As far as Finnick's own dreams, things had been going well. He'd had more of them, but knowing that he was not alone - that Buffy and Liam also had dreams, some of them unpleasant - had helped him find a little perspective. He preferred that answer to the assumption that he was growing acclimatized; no one wanted to get used to that kind of violence. Sleeping through the night was a mercy, and if he tossed a little, at least he wasn't shouting or waking Annie with his nightmares. Annie. He considered it such a mercy that she hadn't been forced to dream the Cornucopia. If the Games were real, he'd have volunteered in her place in an instant, even knowing what would come of it. Sadly, that wasn't how it worked. He was asleep, sound asleep, when something in the real world dragged him out of his own dream and into consciousness. "Annie?" He asked, instinctively. |
