While one might think that Clara wouldn't have time to read as she needed to be caught up on the books she needed to teach her classes, as well as grading and all of that, that wasn't necessarily true. No. Clara would find time to read, especially if it gave her an escape from everything going on. From dreams and worrying about John (because he was being weirder than usual and that worried her), being frustrated with her dad and just not wanting to deal with the loss of Samuel, reading was an excellent escape. It allowed her to go to a different world, forget who she was and just be immersed in a new life for a few hours. As it was, she had finished all of her books besides the random one that showed up from her dreams... which meant that Clara was in desperate need of new things to read. For while she loved re-reading stories, she also liked to keep her options open and enjoyed finding new things.
That was how she found herself at a bookstore, going through the aisles. It was a dangerous thing to let Clara into a bookstore without a plan or knowing what it was she was looking for. She could spend hours in them, reading the sleeves of the book to see if the story caught her attention. She couldn't quite explain it, but there was a draw to ones about traveling, time travel even. She brushed it off, though. There were plenty of books to catch her attention and she already had a few in hand. Books from the history section, mostly. She also found a couple in the fiction section that she had yet to read that looked promising.
Turning to go to the new releases, Clara ran right into someone, books falling to the ground.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" The comment was said as she knelt down to pick up her books. Leave it to Clara to run into someone in a bookstore while her arms were full. No matter.
