'Boss' was a strange word to apply to the man who ran Rainbow Motor Repair. He'd taken the place on after John Winchester lost it gambling; in doing so, he'd also taken on Dean and his kid brother Sammy since if he got rid of Dean, he'd essentially be leaving the brothers to starve. They owed him a debt Dean would never repay no matter how many classics he fine-tuned.
The place was often left to Dean to close up. He set his own hours more often than not. Summer was his time to try to make himself a better man. Everyone at the shop knew he wanted to do lawns. They all thought it was a Hell of a funny thing for a guy like Dean. He wasn't the artistic type nor did he have any real education. It wasn't as if he oozed the kind of attitude which said he'd be interested in building outdoor water fountains.
Dean couldn't -or rather wouldn't- explain himself to them either.
It was none of theirs why he wanted to work lawns.
"Nux!"
He tended to get stuck at the place with the kid. Nux needed the hourly wage from working late and Dean liked the company. It worked out for both of them. Dean tended to lose him in the shuffle as he was rumbling around the place though which was never good.
Some guys needed constant supervision.
Like kids.
Or pit bulls.
"Dude, you up for some more lawn and gardening? I got a few new clients could use the help with if you want to make some extra funds."
