"You'd be surprised. Though yes, a teleporter would be much more convenient." Surely someone in this area had the ability to create one! With all the different types of dreams there were, it was more shocking that there wasn't one yet. Unless it was a matter of materials or... something. Who knew. Science and all that wasn't Clara's strong suit.
The fact that Clara was such a hugger given her father tended to be confusing to those who didn't know her. But for Clara, hugs were what helped people. It was how Duncan had helped her when he first met her as she'd been crying in a closet on the anniversary of her parents' death. So for her, it was how she offered comfort. Hearing that seeing the death wasn't the worst of it though? That did worry Clara, even if Troy wasn't dealing with the burning sensation.
So she did what she had shown up to do. Listen, let Troy talk about it. Whatever it was that was so upsetting, it was enough to ignore proper convention and text late. The image of Troy, any version of Troy, as a warrior didn't seem to compute, it just wasn't him, though who could control what they dreamed? But to be a warrior... it would explain why he said it would get worse.
And it did. It didn't slip Clara's notice though that Troy was slipping into a first person telling of what he had seen as opposed to third person. He was seeing himself as this not!Doctor. He had dreamed of being the one fighting... of wiping out his home and locking it. Genocide...It was a lot to take in, and all Clara could do was sit and listen. She hadn't even been there and she felt her heart break for Troy, the Doctor.. all of them. To have that on one's conscious...
It explained the sadness in his eyes. In her Doctor's eyes in the dreams. The same sadness in John's and the same sadness she now saw in Troy's. It was the fact Rose seemed to show up that was really shocking though. She knew that the younger woman dreamt of the Doctor, or some version of him. But if Troy was dreaming of his face changing (yet not to his own, that would have been mentioned she figured) and Rose showing up...
It was another piece to the puzzle.
"No one person should ever have to carry that burden... I'm so sorry." She didn't know what to do, even if she was completely honest and open about it. How did one person get to the point where they felt there was no other way? There had to be... but if he was all alone... Even if Troy himself hadn't done that, even if it was all from the Dreams, he still now had to carry that with him.
