Link had been planning on moving into Midna's place for some time, but he had to wait until his lease was up at the end of September and now that it was he'd finally be able to. The whole of the day had been spent packing and putting things into storage that wouldn't fit into his shared space with the woman whom he considered a friend. Really, the better part of the few weeks had been filled with that and getting things in order.
What was worse, though, was that he'd finally broken down and gone to a doctor for his headaches and blurry vision. What it had revealed was absolutely nothing; his head was fine, nothing strange about it, and his eyes seemed to be okay. They suggested he needed more sleep and fluids, so he'd been trying that as well. Unfortunately, it hadn't helped and the past few weeks had been a blurry vision of pain and weakness. His exhaustion was growing worse, and it didn't help that he had a late night job either.
Currently, Link was putting a box on top of another, and pushing them over when he suddenly felt a surge of pain in his brain. He winced and fell to his knees, pain ebbing and flowing in his brain, pulsing it felt like. And soon he felt his vision growing blurrier and blurrier, until finally he was hit with a sudden blackness that overtook him.
Moments later the young male was laying slumped forward on his floor, out without any motion. He was breathing, and his heart pumped, but nothing moved him or woke him.
In his own mind, Link's dreams began to hit in a feverish pace. He began to relive them all; the death of the Great Deku Tree, the fires of Mount Doom, the sick Jabbu Jabbu. Meeting Zelda, Zelda escaping, the evil he felt from Ganondorf. All of it, then there it was. The Master Sword. Always the Master Sword. Making his way towards it, the young male reached to grab said sword, wrapping his hands around the blade's handle and then tugging upwards. This is usually where Link woke up, but not this time.
Instead the sword left its pedestal, and the stone room filled with blue light, which shot up from the three points of the Triforce symbol, surrounding the young hero in its glorious hue. Shooting into the sky, the world became a blaze of white and then nothing. Faintly he heard the laughter and voice of Ganondorf, but it seemed like a dream within a dream, it was so far away, and he was so lost. Ganondorf laughed, maniacally, and proceeded to exclaim his victory at being able to finally reach the Sacred Realm.
The boy, foolish in rushing to the sword, had unlocked the Sacred Realm and sealed the fate of Hyrule even before Link could even fully understand his grasp.
In the present day, real world, days passed, as Link's body lay slumped and forgotten in his own apartment, in green basketball shorts, green t-shirt, and his golden triangle necklace which was pulsing with a deep amber light. Unconscious, and out in a deep, unwavering coma, Link heard and felt nothing of the outside world as he simply dreamed.
