Rebecca looked at her phone reading over the texts from Finn for what had to have been the hundredth time. She couldn't believe what she was reading. Her brothers were vampires. Part of her wanted to ask her oldest brother if he had fallen back into old habits but she knew better than that. And Finn wasn't one to simply make up stories. If it had been Kol telling her this she would have assumed that he was playing another one of his jokes. And her response would have been very different. It would have most certainly included the words piss off and don’t be an idiot.
There was also the buzz around that silly little network as well. All sorts of talk of demons and vampires. Could it all actually be real? The thought sent a small shudder through her. Things that she thought were only found in stories and myths actually walking the earth. It was a bit of a scary thought. And to know that her family was part of the spookiness was frightening as well. Not that she would ever be afraid of them. She cpuldnt even fathom one of them actually hurting her. Not on purpose anyway.
Sighing softly, she reached for the glass of wine that sat on the coffee table and took a small sip as she played the words over in her mind. One question that had yet to be answered was why it was affecting Niklaus differently. Finn and Kol seemed to be her same brothers. At least as far as she could tell through a text conversation. But she had tried calling Nik multiple times and sent an embarrassing amount of texts and she still had yet to hear a word. Not to mention that more than one person had informed her that he wasn’t the same anymore. If the vampire story was true, maybe he was taking it harder than the others? Or was it something else. Rebekah just didn't know. And she hated it. She hated feeling so disconnected with them.
It was partly her fault, she knew. She had wanted to see the world. She wanted to be something separate from her family. To not just be another Mikaelson child. She had packed her bags and left without a look back. And while she had enjoyed it greatly she wondered if the cost meant she would never be as close to her siblings as she used to be. The last few months though she had felt that she needed to return her old home. Like An itch in the back of her mind that couldn't be scratched. Once again her bags had been packed and she was on another flight across the sea. Maybe it was a sixth sense. Maybe her heart was trying to tell her she was needed here.
Deciding that she couldnt be alone with her thoughts anymore, Rebekah got up and grabbed her coat. She needed to talk to someone. Anyone at this point. She figured she would start with Kol and go from there. Picking up her phone she dialed the familiar number and waited for an answer.
"I hope you're home. We need to talk." was all she said before disconnecting the call and heading out into the night.
