Who: Veronica Mars and Kate Bishop
When: Some Wednesday Night
Where: Club
What: Drinking and Dancing
Rating: Low/None
Status: Complete
Kate picked up Veronica. She figured that they could carpool to the club, and get a taxi home if they needed one. The drinking would be fun, and the dancing would hopefully burn off the alcohol and sober them up to drive home. But if not, taxi. It wouldn’t be the first time that Kate had taken a taxi home after a long night of playing.
She pulled into the parking space in the club’s lot. It was a weeknight, so it wasn’t all that busy, and parking was easy to find. Kate climbed out of the driver’s seat, waited for Veronica to climb out, too, then clicked the fob to lock the doors. “So, there’s almost never a cover charge at this place. Not that I’ve ever had to pay, anyway.”
Veronica had been a bit skeptical about going out lately with all the crime going on especially after she ran into her own incident, but the girl couldn’t hide forever. She had to live her own life. Besides she knew she could handle herself and a night of drinking and dancing was just what she needed. Of course she made sure she had her taser and even the gun Cindy had gotten her just to be safe. Though she really hoped she didn’t have to use either one.
“Doubtful we would get charged” Veronica agreed with a smirk as the girls make their way to the entrance getting let in before a few waiting in line. No charge at all. Another smirk before making her way to the bar. Veronica was going to need a few drinks before she got out on the dance floor.
Kate was prepared. Always, now-a-days. She had her bow, had her foil. She hoped she wouldn’t need to go for them, because they weren’t as easily hidden or accessible as say, a knife, but they were far more deadly in her hands. Not that she’d ever killed anyone. Or was planning to. But she would do what she had to do to keep herself and Veronica safe. Or any other helpless victims out there.
“With faces like these?” Kate added, giving her a grin. Then they were inside. Kate moved over to the bar, smooshed up her boobs a bit to show off some cleavage, and the horny bartender was over in seconds. Kate ordered a couple shots and something highly alcoholic to chase ‘em.
“Yeah your face is what they are looking at,” Veronica replied with a smirk as her friend adjusted her boobs. That wasn’t exactly her thing, but hey if Kate wanted to do it and it would get them drinks faster Veronica certainly wasn’t about to stop her. Veronica ordered her usual whiskey before turning her attention back to Kate. “So what brought on this impromptu night out?”
When it came to boobs, Kate didn’t have a whole lot to work with. But she flaunted what she had to get what she wanted. She shrugged, turning her attention to Veronica. The din was loud enough at the bar that she had to raise her voice just slightly to be heard. “Just wanted a night out where I’m not playing the superhero. So, no crime spree attacks or anything tonight, okay?”
“Fine by me,” Veronica replied as the bartender brought over their drinks. Avoiding crime was actually on the top of her to-do list. “To no crime spree attacks and having fun,” she raised her glass clinking it with Kate’s before taking a nice long gulp.
Kate beamed. She clinked her glass against Veronica’s, then downed the shot and chased it with whatever she’d ordered. Lots of booze tonight, friend. Kate was gonna get blotto, then dance it all off. That was the plan. “Definitely not picking up any boys,” she added, as an afterthought.
“No boys?” Veronica raised a brow at that. Didn’t sound much like Kate. Not that Veronica was opposed. She wasn’t much for being groped in general, particularly not after recent events. “Am I missing something?”
“No.” Kate said, and sighed. She leaned back a little against the bar and turned to look out over the crowd. “I’m just sick of it. Some of my friends from college made a pact to give up boys. And I’m with them. You know? I don’t need the drama and the crushed heart every time I fancy someone who doesn’t feel anything back.”
It sounded like there was a bit more to the story there. For once though Veronica wasn’t going to pry. Not tonight at least. She took another sip of her drink turning with Kate to survey the crowd. “Looks like it’s time for you to dip your toes in the lady pond,” maybe Kate had already. Veronica didn’t know. That wasn’t really her thing per say, but no judgement.
Kate snorted. “I don’t need to dip my toes in any pond.” She lifted the glass for a gulp again, chasing down those shots and feeling the alcohol warm her from the inside out. “Just because I’m sick of men doesn’t mean I’m gonna switch sides in this whole deal.” She was smirking, though. Kate was straight. Mostly. At least, she was convinced that she was.
“It’s kind of implied,” Veronica retorted before finishing off her drink. She turned back to the bar to order another. One more and then she would be tipsy enough to dance. “But hey, whatever floats your boat.” Somehow she doubted Kate would be able to stay away from men for too long, but she wasn’t going to burst her friends bubble.
Once the bartender handed her her drink Veronica downed it almost immediately. “Alright. Let’s dance.”
“That’s the best suggestion I’ve heard all night.” Kate said, with a grin. She took another shot, downed some of her chaser, then turned to head with Veronica off onto the dance floor.
