Skye was in desperate need of a caffeine fix, sure there was coffee at home but she wasn't in the mood for regular coffee this morning, she wanted something fancy and stupidly sweet so she'd grabbed her purse, keys and phone and headed out while Grant had been out running. She'd sent him a text to let him know where she'd gone because she knew he'd worry if he got home and she was just gone without some form of communication. It had served a dual purpose as well because she'd been able to ask him if he wanted anything as well, no way she was going to go and get herself something without asking him, she wasn't a selfish girlfriend.
Her outing served another purpose as well, she could indulge in her social networking addiction without being teased by Grant, not that he teased her that much about it but still she preferred to do it where people didn't have a smart remark to make. Skye had placed her order and was waiting at to collect the two beverages as she poked at her phone and hoped from site to site not really taking any of it in. When the barista called her name she barely registered it until another patron tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. "Oh, sorry," she muttered as she looked up rather sheepishly and picked up the two ridiculously large cups in the cardboard tray, the bag with the muffins in already tucked safely in her purse.
With the drinks in one hand and her phone in the other she made her way to the exit, she wasn't paying attention though so she didn't see the danger she'd just placed herself in. Well not exactly danger but she was on a collision course with someone who had just walked in. At the last moment she looked up and saw someone right in front of her, a brief sense of horror filled her as she realized if she didn't act quickly they'd both get covered in hot coffee. She dodged to one side but as she did so she lost her grip on the tray and could only watch as both drinks toppled out and went crashing to the floor. A groan left her as she looked down at the spilled drinks. "Well that will teach me to look where I'm going," she said as she looked towards the person she'd almost walked into, "Sorry for almost scalding you."
