"Ah haven't been able ta really do any bakin' in months."
Who: Anna and Raven
What: Moving into Remy's place
Where: Remy's place
When: Friday Evening
Status: Complete
Rating: PG-13
The house was impressive, Anna had to give him that credit. Impressive enough that she and Raven shared a look as they entered. What kind of money did this man have? There wasn't much damage from the earth quake. They'd need to clean up some plaster, and replace a couple of windows. There was a crack in the corner of one wall but it didn't look serious and could be covered up easily enough.
Raven said nothing, exploring the house and then claiming an ocean-facing bedroom. She wore her hair bright red today, wanting to make the most stunning impression. Often she had black wigs, or dyed it black when she needed to not be as easily remembered.
She knew Anna would pick one nearby - just far enough to have some peace but close enough to be near. Their relationship was an odd one, to say the least. They left the largest bedroom free.
"Oh muh gawd."
Peering into the kitchen, Raven spotted Anna inspecting the oven. She rolled her eyes, "How can you do your job if you'll be glued to the oven?"
"Yuh can bite me," She replied, hugging the gigantic oven with both arms. "Ah haven't been able ta really do any bakin' in months."
Miffed, the older woman rolled her eyes, "It wasn't my fault the oven caught fire."
"If yuh fuckin' remembered ta clean it every now an' again, maybe it wouldn't have caught fire!" Anna jutted her hips to on side, planting her hands on them, "House rule, y'all stay away from the kitchen. Ah'm so tired of take-out. If ah have ta eat Chinese one more time ah might just explode."
Raven took a seat at the kitchen table as her 'daughter' took an inventory of cooking and baking supplies, "There's a major fundraiser coming up. I should be able to get us some invitations. I want you targetting the ambassador."
Anna peeked up from a counter, holding a baking tray, "Think he knows somethin' useful, mama?" She made a mental note to not call her 'mama' around this Remy person. He probably wouldn't understand.
And it might make Raven feel much older than she was. Raven nodded her head, "I do. As for our esteemed lender of living spaces, we should get the lay of the land before deciding if he might know anything of interest."
"Yuh just wanna get the lay of the man," Anna shot her a look, then added. "Slut."
"I'm looking for something I found years ago and lost," Raven quipped, though not without some bitterness.
Anna came over and hugged her from behind, "Ah know. She's out there somewhere, sugar. Yuh'll find her."
"Oh keep your romantic claptrap to yourself." Raven pulled away, ignoring the hurt look on Anna's face, "Make up a shopping list, I'll order groceries."
"Yes ma'am." Anna whipped out a pen and paper and quickly wrote down what she needed for the next few days to keep them fed. And pie materials.
She really, really wanted an apple pie, "There's this place ah want apple pie ingrediants from specific like.."
"I know the place. I don't know if they deliver, but I'll stop by when I'm out tomorrow."
"Yuh the best." She kissed Raven on the cheek.
Raven played lazily with one of Anna's dyed bangs, "No, I just really want some pie."
