To say that Helena was having a bad time of it was putting it lightly. Between dreaming that her daughter had been murdered, the very real bookstore fire and having yet another dream in which she was becoming obsessed with time travel, she was having a bad time of it. Helena wasn't sleeping well, and it was starting to get to her. She'd found herself sitting up late writing or taking the toaster apart and putting it back together just for something to do. Which, okay, while she'd always been a writer of a sort, the taking an appliance apart and putting back together thing was new. She'd never really been adept at mechanical engineering. Yet she'd put the toaster back together perfectly, and it still worked.

She was going to chalk that whole thing up to her dreams and her dream self's adeptness with mechanical engineering to be bleeding over into her a bit.

Needless to say, after some days of fretting about it, she'd finally decided to take Peter up on his offer and asked him if he would come over. She felt like company, though she wasn't entirely certain how to talk about what was bothering her. But at least Peter would understand what she was going through, in a way, so she hoped that would help. So with Christina staying the night at the sitter's, Helena waited for Peter to arrive. Normally she'd want her daughter under the same roof as her, but she wasn't certain how deeply into her issues she'd be going tonight, and she didn't want Christina to overhear any of it. Her daughter didn't need to be traumatized more about the fact her mother had dreamt she'd died.

Having a couple different types of alcohol at her disposal, Helena was nursing a glass of vodka as she sat in her living room, her mind racing through everything that had been happening of late.
