The past couple weeks had been absolutely horrible for Ashley. Her dreams had taken a turn for the worse, and then the Cabal had experimented on her. The result had been turning Ashley into their weapon, aimed at destroying the Sanctuary and all of Helen Magnus' work, and then unleashing chaos on the world. They had taken her DNA and woke up the dormant Abnormal DNA within her, and it had transformed her into something new. Both of her parents not only were Abnormals, but they had been made such by pure vampire blood, called the Source Blood. Blood that had survived through the ages, and Ashley was a product of her parents, and the Cabal simply woke that part of her.

Ashley had turned into a Super Abnormal, a vampire with teleporting abilities. She was stronger and more powerful than any of the Five were. Ashley was a Super Abnormal whom the Cabal drugged and kept her mind under their own power. She'd left destruction in her wake, several Sanctuaries had been destroyed by her and the five others that had been experimented on in the same way. The six of them were the same breed of Super Abnormals, all made from Ashley's own blood.

Unfortunately, when Ashley had woken up and found she'd physically turned into that Super Abnormal, that vampire, the mind control had come with it. She'd attacked Akane and hurt her. Luckily, Clara had offered a suggestion to help her. She was willing to try anything if it meant she didn't hurt anyone else. And the methods had actually worked. Though Ashley had also pointedly stayed away from people as much as possible.

And oh how she'd wanted to avoid sleeping. She could feel her dreams were coming to an end. The last one she'd confronted her mother and wounded her before getting blown up by a rocket launcher. Little did she know what her dreams held for her tonight. It picked up seemingly moments after the last one had left off. While all the other Super Abnormals save for one had been killed, the last one, aside from Ashley, was going to attack Helen. Ashley stopped her, holding onto her arm, and she looked at her mom, fully in control of herself, and she knew what needed to be done. The only way to save her mom, save the Sanctuary, was to sacrifice herself. Teleporting with the other Super Abnormal would kill them, given the Sanctuary's defense shield to prevent teleportation from occurring within it.

With one last goodbye and some tears, Ashley took a breath and steeled herself. She then teleported and both her and the other Super Abnormal were incinerated immediately.

Ashley woke up screaming, leaping out of bed as she felt her entire body was on fire. And, in a way, it was. She'd just died in her dreams, and now she felt the consequences of that. It took a while, but eventually the burning and stinging sensations subsided, the ache across her entire body, and Ashley just sunk down onto the floor and sobbed uncontrollably. She wished the dreams had never started. She wished she'd never moved here. Maybe if she hadn't she'd still be a normal woman with her entire life ahead of her. If she hadn't come here and the dreams never started, maybe she wouldn't be the monster she'd become.

The dreams had left their scars, issues stemming from the entire experience with having been experimented on in the dreams, mind controlled and now having died to save the people she loved. Not to mention what she'd done to Akane in this world and the whole being a vampire now and having abilities she couldn't control. It was too much for her to handle at once, so instead of trying to deal with them, she just let herself cry it out, and then she'd lock it all inside herself. She couldn't talk to her mom about it, and she didn't quite want to explain herself to anyone else. It was too painful, too cutting, and she didn't know how to process any of it yet. The past two weeks had been so fast she hadn't been able to process anything.

But for the moment she was more than content to just lock herself in her apartment and cry. It was all she could do.
