Skye had cheered up slightly after her conversation with Grant over the network but it hadn't lasted long, the sadness had slowly crept back in as she waited for him to get home. She knew it was silly to be upset over someone she didn't know dying but the truth of the matter was that she'd spent hours as a child watching Star Trek with her parents and it somehow like she'd lost a little bit of her childhood with the death of Leonard Nimoy. She hadn't told Grant that yet, she hadn't wanted him to worry as he drove home but she'd tell him when he was in front of her and she could hold onto him and use his strength to support her.
She'd found the take-out menus and laid them out though she suspected that Grant would let her pick what they ate and just go along with whatever she decided. She'd also done a quick search of the cupboards to make sure they had plenty of snacks for the night, once Grant got in that door she had no intention of letting him go so if they needed anything she'd have to text him but thankfully they'd barely touched the stuff they'd gotten last time they'd been grocery shopping.
Having gotten home from work over an hour ago she'd already changed out of the clothes she'd worn for the day, opting for a pair of yoga pants and one of Grant's shirts, the need to be close to him that little bit stronger than normal had caused her to seek out something of his to wear. She'd contemplated a shower but she couldn't find the energy to stand there and actually wash so she'd decided to pull her hair back in a messy braid, loose strands already framed her face but she wasn't overly fussed by them.
Skye had kept herself as busy as she could but now all she could do was wait for Grant. She sat down on the couch and tried not to curl up on herself, it was difficult when she was feeling so blue. Sitting where she was meant she could hear noise from outside so she heard Grant pull up outside and it took everything she had not to jump off the couch and run out to meet him. She did however get up and slowly pace around the living room as she waited for him to walk in the door. As soon as she heard the key in the lock she was moving towards the door and she practically threw herself into him as he walked in. "You took your time," she said against his chest as she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight.
