Ever try meditation?
Who: Logan and Rogue
What: interrupting Logan with very tall blondes, and meditation. Also beer.
When: recent
Where: Logan's shitty apartment
Rating: PG-13 language
She really didn't know how it had started. But the next thing she knew she was headed to Logan's, with beer and food. Because she hadn't seen him in a few days. And because he was the closest thing to a best friend she had besides Lina, and Cindy, but he understood her better. This time she took the bike. She refused to run six miles with a stockpile of beer and food. Just no.
Knuckles rapped on his door. "Beer delivery!"
After a few minutes, Logan answered the door. He was wearing boxers and a tank top, and had clearly been either asleep or occupied with someone. “Beer?”
Everything stops for Beer.
"It's been awhile. So I brought beer. I can drop and go if you're busy." A little smile from the woman holding out the bag full of beer.
She didn't mind either way.
A very tall blonde woman snuck out of Logan's bed room. She was over six feet tall and had her hair pulled back into a pony tail. She glanced at Rogue, giving her an appreciative look, then shot Logan a smirk. "You really do have stamina."
She retrieved her jacket from a hook, and sauntered past Rogue.
Logan shrugged, then took the beer from Rogue. "See you around, darlin'."
Then he let Rogue in.
She let out one of those tired sighs as the woman spoke then plastered one of them good southern girl smiles on.
After she left, Rogue just rubbed the bridge of her nose. "You know. You could've said scram." Still rubbing her nose before looking up with a small smirk. "But I brought food, too"
Everything was better with good food.
"Eh, she was on her way out anyway," Logan said, rubbing the back of his neck. He sniffed, then nodded. "Smells good. What brings you 'round?"
"Been awhile, people keep reminding me to be social and not work so much. Figured I'd harass one of the first who threatens to knock me out if I don't!" She grinned.
Then a smirk. "Of course it smells good. I made it."
“Half expected I’d have to drag you out of the kitchen.” He wondered how many get back in the kitchen jokes she had to deal with. And if he could stab those people for her.
A little southern smile crept up her face. "Yeah well, probably would have, had I not decided I didn't need to be around a few customers today." Specifically high pitched laughing ones. A few. And of course. She'd enjoy that. If she heard make me a sandwich again she'd call him. That was grating on her nerves.
“That bad, huh? Wanna talk about it?”
She gave a passable grunt. "Few new ones, ones got this high pitched laugh that just eats at my nerves. Got a couple pretty boys who think 'go make me a sandwich' is an acceptable line." She started unpacking food. Perfectly cooked steaks, no real sides, just meat. And beer.
Logan grimaced. “Hate that. Even worse with me, probably rupture my ear drums if it eats at your nerves. How you ain’t punched someone yet?”
"Don't feel like a lawsuit." She shrugged. "You'd probably just crush her windpipe. It's awful." She shuddered. "Thankfully the stuff for Cindy means I can punch people later." She opened a beer. "She's just adding to the noise in my head. I wish i had a way to shut them up."
“Ever try meditation?” Logan couldn’t quite remember, but it was something he could show her.
"No, haven't tried that." Rogue arched a brow but really wasn't surprised at the suggestion. "If it'd help I'd do anything for a little peace and quiet. I'm getting better at control, but I didn't have a choice, so it's a little loud in here. Less so than it was a few days ago but still.."
"Want me to show you?"
She tucked a white stand behind her ear. "Sure. Show me."
Logan jerked his head towards the balcony. “Come on.” He hadn’t bothered to dress any more than he already had, but he didn’t need to be fully dressed for this. He sat, cross legged and patted the ground next to him.
Rogue set her beer down and followed. She plunked down next to him and start cross legged, head tilted a bit.
“Clear your mind,” he told her, opening one eye to look at her.
Rogue stifled a snort. Clear.Ha. But she'd give it a try. Hell she looked prettier without the perma scowl on her face as was.
“You ain’t clearin’ it.” He elbowed her. “Try harder.”
She elbowed him back. "Ahm trying, you know none of them like being told to hush" she snarked, opening one eye.
Logan smirked, then closed his eyes again, letting silence fill the air.
She closed her eyes again and tried to shove everyone into a time out box. Silence guys! She was trying. Face smoothed out, the only sign she was struggling with this was the corner of her lip sucked in a bit.
Logan kept himself in a meditatve state, trusting Rogue to keep it up. If she could find silence outside, maybe she could shut out the voices in her head.
Rogue didn't come by this naturally. But she cheated a little. She searched her memories first, finding something close and getting the right idea. It was a little easier then. Getting it sorted out in her head made it easier to focus. And, get everyone in her head to quiet down.
Compartmentalizing things made it easier to deal, and in Rogue’s case Logan figured that she needed some kind of head prison. He wasn’t sure how to help with that though.
She let out an involuntary, but happy sigh as things shut up in her head. They weren't silent but the din was quieter. The tension in her shoulders melted a bit. It wasn't perfect but it'd help.
Logan opened his eyes, and smiled at her. “So it’s a start, darlin’.”
Rogue ran her hands through her hair. "There's a semblance of quiet, it's nice." She said quietly before nearly knocking him over with a side given hug. She really was incredibly grateful. Silence was priceless.
