It was downright stupid how heavy some of these books were.
It wasn't as if this was the first time Altaïr had dealt with an earthquake. This was Southern California; you were ridiculous if you freaked out about them. But this was the first time that he likely received a concussion from his damn law journals.
Putting the books (and there were so many hard-bound, thousand paged books) behind his desk had been an absolutely terrible idea. So there he laid, sprawled on the floor and covered in journals.
