Clara really should have been asleep. She wasn't even avoiding the dreams like people often discussed on the network. Beyond the one of her mum dying, there really hadn't been anything that upsetting. Unsettling? Sure. But nothing that she would run from. In fact, the two adventures she'd dreamt of were actually quite exciting, the worries during the climax of them and all. No, as unsettling as they might be at times, she didn't fear the dreams even if she worried about how they affected John and that they would do the same to Troy and her dad, and Daniel even if they never spoke. Were there dreams she avoided? Of course. But those were the ones where Samuel was alive and so she wouldn't want to wake up from them.
Instead, she'd been reading. Perhaps it had been a subconscious desire to avoid running the risk of the Samuel dreams, but as far as she'd been aware, it was just getting caught up in a book. Nothing too shocking with that, it was Clara. She'd been known to curl up in a corner and read an entire book in the span of a day if given the chance. There lesson plans to go over, but with nothing to grade at the moment, reading had been her go to following a day of bad luck.
The late night/early morning message from Troy was worrisome. It had seemed to come out of nowhere and once she realised the actual time? Yeah. She was worried. How could she not be after the drama John had dealt with with his burning sensations and then being told not to worry. That phrase might as well be a flashing neon sign of Yes, be worried. Something is wrong. But it could be anything, so disregarding the fact she'd been in pajama bottoms and a tshirt, she grabbed her keys and left.
The drive itself was uneventful. Not many cars on the road or people out. Mostly a stillness to the air. Once parked, the petite brunette made her way to Troy's flat and knocked before letting herself in as he had said he'd leave the door unlocked for her.
