Oh, the sarcasm came across. And gosh darn it if it wasn't a bit of a turn-on for Kate. She liked the snark. Maybe more than she should have.
And she shrugged. She'd done okay. She was having a good time, making a living wage, and barely touching her trust fund. That was a good sign, right? She could have done a lot worse. She could have done a lot better, too, but couldn't everyone?
"Okay," she said, and accepted the bottle with another quick "thanks" before heading into the den. Of course, she pretty much ignored the television and went straight to Lucky to dote on the dog.
Once Clint was done with the pizza kid, Kate moved to the sofa to find a remote and fiddle with the television. Ah, neflix. A great way to waste a few hours, a great way to spend 'em, too.
