No matter what state Helena tended to be in, she always cared about other people. Even with the things in her life she was trying to ignore, combined with the stress her own dreams were putting her under, she pushed them all aside and focused instead on Clara. It had been a trait inherent in Helena, caring about others. It had simply become exacerbated since she'd become a mother.
Now she wasn't going to try and mother Clara, she simply was going to try and ensure she was as alright as possible. And watching Clara now after being removed from the distractions and lighting of the club, she could see some of the effects, the cracks in Clara's armor, as it were. Helena had a feeling there was so much more going on, and while it may be true that she couldn't really help the source of the problem, there were still things she could do.
"Perhaps I may not be able to do anything about the source of what's happening, but I am still able to help in other ways," she said gently, noting how Clara stared at the ground. "Would you let me take you home, maybe keep you company for a little while?" She definitely meant that in a platonic way. Despite the flirting inside the club, Helena was completely serious now, something evident in the tone of her voice.
And she wanted to at least get Clara somewhere less exposed than being on a sidewalk outside of a club. Whether it was getting Clara back to her own place or taking her to hers, it didn't matter. But Helena had a feeling it would be better if Clara were able to be somewhere quiet with some company.
