Who: Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes When: Oct 14, early morning Where: Their place What: Stefan plays a nasty prank Rating/Warnings: Mentions of blood, vampirism, dream gunshot wound Status: Complete
Stefan arrived on the doorstep of his house a few hours after healing Ezra from a Dream inflicted gunshot wound. He was covered in the other man’s blood, and the smell was driving him nuts. He’d held it together, though, which was quite a feat. And now he was home, desperate for a shower, but as his hand reached for the door handle, he took a moment. An evil smirk crossed his features. He glanced through the glass of the front door, and spotted a blonde in the doorway to the kitchen.
He pushed the door open and rushed in. “Caroline? Lexi? Oh, God, I’ve done something horrible.” Hopefully his acting skills were good. The blood all over him was undoubtedly convincing.
Caroline was up and getting ready for class. Ugh why were her classes so fucking early? She needed her beauty sleep. When Stefan arrived home she was in the kitchen heating up her breakfast aka a mug full of blood.
She smelled Stefan before she heard him. However she figured the blood she was smelling was just her breakfast, even if it did smell a bit different. But then she heard what Stefan said and turned to face him. He was covered in blood.
Oh no. Shit. Fuck. What the hell happened?
Her face paled. This was bad. This was very bad. There was no time for panicking though. Caroline instantly went into survival mode. “It’s okay. We can fix this. We’ll take the body and like burn it? Yeah burn it. That seems like a good plan. The cops won’t be able to trace that right? If they do we can just compel them. Vervain! We need vervain. You have to stay put Stefan. We let you out too soon. Oh god this is all my fault!”
Stefan started feeling bad the instant he saw her face go pale, but that didn’t really stop him from his little joke. (His mean, evil, selfish, little joke.) His lips cracked into a smile, and he shoved his hands into his pockets, watching her ramble for a moment.
“Man, that was a mean joke,” he spoke with a sigh, leaning back against the doorway. “It’s okay, Care. It’s not… there’s no body. Ezra woke up from his dreams with a gunshot wound, and I healed him. Actually, you’ll be proud of how much I didn’t rip his head off.”
Joke? JOKE?! “Stefan Paul Salvatore!” She gave his shoulder a shove, a bit forceful but he could handle it. He was a vampire after all. “I thought you had eaten someone! That was the worst joke ever,” she frowned crossing her arms over her chest.
“So wait. You’re telling me right now you have my English Professor’s blood all over you?” It was still weird that Stefan was friends with him. “Yeah yeah. I’m proud you didn’t eat him. Still pissed at you, but proud.”
He could handle it. That didn’t mean he didn’t recoil a bit from the force of her hand. Because Ow. She was strong. “Sorry!” He cried out, giving a little laugh as he rubbed the spot where she’d shoved. “Sorry, I couldn’t help it.”
And then he nodded. “Ezra’s. He tried to match me drink for drink last night, and I didn’t want him to die in his sleep, so I hung out at his place.” Stefan turned to look down at himself. He really did look like… well, the blood was everywhere. “He woke up with a bullet wound in his gut.”
“You are not forgiven,” her tone was light though. It was clear Caroline would get over it. But seriously that was not an okay joke. He had scared the hell out of her. Asshole.
“Why’d you you agree to let him match you shot for shot? You know your tolerance,” Caroline rolled her eyes. “Vampire you is turning into quite the prankster,” she sighed taking a sip of her breakfast. “I guess it turned out to be a good thing though since you were able to save him from dream wounds and like you know refrain from eating him. That’s a lot of progress.” Maybe really Stefan could do this.
“I’ll make it up to you,” Stefan grinned. How much did he owe her now? A lot.
“I know. He just wouldn’t take no for an answer. I think he’s still kinda hung up on the Anna thing.” Stefan admitted. “Just don’t tell her I told you that.”
At that point, Stefan heard the front door slam. He’d been so distracted by Caroline that he hadn’t heard Anna’s hurried footsteps from the bedroom to the foyer. He glanced over, then back again. “I should probably hop in the shower.”
Right. The Anna thing. She was in the process of fixing that. Well Anna remembered now. The rest was up to her. “Yeah. You smell like blood. It’s even making me hungry.” And she had a nice warm mug full still, but man Professor Ftiz’s blood smelled so much better.
“Go have your breakfast.” Stefan said, waving a hand at Caroline. then he turned to head back down the hall, stripping off his bloody clothes as he went.
