Who: Svetlana and Anatoly
What: Things are happening, so Anatoly worries gets his mother hen-ing on and goes to ensure Svetlana is okay. And makes a fool of himself in the process.
When: this evening
Where: Svetlana's place
Warnings: Awkwardness. Such awkward.
So it hadn't escaped Anatoly's noticed that something was happening. He'd heard about the attacks, and of course he was growing concerned. Especially after the crime wave that had gone through Orange County a couple months earlier. Was this just one of those "Orange County things" like the incident where people seemed to have switched bodies? He seriously hoped so because this being something else wasn't something he liked. This needed to be one of those things that just stopped. Like the rise in crime that had just tapered off eventually and was back to normal.
But of course, this was Orange County, of course these attacks had strangeness to them. Anatoly had been fortunate in that he'd avoided any personal encounters with things. Though the stories about the deaths that had happened left him feeling uneasy. And given his dreams and the connection he and Svetlana had in them (...well, except apparently his dream self in the last couple dreams he'd had was drifting away from that, but he wasn't going to mention that), his worry went into overdrive. Especially given how when they'd initially ran into each other here, Svetlana had been in the process of getting attacked.
So what did he do? The logical thing, of course. Which instead of simply calling Svetlana, he decided to indulge his worrying self and went to see if Svetlana was alright in person. Because that was the rational response, right? Right. Of course it was. That's what he kept telling himself, anyway. Though his presence would undoubtedly get a reaction that he was worrying far too much. Even if his worry was based in solid fact at the moment. But Anatoly was a worrier, it was his nature, and he couldn't exactly change it. Even if he wanted to he doubted that he actually could change.
And so it was without further ado that he headed over to Svetlana's place and knocked on the door. Maybe there was a slight urgency to the knock, but otherwise Anatoly was trying not to appear desperate to know that Svetlana was okay. There was absolutely no way that this could turn awkward fast. Nope. Not at all.
