The last thing Cass had expected upon waking up that morning was to find someone else in bed next to her. Not only was someone else in bed next to her, but it was a woman. That in itself was enough to cause Cass to start freaking out, but it soon became apparent that not only was she not in her own bed, but she wasn’t even in her own room. And to make matters even worse, as if that were possible, she then realized that she wasn’t even in her own body! She was in a guy’s body. Unsure of what exactly she was supposed to do, she reached over and shook the blonde’s shoulder, “Ah….hello?”
Gwen was still half-asleep when she felt Michael start to move. She rolled over onto her side, letting the world in slowly, like sunlight through some horizontal blinds. It was early enough that she hadn't quite roused on her own.
"Morning, Babe," she mumbled sleepily. "It's Saturday. Lemme go back to sleep."
While she felt bad that she had to wake the other girl up, Cass couldn’t exactly wait until she decided to wake up on her own, “It’s probably a better idea if you wake up now actually. We’ve got an Orange County situation going on.” At least she assumed it was, cause this was just like that time that her and Violet had swapped bodies or when she’d become a guy the year before. However, this time she didn’t know whose body she was in and being a guy had been a lot less weird when she had still been herself, but as a guy.
“Hmm?” Gwen forced herself to rouse, turning over a little to look at Michael in the bed with her. She glanced past him to the window, then around the room. Of course, she had no idea what was going on. An ‘Orange County situation’? “...is it snowing?”
“No. Not snowing.” Cass shook her head...the guy’s head, “This is going to sound real strange, or maybe not, but….I’m pretty sure I’m in the wrong body.” To a non dreamer it probably would sound extremely weird, but even having just woken up, the blond seemed familiar from Valarnet so it was possible that she would catch on to what Cass was getting at.
Gwen sat up a little, lifting her hands to tuck her hair behind her ears and out of her face. She frowned a bit. “You’re not Michael?” She asked, though she already knew the answer. This was Orange County, it wasn’t that far out of the question to wake up next to someone in the wrong body.
Cass nodded, glad that the other girl seemed to catch on, “No. Sorry. My name’s Cass.” It sounded strange coming from someone else’s mouth, in someone else’s voice, but she’d had a little time to get used to that when she’d become a guy the previous year. But that had been a little different since this was someone else’s body completely.
“Ah. Well. Hello, Cass.” Gwen said, sitting up the rest of the way and folding her legs underneath her. She wondered briefly where Michael might be right now, but figured he’d probably swapped with this Cass person. “Um… so, it’s nice to meet you? I’m Gwen.”
“Hi Gwen,” Cass ran a hand through her hair, Michael’s hair, “This is really weird.” That was stating the painfully obvious, but Cass wasn’t really sure what else to say about this. She was in another guy’s body and she could only assume that Michael was in her body and she could only hope that he wasn’t some weirdo.
At least Gwen wasn’t naked. That was one blessing of this absolutely bizarre situation. She was clothed, and he was, too. They’d fallen into a routine, the pair of them, and the sex wasn’t happening as much as it used to. Not that that was bad--it meant more when they did have it--and today it was actually quite a good thing. Gwen wasn’t exposed in front of a stranger. Even though the stranger was wearing her boyfriend’s body.
“...It’s ridiculously weird. Are you okay?” She asked, gently. “I mean… as okay as can be expected? Can I make you a cup of tea, or something? You can call your phone and… try and figure out what… to do next?”
“I’m as good as I can be, I guess.” It was then that she remembered that Laura was supposed to move back in that afternoon. She was gonna have to let her friend know that they were going to have to postpone. “I need to text my friend too. But tea sounds good. Thanks.” Tea or coffee was probably a good idea before she did anything else. She just hoped that this didn’t last too long otherwise it was going to impact her time at the gym with the girls.
