well. She dragged herself out of the kitchen, and headed to open the door. Seeing Irisa there, she did smile. “Well hello Irisa. Come in, come in.” she stepped back to allow her entry.
While he didn’t complain about being shot it was beginning to happen with an almost alarming regularity, he only hoped it didn’t become a habit. And that she refrained from doing it in front of their guest, Irisa was a tough girl but watching him get shot may be a little too much. “I would have answered the door love” he said with a smile at both girls, “Come through to the living room Irisa, I was just making tea”
"Hey, are you ok?" Irisa asked Integra when she saw the other woman at the door. "Tea? I suppose I could do tea," she shrugged, smiling up at Alucard as she moved into the house and headed through to the living room. Once there, she swung her backpack off and placed it on the floor next to the couch.
Integra had little patience these days and she really did feel bad about it. She offered Alucard a warm smile. “Sorry love.” she pushed her hair back with her good hand and sighed a bit. “I’ll be fine, just tired and frustrated.” She got out of the way and headed into the living room. Despite their lack of use of the room, there was a rather large screen tv and comfortable seating all around, but it really didn’t look lived in.
“We have soda or juice if you’d prefer” he offered her, glancing at Integra to see what she would like too. Pressing a kiss to her hair when she apologised. It was rather obvious they used the living room very little despite the beautiful furniture and hi tech gadgets.
“No, I can live with tea,” Irisa smiled at him. “Yeah, Alucard said you weren’t doing well with being out of commission, I’ve brought some video games for us to amuse ourselves if you’re interested?” she offered to Integra.
Integra canted her head a bit then smiled. “Thank you, Irisa. I’ve never played but we can certainly attempt it.” she was truly happy someone else had come around to help get her out of her funk. She really hated this funk, it felt bad and awful and six kinds of depressing.
Alucard knew she didn’t like feeling like she was lately so he’d hoped Irisa’s presence would help with that. Entering the kitchen he went about making them all tea, grabbing the biscuits out of the cupboard too.
"Cool, well, I wasn't sure what you'd like to try, so I brought a selection," Irisa told her as she knelt, starting to unpack the bag and laying the games on the coffee table. "A couple of driving games, first person shooters, a couple of teamwork games and just some fun party games," she shrugged and looked up at her friend and mentor with a smile. "Any of those pique your interest?"
Integra smiled a little. She had been feeling terribly violent lately. “Oh, maybe one of the first person shooters? or a teamwork game would work?” she smiled a bit. “I don’t really know games, so it’ll be a learning curve. but if it helps, I’ll be glad for it.” she smiled at Irisa. “Thank you, for doing this.”
Alucard entered as they were talking and smiled, “Teamwork is not the choice I expected” he teased winking at Irisa before smirking at Integra, “I thought you’d pick the most violent” he added, setting down the drinks and snacks before dropping a kiss to her head.
"That's ok, anything I can do to help," Irisa told Integra with a smile before grinning at Alucard's tease, looking away to the games she had lined up on the table when he paused to kiss his girlfriend. "Ok, well we have Mariokart for the Wii which is a fun driving game we could all play or there's Little Big Planet for the Playstation which is more of a fun, team work problem solving game. How's your dexterity?" Irisa asked Integra, motioning with her hands to refer to finger movements.
Integra gave Alucard a look. “I can always change my mind and go for the most violent, but I think the :Little Big Planet sounds fun. Keeps me from trying to see how many times I can get you spun out of control in Mariokart.” she smiled innocently. “Fine, it’s just stiff in the arm, thankfully my hand was left alone.” she smiled to Irisa.
“Let’s take a break from violence, you can shoot me later should the urge arise” he told her with a wry smile. “I will try whatever you both wish to play” Though he may find something he isn’t good at and become frustrated later on.
Irisa laughed at the banter between the two of them and set about putting the game system together and booting it up. Still kneeling on the floor, she reached over and handed a controller to each of them. “Here you go,” she told them, as she got up, checking the game was loading properly. Sitting down on the couch next to Integra, she smiled up at her. “We’ll go through the introduction levels because they teach you how to play the game and, to be honest, I could do with a refresher because it’s been ages since I even looked at the game,” she told them. “I mean, I assume you haven’t played it before?” she asked both of them.
Integra smiled warmly. “I’ve never once touched a video game. They weren’t in my education, I fear, and my parents probably would have banned them even if they were.” she grinned then looked over at Alucard. “As you wish, my dear, it’s been a few days hasn’t it?” she teased before looking back to Irisa. “Alright, just tell me what to do!” she was eager, because it meant focusing her mind on something else for once.
“Me either so you will be educating the both of us” Alucard said, passing a smile over to Integra as she teased him. “Okay, begin the instruction” he gestured to Irisa, they would give the younger girl their focus as they learnt a new skill.
