Gwen was in her office, plowing through cups of coffee and wondering how much trouble she’d get in if she hired a plumber to install a toilet next to her desk. Because all the trips she’d been taking to the girls restroom were really cutting a chunk out of her day. But she had to get her work done early, because she knew that Rose was coming over for gossip and she wanted to have plenty of time to chat with her new girl friend!

Rose was excited to see where Gwen worked and skipped across the street, looking up at the high building that was Stark Tower. She smirked as Gwen’s words came back to her: It's just a big office building. Though, it does have the Tony Stark flare. Rose would have to agree with that statement as she walked in. She had to check in with the front desk, stating her name and ID. Thank goodness she and Gwen had talked about this; she had no idea security was so high!

She was given a visitor badge and proceeded to the level Gwen’s office was on. It may have taken Rose a little bit longer as she kind of stared at everything around her enough to get a little lost. But she finally made it (maybe with the help of one or two employees) to Gwen’s office. She gave a little knock on the door and opened, popping her head in.

“This place is crazy!” she said, giving her friend a fake put out look.

Gwen looked up from her desk at the sound of the knock and broke into a smile at the sight of her friend. “Rose, hi!” She said, and stood up from her office chair. She laughed, and came around to give her friend a quick hug in greeting. “You like it? It’s a lot to take in, I know. Did you get a tour, or did they send you straight up here to me?”

Rose happily returned the hug and shook her head to the question. “No, no tour, came right up! I think I’m waiting for you to give me the grand tour! Figure we could go backstage in a lot of places and maybe even meet the big man himself?” She wiggled her eyebrows and laughed. “Or just show me what the rest of the public gets to see! Still, it’s so cool to be here!” She looked down at her visitor badge and showed it to Gwen, as if she had never seen one before. “A visitor badge! If that’s not classy, I don’t know what is.” She grinned.

“I’ll show you all over the place, don’t worry. I have no idea where Tony is at the moment, but he may show himself. His lab is pretty much off-limits, though.” Even Gwen didn’t get to go there unless she was invited. “Come on, then. We’ll start with Pepper’s office.” She held out an elbow to Rose to lead the way out of her office and down the hall.

Rose grinned and happily linked her arm to Gwen’s, walking down the hallways. “I think you introduced me to Pepper during the New Year’s Eve banquet they held. Thank you for that invite by the way. I’m sorry John was...well, John.” She grinned, thinking how drunk he had gotten off a couple of drinks. “Although I had to admire his choice of accessories! I thought his tie made a rather nice hat as well.”

Gwen laughed. “It’s okay. His tie definitely did make a nice hat.” She said, grinning, as she led the way down the hall. She pointed out Pepper’s office, and the back door into the lab, and some bathrooms, and the elevator. There wasn’t a whole lot on this floor, actually. Mostly Tony’s work space and offices.

“It makes me miss when we were roommates. He’s so much fun. I’m really glad that you two found each other.” Gwen said, smiling at Rose. “You bring out the happiness in him. Even if he’s a bit of a lightweight.”

Rose was impressed with the whole layout and that was only the floor they were currently on! She had never been inside a building that boasted so much technology and innovation so it was all new to her. She wanted to peek into every door, but knew that wasn’t something quite on the tour this time.

“You need to come over more often!” Rose said, giving her friends arm a squeeze. Usually Rose felt a little green with envy whenever John boasted of his close friends who were girls, but Gwen was a special case. She had always been so accepting and open with Rose, she couldn’t help but feel the same way about her as well. “We could have a sleepover and stay in my room! It’ll be like you’re back at the place.” She grinned and blushed just a little at the compliment she had given her.

“He’s such a great guy. I’m glad it seems like I make him happy because he certainly makes me feel the same way!” She beamed at Gwen, almost showing her how much John meant to her. “But really...dinner at our place sometime. And if you can get your boyfriend to come along, that would be even better!”

Gwen shouldn’t ever make Rose jealous. Her friendship with John was closer to a sibling-like relationship than anything else. Gwen loved John dearly, but there was nothing romantic about it. Actually, that was almost a disgusting thought to Gwen. Almost. She laughed at the idea of a sleepover. “We’ll see. I don’t know if I could say no to that. I miss the banana pancakes.” She admitted, grinning.

“God, you guys are so cute. Yes. I’ll definitely come over for dinner.” She replied. “Seriously, just name the day and time, and I’ll be there.”
“I’ll just keep asking you until you cave.” Rose gave her a teasing wink, but really would have loved to have Gwen over. She was sure John would be happy of the reunion as well. “Actually! We could build a fort! Sleepover out in the living room whooo!” She laughed as they continued their walk around the tower, Rose glancing into random rooms when she could.

Rose couldn’t help but blush, wondering what it was that Gwen found so adorable. Sure, there were times Rose wondered how she got so lucky to meet someone like John, but had they been very public with their relationship? She began to wonder if everyone else saw what she thought she might be showing towards her flatmate.

“It’s hard with my work now, but we’re usually always free during the week!” Rose thought about it for a moment. “What about after Valentine’s? I’m going with my cousin to New York and won’t be back until the 20th. Would that work for ya?”

Gwen laughed. “I haven’t had a sleepover in a blanket fort since… well, since I moved out and left John on his own. The poor dear. I wonder how he’s held up all this time.” She grinned softly. “All right, count me in. So long as there are banana pancakes.” Her grin brightened a bit, playfully.

“After Valentine’s Day is perfect. It won’t pull me away from Michael time.” Gwen responded. She pulled out her phone to punch it into her calendar.

“With John, who knows? I actually began to wonder how he survived on his own between you and me. You and I?” She shot Gwen a sideways glance, knowing how much she enjoyed her grammar. “I guess he just stayed inside and kept to himself. Heaven help him when it comes to common sense though.” She rolled her eyes, remembering how it had taken everything to get him to stop walking home alone after work.

Rose smiled and nodded her head. “I’ll make sure to let John know, but you should probably bug him and send a text too. In case I forget.” She gave her a wink, though she might have been a little serious in forgetting. Rose meant well in all things she did, but had a tendency to forget things every now and then.

“How’s Michael doing?”

Gwen laughed. “You and me.” She said, grinning. “Poor little hermit. I feel bad for him.” She moved into the break room which was stuffed to capacity with snacks of all kinds. Fresh fruit and veggies in a fridge with a glass door, bottles of water, and more junk-food-type snacks on some shelves.

“Right, you and me,” she said, smiling as she followed behind her. “Ooooh, snacks! Which reminds me, does your boss still do all those food trucks? Can we get those for lunch?”

“Absolutely.” Gwen said, nodding and grinning. “Let’s go see what Tony has in store for us today.”
