Who: Tenoh Haruka and Meioh Setsuna What: Talking, some flirting When: Sometime during the week after the traumalog. Where: A library near Haruka and Michiru’s flat. Rating: PG-13 for swears and terrible flirting. Status: Complete. :v
When the dreams had started, Setsuna’s initial reaction had been to research, to see if there was any meaning in them. Unfortunately for her, there’d been nothing in the books she found about giant silver doors engraved with phases of the Moon, nothing about the mysterious misty corridor she constantly found herself in.
There’d certainly been nothing about the sudden and inexplicable appearance of Michiru and her boyfriend. There wasn’t even a logical explanation, as far as she could tell - they’d simply appeared one day, seemingly her comrades in a great battle against terrible evil.
She sighed and placed her book aside. This wasn’t going well.
It would so happen that, that day of all days, Haruka had decided to take a look in the library. She wasn’t particularly interested in talk of dreams, considering she and Michiru had talked over most of what’d happened in theirs. She’d even played her a song that she’d heard when they were all in their soldier forms.
It’d done wonders to distract her from her dysphoria, which’d been reaching all time highs ever since Meetra’s untimely interruption. Michiru had managed to help her get it back down to manageable levels, and, honestly, Meetra’s apparent willingness to understand and to learn had too.
“Meioh-san?” The woman actually lived close enough to come here? You really did learn something new every day... glancing at the books she had, she tried to hide her surprise. So, it wasn’t just her and Michiru? “You’ve been having strange dreams too?”
Setsuna sighed, rubbing lightly at her temples. “Strange is an understatement. There’s nothing even remotely relating to them in these books... and these are supposed to be fairly comprehensive.”
Not that she put much into the idea of dreams being able to predict things. True, they could reflect one’s inner psyche, but the idea of them foretelling the future was something that was almost purely fictional.
Haruka took a seat across the table from her, idly flicking through one of the books. It had pretty pictures, at least, but if someone as educated as Setsuna thought it was rubbish... “You could tell me about them. That’s what Michiru and I do.”
Setsuna just gave her a Look.
“...That could be taken the wrong way, huh?” Haruka ran a hand through her hair, setting the book aside. “We have... unusual dreams too. Defenders of the universe in sera fuku, fighting back the forces of evil. Humans with the power of the planets.”
There was a pause. Setsuna leveled Haruka with her garnet gaze. “The Sailor Senshi, correct?”
Haruka nodded, taking a quick glance around to ensure nobody was listening in before continuing. “I guess that means you know. About... who I really am.”
“As if you could ever hide from me, Uranus,” the Lone Guardian smirked, something about that stirring an odd sense of deja-vu in Haruka’s mind. “It’s almost like you and Neptune called me here. You two were the first thing I dreamt of.”
Well, that wasn’t creepy at all. Haruka cleared her throat, rubbing at the back of her neck. “Speaking of things that could be taken the wrong way...”
The Garnet Guardian flushed immediately, making Haruka laugh. “Take it easy, Setsuna-san. I’m just teasing.”
That didn’t lessen the blush at all, but Setsuna was able to press on. Somehow. “I suppose some things never change... you always were a terrible flirt.”
Haruka grinned, leaning back in her chair. “I think the words you’re looking for are ‘magnificent bastard’, not ‘terrible flirt’.” Maybe she was being a little smug, but hey, it wasn’t every day she got to relax with someone who felt so much like an old friend. “You know I’ve only got eyes for Michiru...”
That earned a soft smile. “You two were always destined... even when I dream I’m in that lonesome corridor, I can sense your energies. You’re always so perfectly in sync... maybe that’s why you’re so effective.”
She clearly hadn’t dreamt about Galaxia yet. Lucky woman. Just thinking about that dream made her wrists burn, the ache return to her chest. They’d sacrificed everything just for a shot at the Golden Queen... she didn’t even know if it’d worked. If there was another part to the dream, it’d not had the courtesy to show up yet.
“I don’t know if I’d call us effective. We’re... just soldiers. One part of a whole,” they’d all seemed so much more effective when they were all together. Their Princess guided them, and all of them served their own roles. “Neptune and I run like the wind, strike like the restless seas... and that alone doesn’t win a battle.”
“You’re starting to think like a soldier,” it was just an observation. Setsuna couldn’t help but look over the other woman, trying to analyse what she could. She knew her true gender, considering that’d come as part of the dreams, but there was so much that remained a mystery. “I’d like to talk to you and Michiru-san about all this. With the both of you together, and... somewhere more private.”
Haruka nodded. “I think we have enough tabloid attention already... they’re still convinced Michiru’s pregnant, and that’s something we really don’t want to touch.”
“I was rather wondering how you’d managed that,” Setsuna admitted, a slight smirk gracing her lips when Haruka blushed, ducking her head. “I should get going, lessons to plan... I’ll arrange something with Michiru-san.”
Haruka threw a lazy salute, making the Lone Guardian chuckle and shake her head. “See you, Setsuna-san. It’ll be nice to have another beauty in the house.”
Setsuna rolled her eyes and went to head home. Honestly, she’d never understand how Michiru could put up with Haruka...
