Now that the crime crisis was over, Kate felt like she could relax and slow down a bit. She took a spa day to work out her soreness, then decided that she and Elsa were long over due for a real date. It would be a good excuse to discuss wedding plans. Kate was antsy to get that out of the way - she didn’t have cold feet in the slightest, though she worried about Elsa’s safety. The blonde always did a number on her resolve where that was concerned. After all, Kate was pretty madly in love.
She went with red (of course), a clingy, floor length dress that was as classy as it was sexy, and waited for her fiance. She’d picked out a red and black coup to drive them, today.
Elsa was excited to be going on a date with Kate, they hadn’t taken enough time for themselves lately and they really should talk about the wedding. Elsa wouldn’t listen to any of Kate’s worries, there was nothing on this earth that was going to stop them getting married and having their happily ever after. Kate wasn’t the only one madly in love.
She’d chosen a nice lacy short black number for the night and as she came down the stairs she realised she would match well with Kate. “You look beautiful” she told her fiance.
Someone could show up and kill you hadn’t been enough to deter Elsa and Kate didn’t have any other arguments that were better than that. But all that was forgotten when Elsa came down the stairs. Her eyes roamed up the weather anchor’s legs and she forgot how to breathe by the time she reached Elsa’s face. Hot damn. “Every time I see you you get prettier.” Which was a whole lot of pretty at this rate.
“You, my love, are a complete charmer” Elsa purred as she moved closer wrapping her arms around Kate, “And it’ll get you wherever you want” she added with a grin before kissing her deeply. She’d never particularly felt sexy before but since meeting Kate she’d become much more confident and secure in her own body.
“I only speak the truth,” Kate explained, one of her hands exploring down Elsa’s curves. She kissed her back, deeply and hard enough to consider just skipping dinner entirely. Control was difficult around the blonde woman and Kate couldn’t help the giddy smile that crossed her face as she finally pulled away. Elsa made her feel sappy, and sappy was a luxury that Kate was happy to indulge in.
Sappy was something Elsa was happy to encourage, it was nice to see that side of her fiancee who was always so strong and in control. But they really should actually go on their date since they hadn’t in a while and there was serious things to discuss. “Come on, food now and then I plan on keeping you up for a long time when we get home”
Kate’s smile was a bit like a puppy staring at someone that made her very very happy. She nodded and hooked her arm through Elsa’s. “I think that’s the best plan I’ve heard all week.”
"I have to agree. We have much needed alone time to be getting on with" she said leaning her head against Kate's shoulder as they walked to the car, "We even match the car" she grinned, she loved the cars Kate had and felt incredibly comfortable and safe when Kate was driving.
She grinned back. Kate had an ever changing selection of cars, and she’d never really explained where or how. Mostly it was the money, and one of the big things she liked to indulge in. She opened the door for Elsa, then got in the car and sped them off as soon as Elsa was buckled in.
Kate had picked out an upscale steakhouse, and she enjoyed the looks shot their way when she walked in with a beautiful blonde on her arm. “Two for Kane.”
They were led to a table with a window view, and Kate settled in to stare unabashedly at Elsa. “Order whatever you want.”
Elsa felt rather good herself walking in with the stunning redhead, their appreciation of each other was, it seemed, not going to dim. Which she took as a good sign.
"I usually do" Elsa told her a little flirty, she could feel Kate's eyes on her and it made her heart rate speed up. She smiled over her menu, "You're supposed to be picking out what you want too" she said tone amused.
Grinning exuberantly, Kate pointed at something on the menu. “Oh I already had plans to order this. Get some red meat in me.” She winked. Red after all was her favorite color.
Elsa laughed, “Color coordination is the theme of the night I see” she teased with a smile choosing her own food and placing the menu down so she could focus on her fiance.
Kate smiled, red red lips curving up as she steadied her gaze on Elsa’s face. She put her hand over the blonde’s and rubbed lightly. “Speaking of color coordination. Have any ideas for our wedding?”
“Well I guess it depends on when we’re aiming for” Elsa said turning her hand to link their fingers, “I’m torn between a summer and winter setting” she admitted, because Winter made sense with her powers but Summer was so much nicer.
“I like the idea of a winter wedding,” Kate replied, and gestured at Elsa as if that was self-explanatory. “But I’m not too picky on the time of year. And summer is good for contrasts. I just know I’m wearing a suit, if that’s okay with you.”
Elsa smiled and nodded, “I suppose, even in summer, I can make it wintery” she said thoughtfully. “Of course, whatever you’d prefer. You’ll look beautiful”
Figuring out a date was going to be harder than Kate thought. She tapped her finger on her lip. “Do you want to do it sooner or later? Money isn’t an issue, trust me. My folks are going to be more than happy that I’ve settled down.”
“July or August? Is that too soon?” Elsa suggested, money wouldn’t ever be an issue for either of them. While she wasn’t quite as extravagant as Kate car-wise, she had more than enough money thanks to the television empire her parents had left her and Anna. “I’m glad they’ll be happy for you” she said softly.
“I like the idea of August, actually.” Kate leaned forward, her eyes roaming across Elsa’s face. She sat back again when the wine arrived so that she could sip at it. “Not too soon, but still plenty of time for everything to fall into place. Do you want it outdoors or indoors?”
“Outdoors would be nice. Then if I want to make it snow I could” she smiled, fingers still locked with Kate’s while her other hand picked up her own wine glass, “So August and outside. Now just to decide on where outside.”
“Oh… Oh what if we have you do that during the ceremony? Nothing serious, just a little bit of snow coming down, for atmosphere?” Kate sounded excited at the idea. She thought it would be fitting.
Elsa loved that Kate liked her powers, it made it a lot easier to control them knowing those she loved weren’t afraid or horrified by them. “I can do that” she nodded, “It’s a nice idea”
It was hard not to make Mr. Freeze jokes, but Kate always succeeded. “We wouldn’t have a problem with ice sculptures. It’ll be a cool wedding.” Puns on the other hand, she couldn’t resist sometimes. “I’m still in shock that you want to go through with this. A year ago and I was the female equivalent to Tony Stark with the ladies.”
Luckily Elsa found the puns rather amusing and she chuckled, “And I had been steering clear of relationships” she smiled, “I’m so glad I took up the challenge of a date from the rebellious redhead”
“I’m glad that I was able to change your mind.” Kate stroked her finger over Elsa’s palm. “And to think when I first saw you I only really wanted… you know. And then we talked and I think I fell right then and there.”
“I’m flattered by all of that you know” Elsa smiled, “That you wanted me for my body and it was my mind that managed to snag you” she teased.
“I’m in love with both. And then some.” She could never place it into words. Just being around Elsa seemed to make it difficult to breathe, or think very clearly. She’d honestly never been this happy in her life. She had to actively stop herself from sabotaging it.
"I'm happy to hear that we're both on the same page as far as feelings go then" she laughed softly, she would have hoped they were what with getting married after all. Just then the waiter appeared to take their orders.
Kate ordered without looking at the menu, her chin on her hands as she watched Elsa move. She remembered the first time they’d met and how closed in Elsa had seemed. She liked to think she had a hand in helping her open up. “Sometimes I want to ask you all over again, just to see the look on your face.”
Elsa beamed, "It was lovely you know? Absolutely perfect and a most wonderful surprise" Not how she had imagined but perfect anyway.
“Well. If you think it was perfect, then it was perfect. After all, you’re hardly ever wrong.” Kate winked, her eyes never leaving Elsa’s.
“It’s true” Elsa smirked before laughing, she was ridiculously happy and relaxed. They’d needed this night together and Elsa planned to enjoy every moment of it.
