Who: Jeremy and Myrcella
When: During the Giga plot
Where: Jeremy's old house
What: Hiding from the storm
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete
The initial storms hadn’t been so bad, but once the ocean had started going crazy, Jeremy had decided that it was probably for the best if they moved somewhere else until the storm subsided considering their house was virtually on the beach. After calling his sisters, to make sure it was okay with them, not that he’d expected them to say no, they’d headed over to the Gilbert house to wait it out.
Since Myrcella had had a plenty big enough bed at her place, Jeremy had left things like his bed and mattress at the house so there was atleast a place for them to sleep while they were there and Irisa could sleep on the couch downstairs. No one slept in their parents’ old room.
“I’m glad we moved over here when we did. I was just watching the news and the ocean is going crazy.” Jeremy hoped that when they did go back to the house that there wasn’t much damage.
Myrcella hadn’t wanted to leave her home, their home, she had to agree that it was more sensible with the weather and ocean going crazy. Dragon was missing the beach she knew but the dog was mostly just glad to be with them. She’d taken him for a few walks around the garden but none of them wanted to go too far right now.
“I hope the house is okay” she said, snuggling against him, “I’d hate to lose everything we have there”
“I’m sure it will be,” Jeremy was trying to reassure Myrcella that everything would be alight and he really hoped it would because he wasn’t entirely sure what they would do or what they were supposed to do if there was a lot of damage to the house. Storms like this didn’t usually happen in California so when you lived on the beach you were usually safe. “This can’t last long.”
Myrcella smiled, happy to be comforted by Jeremy even if she knew he couldn’t really make any guarantees. It was still nice that he tried to reassure her. “I hope not. It wasn’t so bad at first but it’s getting scary now”
Jeremy nodded and wrapped his arm around Myrcella, “I know what you mean. Hopefully the tide doesn’t rise too high.” While Jeremy didn’t except any flooding, that didn’t mean that the storm couldn’t still do damage to the house. “By the way, where’s Dragon?” Jeremy had last seen their dog lying under the dining room table, but that had been earlier in the day.
“It looks like it’s just getting violent not flooding, hopefully” she added, she was sure they’d see on the news if it did start flooding any areas. “He was in the kitchen earlier, looking forlornly at his bowl even though he’d only just eaten” Myrcella said, before whistling for him.
“That’s because he’s got a bottleless stomach.” Jeremy smirked, his fingers toying with Myrcella’s hair where it rested on her shoulder, “I was thinking though, after this is all over, maybe we could go somewhere. Like a vacation.” Part of Jeremy wanted to leave Orange County altogether, but he couldn’t do that to his sisters. He’d just gotten them back and they only had each other so leaving was out of the question, but a little time away wouldn’t be a bad idea. “We don’t even need to go very far. Just somewhere outside of California for a few days.”
Myrcella smiled up at him, pressing a kiss to his jaw, “I think that’s a lovely idea” she told him, “Irisa can watch Dragon and with Capable at the shop now I’m sure I can get time off” She snuggled closer, “Did you have anywhere in mind?” she asked him, already feeling excitement prickle in her at the thought of a holiday with Jeremy.
“Have you ever been camping?” Jeremy hadn’t been camping in a long time and he’d been thinking of it a little recently, but he didn’t think that Myrcella was the camping sort of girl, but really there was only one way to find out. “Like actual sleeping in a sleeping bag in a tent camping. Not cabin camping.” Not that there was anything wrong with cabin camping, but Jeremy liked camping in a tent when he did it.
Myrcella shook her head, “I haven’t no” she said, “But I wouldn’t mind trying. I think that sounds like fun. Do we need to get a lot of stuff?” she asked him, she wasn’t sure exactly what camping implied apart from a tent and sleeping bags of course.
“No, we’ve actually got stuff in the attic.” Jeremy gestured towards the ceiling, “And we’ve actually got a cabin where we have more stuff. So, I mean, technically we could go up there and spend some time camping outside and the rest camping inside if there are too many bugs and too much dirt for your liking.” He couldn’t resist teasing her a little.
“Really?” she said, before digging in his ribs when he teased her, “I may be a princess in my dreams but I’m not afraid of a little dirt. Bugs maybe but I have my brave boyfriend to protect me from those” she grinned, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
Jeremy laughed as she pressed into his ribs and he brought his hand up to muss her hair, “Alright then. It’s settled. Camping it is. I’ll ask Elena and Katherine if they know where the keys are for the cabin.” Jeremy was pretty sure they had to be somewhere in the house. Until now he’d never really thought about where his parents kept the keys.
“Camping it is” she agreed, rather looking forward to the adventure of it. Myrcella hadn’t been lying, she didn’t mind a bit of dirt and mess in fact she liked the idea of being out and about with nature and Jeremy. Bugs she wouldn’t like but she’d put up with them for a chance to experience something new.
