Josephine was extremely happy that she’d gotten the job at Sato Electric and had decided that she needed to celebrate. She hadn’t been out to a club in awhile and thought that it was way past overdue that she went. She knew of a few in town and began to narrow down which one would be best to celebrate at. While doing this she began to decide whether she should go alone or invite someone to go with her. That was when she’d thought of Naga. She’d gotten together with the other woman before her interview at Sato and thought that they had hit it off well, so she had decided to see if she would be free for a night at Always.
Naga was certainly free. It was a little exciting, she hadn’t exactly been out with someone in ages, and in all honesty the last time she’d hung out with another woman had involved too much alcohol. She dressed up in a top that emphasized her considerable assets, complemented by a short skirt. She showed up a little early, and waited nervously.
Josephine had decided on a short red dress with one shoulder strap that showed off her own curves. She’d only gotten the chance to wear the dress once, so she felt that it was perfect for a night out on the town. She arrived a few minutes after Naga, smiling when she saw the brunette standing outside, “Hey! Been waiting long?” She couldn’t help but check the other woman out and part of her hoped that she had been discreet about it.
“Just arrived a few minutes ago myself,” Naga replied, her eyes taking in the other woman and finding her to be quite the sight. She usually needed a few drinks before embracing her heteroflexibility but she liked what she saw. She planted her hand on her hip and laughed. To say that Naga’s laugh could send the dead scurrying to the graves was an understatement.
“Great. I was worried that I’d be late and you’d be waiting out here for awhile.” Josephine smiled, brows rising slightly as the other woman laughed. It was an interesting laugh; one she would almost categorize as an evil bad guy laugh, but she thought that would be rude to say out loud. “Why don’t we head inside. First round of drinks are on me.”
“Sounds lovely.” Despite her boistrous laugh, she had a kind smile, and she turned it onto Josie with full charm, too. “After you.”
It was definitely a laugh that Josephine had never quite heard before, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Every’s laugh was different. Returning the smile, Josephine turned and headed into the club, glancing back to make sure that Naga was following. Once inside, she led the way towards the bar and after a moment or two got the bartender’s attention. After ordering her own drink, she turned to the other woman, “What’re you having?”
“I’ll have what you’re having,” Naga said, knowing full well if she started ordering drinks she wouldn’t stop. Which wasn’t always a bad thing, except when you were trying to impress someone. Unless it was a drinking contest.
Josephine ordered the same thing for Naga and when the drinks were set on the bar, she paid then picked them both up and gestured towards an empty table, “Wanna sit over there?” Josephine definitely planned on doing some dancing tonight, but first she wanted to enjoy her drink and Naga’s company.
“Yeah.” She picked up her drink and swayed her hips as she walked over to the table. She glanced behind her, before sitting down and crossing her legs. “You have good taste.”
Josephine followed Naga to the table, her gaze drifting slightly, not that anyone could blame her with the way the other woman was swaying her hips. Reaching the table, she took the seat across from her, “Thanks. Have you been here before? It’s one of the nicer places I’ve found out here.” There was just something about the atmosphere at Always.
“First time here.” The last bar Naga had walked into had nearly gotten leveled in the magic fight between her and Lina. She really hoped she didn’t see Lina. Her emotions and feelings regarding the redhead were conflicted, but she knew the other woman hated her. It actually kind of hurt. “I think its really lovely, you have good taste.”
“Thank you.” Josephine smiled and took a sip of her drink, “I hope you’ll still feel that way later. We could come back another time if you do.” She wasn’t trying to assume anything, but she already enjoyed spending time with Naga and she hoped that they would get to spend time together again. “Been up to anything since last time we met up?”
She smirked lightly. “Just been keeping busy with work.” Which wasn’t something she could really talk about, but she could make some things up, she thought. “I don’t have much of a social life.”
“I have a fairly small social life too.” Josephine liked going out clubbing now and them, but it wasn’t as if she had a large circle of friends that she hung out with regularly, “Although, I recently found out that a few of my old friends are also in town, so I have a feeling that that’s going to change soon.” Josephine couldn’t quite believe that Cass and Leliana were both in the OC as well. It had been awhile since she’d seen them both and would have to contact them very soon so that they could all catch up.
There weren’t many ‘old friends’ that Naga would want to see, either from her dreams or her real life. But she was glad to see someone look forward to that. It gave her hope for the future, in a way. “That’s good! That gives you a one up on me.” She pouted, leaning forward to make sure Josephine got a good look.
Josephine laughed softly at Naga’s pout, “You never know, perhaps my friends will welcome you into our group as well. We’re certainly not the sort to be snobby or anything.” Then again Cass was a little grumpy at times, but that was usually when Josephine and Leliana got on about clothes and shoes. “And then we’ll be equal.” Besides, Josephine would very much like to spend more time with Naga and one way to assure that would be to introduce her to her friends.
That was unexpected, and Naga covered up her nerves with another ear-aching laugh. “I’m sure they’re pleasant, I just wouldn’t want to impose.” Not that Naga ever had a problem imposing, actually. But that was usually reserved for people she knew. Once Naga knew a person, you generally couldn’t shake her out of your life even if you wanted to.
“Oh, you wouldn’t be imposing at all.” Josephine smiled and took a sip of her drink, “Well, Cassie might grump a little at first, but I’m sure Leliana would welcome you into the fold.” Leliana would probably ask Naga about clothes and shoes and judge her by her responses.
“It might be nice.” Naga sighed dramatically. She didn’t have friends. Lina was the closest thing to a friend she had, which was pathetic and a little depressing, seeing as the redhead wanted nothing to do with her.
Still smiling, Josephine reached out to place her hand on Naga’s, “And if it turned out not to be nice, you could blame me and I’d take full responsibility.” But she didn’t foresee it being bad. Of course, before Josephine introduced Naga to her friends, she had to get together with them herself. She had been so busy trying to get the job at Sato that she hadn’t had the time to plan a get together with Leliana and Cassandra since finding out they were in the OC as well. That had to change soon.
Naga glanced down at Josephine’s hand for a brief second before looking back at her. “Oh I’ll blame you and then I’d have to punish you.”
Josephine’s brows rose slightly, “Oh? And exactly how would you do that?” Well now she was intrigued. Who wouldn’t be intrigued after a statement like that?
She drew a blank for a second, having not expected a come back that quickly. To cover, she threw her head back and laughed, before responding. “Wouldn’t you like to know? We should ... “ she nodded her head towards the people dancing.
“I would actually, but I can wait.” Still smirking, Josephine followed Naga’s gesture, glancing towards the dance floor then nodded, “Sure.” Picking up her drink, she downed the rest of it before getting to her feet and holding her hand out towards the other woman, “Shall we?”
Naga took Josie’s hand, feeling a slight thrill as she stood. “I’ll lead.” She sounded confident, even though she hadn’t danced or clubbed in years. But she let the confidence she exuded bolster herself as she led the other woman out to the dance floor. The lights flashed brightly and the music was fast.
“Be my guest.” Josephine let Naga lead her out onto the dance floor, her eyes closing briefly as she let the lights and music wash over her. It had been awhile since she’d gone clubbing properly and now that she’d had a drink and was out on the dance floor, she wondered why it had taken her so long.
Opening her eyes, she smiled at Naga as she started moving to the beat of the music.
Naga lifted her arms, letting her hips do the talking. This wasn’t so bad. It was a bit like casting a spell. Or maybe the spell was being cast on her. Didn’t matter, for the first time since she’d come to the county she didn’t feel alone.
Josephine smiled as she watched Naga, dancing along with her. She clearly appeared to be more at ease now and Josephine was happy to see it. Moving a little closer, she leaned in so the other woman would be able to hear her over the music, “You’re a good dancer.”
“You really think so?” Naga bumped her hips against Josie’s, leaning her face in dangerously close. “You’re pretty good yourself.” This was going well. Naga was actually a little surprised. Nothing had exploded yet.
Josephine bumped her hip back against Naga’s, still smiling, “Thanks. I thought I’d be a little rusty since I haven’t been out in a while, but I guess it’s just like riding a bike.” All one really had to do to dance was move their body to the music. Josephine didn’t think it was terribly difficult, but not everyone felt that way.
Naga’s brain went places, and she lost her footing and nearly fell over. She grabbed onto Josephine, clinging tightly until she had her balance and her mental state back. “You’re definitely not rusty!”
As Naga lost her footing, Josephine reached out to grab hold of her arms, not wanting the other woman to fall, but Naga had grabbed her first, which Josephine didn’t exactly mind. “Are you alright?” She asked, a slightly amused went also concerned look upon her face, “Alcohol getting to you already?”
“Uh. Yeah. I’m getting a little tipsy.” That was less embarrassing than the alternative. She straightened and fixed her cleavage. “Thanks for the catch. Maybe we should sit down?”
As Naga fixed her cleavage, Josephine couldn't help it if her gaze drifted ever so slightly for a moment before nodding, "Sure. Do you want another drink or are you too tipsy for that?" Sittings was less dangerous than dancing when one was tipsy; most of the time anyway.
She held up one long finger. “One more drink, please. Honestly if I was out with anyone else I’d be halfway to out of it.” She couldn’t believe she’d just admitted that. “Except I like you and you don’t need to see me that way.”
Josephine couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face, “Really? Well, I like you too.” She led Naga back to the table, “So sloppy drunkeness will just have to wait for another time.” Josephine had had her fair share of post clubbing nights where she’d spent the rest of the evening praying to the porcelain throne so Naga wasn’t alone there.
“There could be other sloppy things,” Naga suggested, unsure of what was coming over her but pretty certain she didn’t want to go home alone if she could help it. “And that sounds terrible so how about I show you my magic hands.”
Which sounded even more terrible, so she quickly added. “Magic. I do magic.”
Josephine’s brows rose slightly at that, “Magic? Like real magic? Wait, let me get drinks and then you can tell me all about it and when the drinks are gone, we can decide where to go from there.” It sounded like a good plan to her.
Naga nodded her head. “You’re going to want some drinks for this.” She looked around the club, cautiously. “Because I might end up blowing something up.”
If it was possible, Josephine’s brows rose even higher, “Then I will get the drinks and you find another table and then we’ll see if we’re gonna leave with the building still standing.” She grinned, excited to see what Naga could do. She had heard about the strange dreams that people on Valarnet had and that sometimes things bled over and this would be her first taste of that.
Leaving still standing? As far as Naga was concerned that wasn’t going to happen.
