Peter had decided that grabbing a burger with Doreen was a brilliant idea; that being said, he also realized that the moment he decided to do that, he was maybe kind of going on a date? It was a date, right? Was it? He wasn't sure, but then realized they both joked about flirting, and that it was flirting, and then decided food was an idea, so flirting leading to food was like, at the very least, quasi-date. Which meant Peter Parker was required to be quasi-nervous, but since he wasn't remotely sure how to classify this, it meant he was entirely nervous. Peter had a tendency to overthink things, and guess what? That's precisely what he was doing right now.
Or what he'd been doing earlier. Now, Peter was pulling up in his red VW Golf GTI, pulling to a stop in front of the place he'd been informed was Doreen's, and slumped back in the seat with a sigh. He'd agonized over if he should be completely casual since it was burgers, or somewhat formal because it was a date, but then it wasn't a date, or... it was a quasi date. So he went with a nice pair of jeans and white t-shirt under a black polo. It was nice enough, but it was also something he'd normally wear that didn't involve just t-shirts. So he figured it was a good fit.
With the car coming to a stop, he debated sending her a text to let her know he was there, with just going in to say hi. He decided on the text, and decided to treat this as a more casual, fun thing rather than something super formal. It was burgers, they were geeks, that's all anything ever had to be for this entire moment in time. He'd agonize about it later.
