Haymitch was becoming a familiar face at Kenya’s club, he liked it there. The bar staff had learnt that he didn’t drink so always offered soda or water now and there was no pressure to be anything other than himself. He knew a few of the girls and he was definitely more relaxed now. He didn’t always see Kenya but when he did he always made sure to have a conversation with her. He didn’t take up too much of her time but she was a pleasant woman and he liked her intelligence.

Spotting her as he entered he smiled, “And how is the boss lady today?” he asked her.

Kenya’s smile was bright as she heard Haymitch’s greeting, she turned directions and headed over to him. She was pleased to have seen him often here, the girls liked him and had nothing but good things to say about him. It certainly made her day easier when the girls liked the customers. She had started making time for those she deemed important, and Haymitch certainly fell within her idea of important.

“Busy as always, you know how it is. But I would not have it any other way.” a warm smile as she settled next to him. “And how are you doing tonight?” she genuinely liked him, she felt pleased that the place was comfortable enough for him to be a regular.

Haymitch was nothing but polite, kind and respectful to the girls and in turn they seemed to enjoy seeing him. It was nice just to be able to forget everything and enjoy the company of beautiful and intelligent women. He was extremely grateful to Dean for bringing him here and Kenya for allowing him to frequent her establishment.

“Busy is good, it shows you’re doing well” he smiled, “I’m here, how could I be anything but good” he replied, it was a charming line but an honest one.

Kenya had enjoyed seeing her girls happy to be working. There were a couple giving her problems, but she was coming to realize that people here rarely had the same work ethic as she had had. She was learning there were a lot of differences between the mother country and America. Some were easy to embrace, some were harder.

“Busy is good. I like being busy.” she inclined her head. “We are doing well, I am very pleased. I was unsure of how it would take here.” she smiled as she nodded warmly to another customer before looking back to Haymitch. “Are they treating you well? My girls, that is.”

“It seems it’s taken very well” Haymitch told her, which he was glad of as it made a nice comfortable place to come after a hard week. “They’re wonderful, as I am sure you know. Couldn’t be nicer, it’s nice to be able to enjoy the company of a beautiful intelligent woman”

Kenya dipped her head in modesty before smiling. “I pride myself on recruiting intelligent women. I found in many places people just want looks. Here? Here though, I wanted company to matter too.” a secret smile curled her lips. Mischief. “Of course, they have to be intelligent for their other work.” He was working his way up the ladder, she was willing to hint at their other offerings.

“Company should always matter too though I am afraid my way of thinking is becoming more and more old fashioned” Haymitch said with a small wry smile. Here though, the women he spoke to truly seemed to enjoy their time with him and he found it easier to talk to a woman who wasn’t just a pretty face. He raised an eyebrow, “Intelligence is certainly an asset in most cases”

“Perhaps in America, and perhaps the youth of the world. Hopefully I can help change some peoples’ opinions. Honestly, company and conversation last longer than looks and money.” she waved her hand as if the idea of just living for money exhausted her. “I have found a need to provide people with the conversation they crave - a big part of my business is providing that outside of the club. It’s amazing that some people cannot understand the need for someone who can both be presentable and intelligent until the last minute.” Kenya smiled a little bit. “But lucky for them, I am here.”

“I am sure if anybody can then you can” Haymitch told her with a smile, he had no doubt she was a very smooth businesswoman. And he was rather impressed with that as much as the woman herself. “I think I can safely say we are very lucky you are here” And it was true, she provided a service which was very much needed and wanted.

Kenya graced his cheek with a light kiss. “You’re very sweet, Haymitch. I’m glad you come, one of my most pleasant clients.” she smiled warmly at him. “Come, let us get you settled and relaxed. I am lucky to have the chance to be here for everyone. No one always knows what they need or want but that’s my job.” she teased warmly.

“Well thank you for that, I’m glad I make a good impression” Haymitch replied, because despite PR being his business he was more known for his blunt honesty than his fancy words. He chuckled softly, “And one you do superbly” he said moving to settle himself down as she suggested, an evening of relaxation was just what was in order.

“You do indeed make a wonderful impression.” she said with a warm smile as she settled him down and made sure everything would arrive as necessary. He no longer needed to order his drink - his exact order would arrive as he settled down. If nothing else, they were all well versed in memorizing and remembering their best clients. “I hope you have a lovely evening, please let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.”

That was one thing which Haymitch liked about this place, the need to not have to order things. His order was well known and almost everybody knew it. Just one more personal touch. “I am positive I will and thank you so much Kenya” he smiled before he let her go about her business.
